Posted @withregram @alice__blanch Exhibition Opening This Thursday night @praxisartspace 6-8pm All welcome As above (so below) brings the creative forces of Alice Blanch and Hamish Donaldson @ham_don together to present an immersive sound and moving image experience. (short clip above). The work addresses the greatest miss-truth we base our selves upon, the embodied belief of our separation from everything around us, our our-ness and them-ness, the ‘apart’ rather than ‘a part of’. The work as a whole speaks to our deep selves reminding us of our true place, embedded in this unfolding universe. This collaborative exhibition brings both artists into new mediums. Alice’s work is created with Super 8 movie cameras to capture the happenings of the grand world above us and Hamish’s ambient inspired soundscape draws on live field recordings to hold a space for the moving image to unfold. This work has been made on the country belonging to Arrernte and Boon Wurrung/Bunurong people.
