24.01.2022 When doing a aircon service this is not what you want to see. Desicant bag has been pulled into the filter severely restricting gas and therfore oil flow basically cooking the compressor and turning the oil to a black powder. Its the end of the line for this system, to rectify, all components of the system need replacing due to contamination, as you can see there is alot of fine metal flakes over the internal components.

20.01.2022 Another day, another failed toyota cable system. Removed broken cables, clean and grease the blend door shafts and reassemble.

15.01.2022 Replacing a leaking evaporator on a toyota kluger, heaps of work involved to get the system 100% leak free.

14.01.2022 Toyotas idea of vent control system. While most had moved away from much stronger cables to vacuum or electronic servo motors toyota came up with this. Ok when new but after a while the blend doors can become a bit stiff and then they fail. Ive replaced many on hilux mine vehicles that get lots of underdash dust jamming the system up.

13.01.2022 Mazda T4600, getting the ac sorted, found and repaired leak, swapped out drier, evacuated the system and charged. Resulted with a beautiful 3c out of the vents, perfect for this trucks trip to Karratha.

11.01.2022 Slightly different job, fitting a ve fuel pump weld in ring to a fuel tank. The ring required cleaning to get mill scale of and then tinning so it could he soldered to the tank. Old fuel tanks are often solder coated so just needed a clean up before hand. The tank was filled with water and also purged with argon to make it safe as possible before the job began.

10.01.2022 Compressor swap due to noisey pulley bearing. Front end had to come off to pull out the condensor and replace the drier/ desiccant bag, this is essential for long term reliability and a legal requirement whenever the system is opened.

10.01.2022 Had a few interesting jobs of late, health check on a beautiful V Spec R32 GTR, noted a few short and long term issues and advised the customer. Also had a EL XR8 ute that the compressor was change out for another and then regassed.

08.01.2022 Another interesting set up on this supercharged LS2 HQ one tonner, had a under tray mounted electric compressor, a first for me to work on. Gas charge wasnt quite correct, sorted that issue and got her running better than before. The beauty about this set up, with enough battery, it can be made to run without the engine running and no ugly high mount compressor.

08.01.2022 A cold winters day replacing aircon parts made better with hot coffee and choc chip brownies from the customer.

03.01.2022 This little control valve causing this fault on an Audi R8, while it looks nice to be running with vent temps below zero, it doesnt take long before the evap freezes over into a block of ice.
