25.01.2022 If you think you need Sports Drinks to help keep you going, hows this for a cheaper option? Researchers compared bananas to carbohydrate sports drinks in cyclists who needed sustained energy for their long rides. They found that the banana offered just as much fuel to the riders as the drink. Turns out, bananas are packed with potassium, fiber, vitamins, and the perfect amount of carbohydrates that provide you with a big boost of natural energy. Plus, bananas are often less than a dollar per fruit, and thats a price you cant beat for so much extra energy!

Thank you Lynne for helping us to make the world a better place! #feelingblessed #premahworkplaces

23.01.2022 Caseworker Debs Story: The mining industry has been my life and my love since starting work as an apprentice Diesel Mechanic at age 18 in a NZ coal mine. During my appreciate years I worked with two men who took their own lives, THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I both witnessed and experienced terrible work place bullying and isolation in the workplace.... After my qualifications were complete I decided to change direction and went into operating different machines in fifo locations in Australia. I saw good money being made and good people being made miserable! Homesickness, depression, relationship problem, diet and lifestyle issues... the list go on. If only companies would put as much effort in Prevention Maintenance of their people as they did with their mechanical machinery! Id learned so much about preventative maintenance both as a mechanic and as an operator... this model is amazing to keep wheels turning. But the PEOPLE ARE BREAKING. Its for this simple reason that Premah was born - Preventative Maintenance for Humans. This is my passion and we can help you to get the right support and education into your workplace. #betterworkplaces #premahsupporttoday #fixpeoplebeforetheybreak

23.01.2022 This a BIG THANK YOU to Pinjarra Football & Netball Club! Thanks to your generous support Homestead For Youth were able to host an additional 4 teenage girls at our recent September 2018 Choose Life Youth Camp out here at the tranquil farm in Meelon, just outside of Pinjarra. The girls aged between 12 and 14 years of age were able to experience a specialist mental health camp including horse riding, tenting, bonfires, cooking, art workshops, soap making workshops a petting ...zoo and mental health workshops facilitated by a Psychologist. CHANGING LIVES One girl with an eating disorder reported that she was able to eat lollies for the first time in over a year and was proud of herself for being able to complete all the activities. A second girl reported that prior to the camp she was anxious and unsure about going as she did not know anyone and suffers social anxiety. Following the camp she has connected with some of the friends she made a told us that she enjoyed the camp and has started to feel confident in herself and appreciate that there are a lot of positive attributes about herself that she likes. She reported that she learnt a lot from the testimonies of the leaders and learning about Identity and self esteem. THANK YOU TO ALL THE LOCAL BUSINESS WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN FOR THESE AMAZING GIRLS- > Check out our video of what the girls wanted to share with you all in the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRdvUvuXPl0&feature=youtu.be

22.01.2022 Every moment of every day we make choices that will impact our futures. Are the choices you are making today taking you towards or further away from the future you want?

20.01.2022 We have a question for you to ponder Are you more important than your car? It may sound like an odd question but think about it. We dont give getting our car a tune up a second thought, however many of us neglect or abuse ourselves by not implementing good mental, physical and spiritual health for ourselves. We SAY we want to look after ourselves but the sad truth is that a lot of the time THINGS like our cars, get more attention and care than we give ourselves. This month ...we are focusing on self care and simple ways we can take steps towards a happier, healthier life. There is a huge amount of data telling us how many are suffering from mental health disorders and percentages of who accesses treatment and who doesnt. However, it is important to focus on what we can do individually to improve our total health. By total health we mean - mental, physical and spiritual well being. So how do we embrace total health? We can do this by embracing healthier options which means choosing to take some preventative steps and being proactive. By doing this we are giving ourselves permission to become healthier versions of ourselves. Think of it as your daily tune up. It doesnt have to be a complicated routine or a massive change to how you go about your day its the small things and your change of focus onto self care that add up to make big shifts in how you feel

19.01.2022 A big thank you to Glenn Mitchell for your eye opening talks at @Shireofmurray - there are now many more mental health 1st aiders in Pinjarra and we are 1 step closer to reducing the suicide rates in Australia.

18.01.2022 Thanks so much to the Pinjarra Rotary Club for organising the mental health forum. It was well run and we all gained so much value information. #premahsponsorprogram #betterworkplaces #Joinforcesandsavelives

18.01.2022 We want to thank Peel Tinting and Windscreens for making a huge difference last month. When a young person called seeking help it was their sponsorship that provided the funding for them to receive counselling :> #Joinforcesandsavelives #mendingminds #premahsponsorprogram

16.01.2022 Just because you are a man does not mean you dont have feelings. You feel, just like any woman feels, you may just express it differently. Dont be afraid to speak about how you feel, it will not only help you, but will also help those that are feeling the same way but are afraid to speak.

16.01.2022 A Premah Perk went to the ladies at The Shire of Murray library who run Rhyme Time with incredible enthusiasm. They bring smiles to the faces of babies and toddlers as they blow bubbles over and over. We hope this bubble gun will save their lungs! #premahperks #constantreminders

16.01.2022 While a safety incident can happen in a moment and in any workplace, a moments forethought can prevent harm. This year the theme for National Safe Work Month is "A moment is all it takes".... Most workplaces will think about injury and incident prevention (which is extremely important) but we challenge you to take it a step further and think about your safety from a health point of view...... It only takes a moment to decide whether to have chips or a chicken salad It only takes a moment to decide to go for a walk instead of watching TV It only takes a moment to take a deep breath and relax your shoulders It only takes a moment to smile Commit to taking a HEALTH safety moment every day!

16.01.2022 We want to thank G & S Contracting for making a huge difference last month. 16.01.2022 Being a manager or supervisor isnt easy. Countless hours being spent managing employees who are suffering from stress, fatigue, home conflict, co-worker disagreements, illness, injuries and any number of emotional or physical problems? It is exhausting and most likely NOT the reason you took on your current role. Imagine NOT having to deal with those issues because they didnt exist 90% of the time... And when they do you just hand ball it on.... Imagine a happy workplace running with minimal disruption...

15.01.2022 Creating change within the workplace is only possible when management care enough about their employees to invest in them. That investment can come in many forms. The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is one of those workplaces committed to change. So much so that they have a Health Coach Naturopath available onsite on specific days to help employees reach their health goals. Well done Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale!

12.01.2022 The way we ask someone if they are OK matters. If you care enough to ask, be sure to ask with compassion and leave judgement at the door.

11.01.2022 Healing from PTSD is not a straight forward process but it can be done. Equine therapy is relatively new but is showing to be promising for war veterans. http://www.abc.net.au//2017-12-12/horses-healing-w/9248962

10.01.2022 To all our Premah clients, friends, family and beyond.... We hope you can speak-up and rise above the stigma of getting help when you are not ok! We are here for everyone of you today and every other day, 365 days. #betterworkplaces ... #premahsponsorprogram See more

07.01.2022 Premah was created with the intent to change the way Employee Support is provided. Our #1 point of difference is that we CARE! This is not about money or ticking a box. This is about CHANGE. Change to improve individual lives. Change to improve workplaces. Change to improve our community. At Premah, we only work with workplaces that want to support and help their employees to be happy and healthy... What kind of workplace is yours?
