22.01.2022 Hi, I’m Megan Lilburn, creator of Alfie’s Feast. In my house the dog’s dinner is that good even my husband and daughter have been known to tuck happily into it. WHAT?! YEP you read that right! It’s a long standing joke amongst my friends and family that Alfie eats like a king, and his home cooked stews are so good that they are perfectly good for all of us! As a pup he had some gut issues and insensitivities that increased over time. The poor lil guy was doing it tough and ...I was fed up with constant diagnostic investigations and expensive vet visits. Researching into everything he was consuming freaked me out! Long scary and un-pronounceable ingredients that went into commercially made dog foodthat stuff had to go asap! I wanted the best I could provide for my little Alfie, after all we want our fur kids around for as long as is humanly or canine-ly possible. My theory was to heal through wholefoods. I prepared meals for him that I knew were great, however I was unsure if I was hitting all of his nutritional goals. After much investigative work, time with a holistic vet and trial and error with feeding, we finally conquered his issues through a perfectly balanced 50/50% raw and cooked diet, all real food, no manufactured rubbish! It was a revelation! Chatting to other pooch parents has revealed that these issues are common, especially in the mix breed dogs. It’s very hard to know what path to follow with so much information and advice out there. I found the perfect balance, and the best of both worlds incorporating all the research, evidence and science. I was so fired up by it all and the profound success with Alfie, and with my professional chef background, my catering experience and my passion for feeding, I teamed up with a Pet Nutritionist, we created some brilliant recipes, and I started Alfie’s feast. I was so busy spoiling my hooman Mum yesterday and guarding her croissants that I didn't woof it loud to everyone. So here's a big paws up to our Mum's!...
