16.01.2022 In our second last 'Player of the Week' for the 2020 Tasmanian State League season, North Launceston Football Club's Daniel Withers takes out the honours! Withers kicked 5.3 in a dominant front half performance, while also amassing 21 disposals. The 2020 Tasmanian State League Grand Final proves to be a thrilling affair, with the rampaging North Launceston Football Club taking on TSL's #1 contested ball side in Launceston Football Club. The 2020 head to head record is split at 1-1, with Launceston prevailing in Round 2 by 19 points and North Launceston getting back on top in Round 8 by three straight goals. Launceston’s Jobi Harper and North Launceston’s Josh Ponting headline the midfiel...d battle, with Harper averaging 22.9 disposals a game and Ponting accumulating a 26.3 average Launceston potency up forward will be a big challenge for the Bombers, with Launceston's Dylan Riley (37 goals) and Jake Hinds (18 goals) finishing #1 and #3 for goals kicked this season. WHAT TO WATCH? Make no mistake this game will be won and lost with the midfield, with both sides ranked either #1 or #2 in contested ball, clearances, hit outs and ground ball. Launceston will have to shut down Alexander Lee in the ruck, who is ranked #1 in the competition for hit outs, while North Launceston will need to stop Jobi Harper’s ability to win the ball in tight, where he is ranked #1 for ground ball and #2 for clearances.
