20.01.2022 Just a quick note to let everyone know that Precious Plastic (Taringa) is still going strong and expanding in spite of (and possibly because of) the efforts of government agents. I haven't posted much here because these same government agents are monitoring this page so it's better to just keep working and not feed them anything. What I can say is that I'm past half a million bottle caps now! I still want more plastic items for recycling. I recently took delivery of 25 busted wheelie bins which are being cut up ready for the shredder. If you want more news, email me [email protected]

20.01.2022 Day 5 of a plastic bag blitz now on at Precious Plastic (Taringa). Friends are up the coast all week and they kindly agreed to let me use their clothes hoist to hang plastic bags out to dry. I've been trying different methods to find the best match for drying time versus quantity. This photo was taken about 30 minutes ago and shows over 100 bags as sheets and about 30 supermarket bags. Previously, I hung the sheets out at full stretch and I could only get about 50 on the entire hoist. I'll check them about noon. Might take a little longer today because of the clouds.

20.01.2022 Their back deck also gets hot in the morning, so I've been drying large batches of bottle caps there. This photo shows about 7,000 bottle caps (3 bags) which would usually be dry in 3 hours but today it might take longer. This is much better than using the dryer; even though it only takes 20 minutes, I'd have to do about 5 loads to process 7,000 caps.

14.01.2022 Also picked up my new sign for the front. I'll have to find a better way to attach it.

09.01.2022 Woohoo!! The shredder is working! There are a few more issues to sort out. The most important ones are an isolator switch so it can be started and stopped more conveniently, and a hopper to feed the plastic to be shredded.

09.01.2022 Can I get all this foam inside a beer carton? Yes!! The small stack of white polystyrene is one of the large boxes in the first photo.
