21.01.2022 Stop using HDPE Blue Strip While it’s not perfect, I like HDPE, (High Density Polyethylene), as a product, but, saying that, there is a major issue with misuse. The blue strip is there to signify potable water, yet I commonly see it used for irrigation, and in one instance for a sewer rising main. I am concerned that the product’s intent has been eroded to the point it no longer has any meaning. I would like to see the designers specify clearly that the pipe is for potable ...water and for plumbers not to use it for any application other than its intended use. So please, Stop using HDEP Blue Strip for irrigation.
