25.01.2022 I have arrived home after 2 amazing weeks in Bali Thank you to all the beautiful yoginis that joined me on my Yoga & Wellness Retreats in 2016 I am so grate...ful to do the work I do . Teaching yoga brings me so much joy. I love the journey I take with with my students, not only do I witness the external changes, but the internal blossoming of everyone's true potential. "The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to preform postures, But in how it positively changes the way we live our life & our relationships" So blessed to share with these gorgeous souls Hope to see next year in Ubud Yoga & Wellness Retreats 4-10th June 2017 24-30th September 2017 Namaste Jan See more

22.01.2022 Wishing you all a Happy Diwali! Diwali is a five day celebration known as the festival of lights. It is traditionally celebrated throughout India, Nepal and by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all around the world. ... The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning "rows of lighted lamps". Houses, shops, workplaces, temples and public places are all decorated with these small oil lamps called diyas. The celebration is an incredible event with lots of fireworks plus delicious sweets are made so as you can imagine it’s very popular with everyone! Diwali is festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. It symbolises the return of Ram and Sita after 14 years in exile. Diwali also celebrates the goddess of wealth and prosperity, Lakshmi. Some believe it falls on her birthday and the day she married the Lord Vishnu. Wishing you an abundance of prosperity for the year ahead

21.01.2022 Tuesday YogaFlow 9.30am with Jan Our yoga practice can provide a private, safe arena in which we can begin developing and flexing our intuitive muscles. The next time you move deeply into a yoga pose, listen and feel for your first edge of resistance. Wait and breathe into that tugging place, until an internal flowering takes place and sweetens the quality of energy you have inside that moment ... #yoga #intuition #breathe #breathwork #comingbacktotheself #yogaflow #bathurstyoga #yogainbeautifulplaces #pranayogabathurst

19.01.2022 Change and transformation can be challenging when we are faced with these elements daily - One way that helps is to have Active Feet When we are fearful, we get caught up in our chest, neck, and jaw. By keeping our feet active makes the energy travel down to some of the biggest bones and muscles and makes us feel grounded. It also keeps us more aware, because you’re breaking a habitual posture. ... Do it right now! Spread through the ball of the foot and the heel, pressing down into the earth. Now lift your toes and spread them out, until your whole foot is awake

19.01.2022 Happy Monday Yogis If you have people who makes you smile, who makes you feel special, who make you feel complete, who check on you often just to see if you are fine, who watch out for you and wants the very best for you in your life, don’t ever let them go. Keep them so close and don’t ever take them for granted. People like that are hard to find."

17.01.2022 Thursday Morning Mantra~ "I have learned to stop saying yes when I don’t mean it. Honoring the limits of your energy is an act of self-care. The next time you find yourself ready to say yes to someone or something, try this:... Tune in to your body and ask yourself whether saying yes actually means saying no to yourself. If you need to say no, remind yourself that drawing a boundary protects your own well-being and allows you to better support yourself and others. When you say no, don’t feel like you have to explain yourself or provide an excuse when you say no. No, thank you is a complete answer See you on the mat SlowFlow 9.30am

15.01.2022 Saturday- Flow & Release With this breath I release anything that no longer serves me What isn’t serving you right now? Where do you feel overwhelmed, discontent or stress most in your life? These feelings can be an indicator that something is simply not working. ... Maybe it’s a responsibility or job you’re committed to. Or a habit that’s so deeply ingrained in your routine. Or a relationship that is no longer contributing to your personal growth. Or even an attitude or mindset that is self-limiting. Whatever the circumstance, the intention of today’s mantra is to help encourage you to pay attention to the people or things that are no longer serving you. To encourage you to address those habits, attitudes, limiting beliefs, responsibilities, relationships or ways of being that are keeping you from appreciating your life, so you can let them go gracefully. The reality of letting go is that it’s a real process that takes time. And that’s okay. Allow today’s mantra to guide your mind, body and soul into letting these things/feelings go as you take the practical steps needed to begin. Cant wait to see you on the mat 10.30am - Flow&Release Namaste-Jan

14.01.2022 Props are our friends Supported yoga poses using yoga bolsters and other yoga props are what is known as restorative yoga. With the support of bolsters, straps and blankets, this allows one to become totally relaxed and absorbed in the yoga pose, and therefore into the Self. Almost anyone can do a yoga pose that is supported by a yoga bolster and additional yoga props. This is the beauty of our flow & release practice ... For those very active and accomplished yogis, supported, restorative-type poses help you integrate and assimilate all that you have done prior to the supported pose When practicing our Restorative/Flow & release classes we can use our props to decrease or increase the 'stress'. What will work for one person, may be ineffective or even injurious to the other. So don't assume. We learn to explore your unique physicality! For students who do not have a deep backbend due to either an issue with skeletability or lack of flexibility in the spine or shoulders, yogis may wish to place a bolster under the chest to raise the floor higher. This will decrease the backbend and minimise the angle of flexion in the shoulders, whilst allowing them to hold the appropriate shape that hits the target area for their body. Alternatively, those yogis who naturally have a lot of range of motion in the spine, paired with a lot of shoulder flexion who may need to go deeper into the shape in order to feel the 'stress' in the target area - these yogis may want to consider placing the bolster under their forearms instead. For some people, this will increase the flexion in the shoulders, thus enhancing the stretching sensation under the arms and along the front of the body. Using the props is not less advanced. Far from it. Knowing how to utilise our props to your advantage is an intelligent practice. Positive affirmations to say in this yoga pose: "I am safe and secure." I am totally relaxed, grounded and free." "I integrate my whole self, body, mind and soul." May you come to learn to love the restorative yoga poses, using your yoga bolster and other yoga props, just as much as I do. May you relax and renew each and every day, on your path to healing your body-mind-soul.

04.01.2022 Happy Sunday AFFIRMATIONS FOR THE CHAKRAS Our seven chakras are responsible for the flow of energy through the body. When they are open and aligned, we can more easily bring forward power, love, and inner wisdom to everything we do. When the chakras are blocked, though, it can lead to physical and mental stagnation. Affirmations are a great way to connect to each chakra and open it.... Which of these affirmations did you need today? See more

02.01.2022 Tuesday YogaFlow 9.30am with Jan One of the most wonderful benefits of yoga is how it can instil gratitude and thankfulness in our hearts. A thankfulness for our bodies, our minds, and our practice. Gratitude is a powerful force. It can improve your mental health and your physical wellbeing. By appreciating each moment, movement and breath, yogis can truly embrace life.... Cant wait to see you all on the mat See more

02.01.2022 How many times have you heard this one yoga is good for flexibility but you’re not going to get strong or build muscle !!! The reality is that every single muscle in the body needs to engage and stabilize in even the simplest asana. There is nothing that has transformed my core strength, control and body composition as much as my yoga practice. ... The simple act of holding a truly aligned chaturanga requires a great amount of strength and even though the practice can appear effortless is definitely isn’t! As we start to go deeper into our own practice ... and crucially ... slow everything down and work at removing ALL momentum the need for true integral strength increases ... and then we learn to float and to invert and the possibilities of this incredible human body are limitless. Yoga makes me feel powerful, and strong and capable. It’s helped me to fall in love with what my body can DO rather than what it looks like So much LoVe to you all yogis See you on the mat soon Jan

02.01.2022 Saturday Morning 10am Flow&Release...... REST REST: cease work or movement in order to relax, sleep, or recover strength. ... Today & tomorrow rest as much as possible. Bring the intention of rest into your awareness for the next couple days. Why? I feel the need. I deserve it. I allow myself. I'm learning to rest, so I've got to practice. I am allowing myself Do you rest? Do you allow yourself to rest? In our modern lives, busyness is often seen as a trophy. I invite you to REST. My suggestions: Elevate your legs for 10min. Have a cup of tea without checking your phone. Take a few long & slow breathes. Do some restorative yoga Meditate Have a bath. Contemplate nature. REST Rest in the knowledge of your being Rest in the unknown Rest & gift yourself this weekend Namaste - Jan See more
