03.01.2022 Last Wednesday Premium Fresh hosted a delegation of politicians on the campaign trail for the upcoming Federal election. The group included, the Prime Minister The Honorable Scott Morrison, the Deputy PM The Honorable Michael McCormack, The Honorable Guy Barnett MHA, Senators Richard Colbeck and Steve Martin and Braddon Liberal and National Party candidates Gavin Pearce and Sally Milbourne. The Prime Minister was in Forth to announce a $100 million funding package for more Ta...smanian irrigation schemes including the new Don / Forth scheme. As Jim Ertler said to the PM the proposed irrigation scheme gives us security. If we can be assured that we can keep our crops watered and get the quality we need then we can commit to export markets and commit to markets where ever we need to, it’s very important. We were proud to be able to showcase our beautiful paddock of carrots and Tasmanian farmland to the Prime Minister and the huge media contingent. One of the media commented that they had never seen carrots growing and didn’t realise they had green tops! The PM and Deputy PM even took the opportunity to dig some carrots and get their hands dirty with the fantastic NW Coast red soil. See more
