21.01.2022 Recently children at Collinswood have been enjoying excursions and incursions offered by Windsor Gardens Bunnings. The ongoing workshops are based around our current program focus; sustainability and community involvement. Bunnings came out and created some worm farms and garden beds with the children, the herbs and vegetables have grown amazingly! At the workshop the children made some garden stakes with writing on them indicating what vegetable/herb it is. They were also able to make a little Christmas gift for their families. When they were done we all sat in the café had lunch and babycinos with Eleni who conducted the workshop.

20.01.2022 Gardening and cooking has been a big focus in the Pre-kindy room at Lockleys who doesnt love watermelon!!! The children are constantly exposed to a range of cooking lessons that link directly to our Practical Life Curriculum and cooking in the kitchen with our chef Ros. The children could identify that other children would feel happy to get a present on Christmas. The families and staff at Westbourne Park are invited to purchase and donate a toy to place under the tree and St Vincent De Paul will come to collect the toys and distribute them to families in need, ready for Christmas Day. The holiday season is a time that we can give back to our community and broaden childrens understanding of the world in which we live.
