25.01.2022 TRANSPORT FOR 8 DOGS These 8 hopeful faces belong to a group of dogs and pups who are in a regional pound. Its a long way from us here in Brisbane but they need our help, and now we need yours. We have Foster Carers ready to care for them but, because of the distance involved, the transport cost is high. We support regional pounds like the one that these dogs come from because if we didnt, nobody else would. Without a rescue to help, the kill rate at pounds like this i...s high. Were hoping to raise $990 to cover their transport costs. Because were a registered charity, any donation made via our website or via direct transfer into our bank, is tax deductible so its win/win - you help us and you can claim it back on your tax. 24.01.2022 ADOPT ME SUMMER The cold weather is here, so add a little bit of warmth to your life with me, Summer! I’m an active girl who loves to run, and I would love to run along side you on your daily active adventures! ... I get along with other dogs, and my favourites are the ones similar in size and speed so we can run run run! So another active brother or sister would be great! At times, I don’t know my own strength so I’d be best suited to a home with older kids. I can get nervous when I meet new people, especially men. But with love and patience, I think I’ll learn to trust again. My foster mum has been working to show me that humans can be great, and I’ve been curling up beside her on the couch, even hogging all the pillows when she lets me! I’ll need secure 6 ft fencing, because I’m a busy girl who knows how to jump. My foster mum has been working on my training, and my forever family will need to be willing to continue my training so I can be the best girl I know I’m destined to be! You work will be rewarded with all the sweetness I have to offer. If you have love and patience, have an active lifestyle and secure fencing, she could be the perfect girl for you https://www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-d/search-now//28959
24.01.2022 And his name is....
24.01.2022 Ahhh how familiar we are with that expression.
23.01.2022 Your dog is YOUR responsibility. We’ll start by saying that Annie is now safe. She has been adopted and is living a happy life. This photo was taken by pound staff when she was a couple of days away from euthanasia, which is really a polite word for the terror they experience as their life is deliberately ended. ... Who’s fault is it? The vet’s for bringing their needle filled with death? No, if they didn’t offer this service, the dogs would be killed in a less humane way. Is it the council pound staff’s fault? No, they’ve been looking after those dogs and trying hard to find placements for them with various rescues. Some of these staff go to great lengths to try to save these dogs and their job takes an awful toll sometimes. There is only so much room in these pounds and when they are full, there is no alternative but to kill these dogs. Whose fault is it? Who caused the fear in Annie’s eyes and oh so very nearly caused her death? It’s the fault of all of those people who thoughtlessly breed their dogs, without any consideration for what will happen to those pups. The people who don’t get around to getting them desexed and end up with surprise litters. The people who get a puppy on an impulse but don’t bother to get them vaccinated or desexed, don’t socialise them and think that sitting day after day by themselves in a backyard is a good life for a dog. The people who become too busy to care for their dogs. A dog is a lifetime commitment. They aren’t a cheap pet for the kids. They cost a lot of money and time. They need annual vaccinations. They need to be protected from Heartworm. They need socialisation and exercise and they need to be part of the family. That’s the hard, cold reality of dog ownership. It’s not a matter of buying a bag of supermarket dog food on the way home from picking up the dog that you saw and got on impulse from Gumtree. Unfortunately the people who should read this, won’t. They prefer to continue their endless cycle of contributing to the lives ended in pounds. It’s an inconvenient truth that they simply won’t face.
23.01.2022 Fostering is proving a temporary home for a rescue dog until it is adopted. Most of the dogs that we bring into care would have been otherwise been euthanised by the pound but instead, get a second chance at life because some was kind enough to share their home for a short time. In the 4 years that we have been operating, we have rehomed over 1,000 dogs, most of whom would have died in a pound if it werent for the goodness of our Foster Carers who literally saved their live...s. Find out more about fostering by going to our website see.ppar.com.au or messaging this page with specific questions.
22.01.2022 Their happy faces!
22.01.2022 LISTEN UP! SavourLife and Best Friends have teamed up to help raise funds and awareness for their local rescue groups and we have been chosen as a rescue they would like to help! Their target is to raise $35,000 which will then be split between the 30 rescue groups involved, including US! If youd like to help, simply purchase any SavourLife food from your local Best Friends Store or on-line at https://bit.ly/32R4aC7 between now and the 27th September and youll be helping them and us reach their goal! Please make sure you share with all your doggy mum and dad friends!

20.01.2022 Stop it, this is not how things are supposed to go!
20.01.2022 LUCY AND WENDELL - $867.70 down and only $32.30 left to go Lucy and Wendell were recently in quite a lot of bother, both were in a regional pound with Heartworm. Heartworm can be fatal but is usually treatable but it can be expensive so what usually happens with these dogs is that they are simply euthanised at the pound because generally rescues dont like to take on dogs that they know are going to cost a lot to treat. Were not like other rescues, we gave them a... chance and brought them to safety. We COULD have just said No, we cant at the moment, its too expensive. But we dont work like that. Theyre just arrived in foster care and will be commencing treatment soon BUT we have a transport bill that we werent really expecting. It cost $750 to bring Lucy and Wendell to safety and it looks like well be doing it again soon with another dog who needs us. Were hoping to raise $900 to cover their transport costs. It wont cover their treatment costs, but it will help us out with this unexpected bill. Because were a registered charity, any donation made via our website or via direct transfer into our bank, is tax deductible so its win/win - you help us and you can claim it back on your tax. The quickest and easiest way is to donate via our website where a tax receipt will be generated automatically for you https://ppar.com.au/donate/ If you want to donate via bank transfer, dont forget to include your name and either Lucy or Wendells name in the reference and send us a message to this page with your email address so we can send you a tax receipt at the end of the month. 20.01.2022 400 Days! Today is Ninja's 400th day in care and we just can't believe it!! This handsome boy's goal in life is to be snuggled up in your lap like a giant pretzel at every given opportunity. He lives in a constant state of puppy-dog-eyes that are always politely begging for your affection. Ninja just wants to please you, and he tries so hard. He will sit there bursting at the seams trying to be a good boi for you if you have given him some instructions. Ninja is also crate tr...ained and is the bestest boy at going into his crate when asked. Despite being so soft on the inside, Ninja is very strong and will need to be kept under a tight reign of strong verbal commands. He walks perfectly using a Halti, or if you are a bit stronger he also shows promise to be trained to walk well without these aids. He also loves a good run! Ninja has come a long way and just requires a confident owner that can remind him everything is under control and okay. If you've had previous experience with socially anxious dogs, we think Ninja would be a blessing in your life! Ninja will need six foot high fences and will be fine as an only dog if you're home often. A confident doggy friend of a similar size would also suit Ninja as he's learnt alot since being in care about how to play well with others with a similar play style to him. He does love a good play-wrestle. Ninja would not be suitable for a home with cats or pocket pets. Ninja is a loving, extremely affectionate, handsome boy who will put in 100% effort to do the right thing by you, and never want to leave your side. Book in a meet and greet with this special boy today and come experience for yourself what he has to offer! https://www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-d/search-now//12521
19.01.2022 FOSTER CARER NEEDED DOR NOVA FOSTER CARER NEEDED IN BRISBANE, GOLD COAST OR SUNSHINE COAST AREA WE DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO TRANSFER HER TO OTHER AREAS FOR FOSTERING... Poor, sweet Nova has had a really rough time of things recently. She is in a regional pound after being found scavenging for food. It seems her previous owner went away without leaving any food for her and when she could no longer stand the hunger pains, she broke out and went looking for food. We really want to bring Nova to safety and fill that belly with good food but first, we need to find a Foster Carer who will look after her until she is adopted. We dont know how she is with cats or kids unfortunately but she seems sweet but very scared and sad at the pound. WHO We are calling out for a Carer in the Brisbane / Gold Coast / Sunshine Coast or Toowoomba areas who can commit to caring for this dog until they are adopted. WHAT A Foster Carer provides a temporary home until PPAR can find a forever home. We pay for the dogs vet work, ongoing flea treatment and can even provide food. HOW If you can foster, please complete the application to foster at www.ppar.com.au Regardless of the urgency, we cannot allocate a dog without a completed application. PLEASE ONLY COMMENT TO SAY THAT YOU WILL TAKE A DOG OR SUBMIT THE APPLICATION IF YOU ARE GENUINELY AVAILABLE TO OFFER THIS ANIMAL A HOME. WE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT TO HELP BUT TIME SPENT PROCESSING APPLICATIONS WHICH DO NOT PROCEED, TAKE TIME AWAY FROM VALUABLE WORK NEEDED TO SAVE THESE DOGS FROM BEING EUTHANISED.

17.01.2022 WE NEED A FOSTER CARER IN THE BRISBANE, GOLD COAST OR SUNSHINE COAST AREAS Benjamin and Chloe are just the cutest, older couple. They have lived all their lives together and now just need a low energy place to retire. They have been living with a Foster Carer but, due to the Carer's ill health, they need to find a new Foster home ASAP. They need a special type of food but we will supply that, all you need to do is love them - is that too much to ask? They are fully vetted ...and house trained and ready for adoption, maybe you could foster to adopt? If you can give Benjamin and Chloe a place to rest their old bones and the occasional tummy rub, please complete the application to foster on our website www.ppar.com.au If you have any questions, please message the page as we wouldn't want to miss your comment below.
17.01.2022 By desexing your pets, you not only dont contribute to the very large problem of unwanted pets, but you protect your own animal from many conditions and cancers that intact animals are prone to. Undesexed animals can be injured while fighting or roaming for a mate, not to mention the positive effect that desexing can have on behaviours like scent marking or aggression. Many local councils host programs to provide reduced cost desexing for pets so what are you waiting for?

16.01.2022 UPDATE WREN & LOLLY ARE SAFE These 3 girls are in a regional pound. They have been there for a while and their time is almost up. We have a few days to save them, a few days to find a Foster Carer, or THEY WILL BE EUTHANISED BY THE POUND. They’re all young, they’ve all responded well to other dogs at the pound and they’re all desperate for your help. If we can find them Foster Carers, we will transport them to the above areas. ... Now, I’m a total cuddle pup, I love nothing more than a snuggle puddle on the couch with my humans. Because of my age I am still learning my manners, I can jump up a bit, but I am just SO excited. So I will need a family that will be willing to continue my training so I can be the best dog I can be! ... I looOoove kids. My foster Mum has two young children and I just think they are the best. We are helping eachother learn to play nicely. I’m untested with cats but love other dogs. I get a lonely and tend to cry a sad song, so will certainly benefit from having another dog buddy to keep me company when you go out. * child friendly * dog friendly * untested with cats * needs a dog buddy If I sound like a gal you want to get to know, click here to find out more: https://www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-d/search-now//32596
