24.01.2022 Beautiful Manchester day for cricket. 150 for S Smith

24.01.2022 Now that the upcoming tour of Bangladesh (originally scheduled for June this year) has been officially postponed, I thought it might be appropriate to reflect back on the last tour in 2017, just to let you know what we are unfortunately missing out on. This is a real pity, as the number of enquiries and interest had been extremely high. So, below a link to our previous tour. https://www.sporttours.com.au/bangladesh-2017... But briefly the highlights; We were delighted to attend a welcome party at the Australian High commission in Dhaka, along with all the support staff (including coach Darren Lehmann) with drinks at the famous Dizzy Two Ton Bar naturally in recognition of the double century by Jason Gillespie in 2006 in Chittagong. The first Test in Dhaka was not too good, with Bangladesh scrapping home by 20 runs, due mainly to a 10 wicket haul and 84 in the first innings by Shakib Al Hasan. A couple of days R & R at the world famous Cox’s Bazaar. The second Test in Chittagong was great with a seven wicket victory, and 100 to Dave Warner in the first innings and a man-of-the-match performance by Nathan Lyon with 13 wickets. The after match party with the team, where it’s fair to say the Australians know how to celebrate. But what happens on tour, stays on tour.

01.01.2022 Dear Premium Sport Tours Family, Firstly, and most importantly, I hope that you, your family and friends are all well in these difficult times. It will challenge us all, in something that is unprecedented to most of us. All our staff, Ryan, James and Tanya are working on reduced hours and are working from home, but we are all still contactable should you have any queries (albeit with some occasional response delays). ... All current bookings are being attended to, although with significant delays due to the uncertainty of timing / cancellation / rescheduling etc. of all the sporting and travel events. Unfortunately, many of these organizations do not know what the future looks like, so until we receive some clarification from them, we can’t second guess what their responses or actions will be. At Premium, we have taken the necessary (and hard) decisions to restructure our business to ensure that we will be around for many years to come, so please be assured that it will be business as usual. But I can promise you 2 things; Firstly, that all sport will restart in the shortest foreseeable and practical future. Secondly, that all travel will also recommence again this might take a touch longer. When this has cleared up (and it will), you’ll be hankering to see some more sport, and desperate to escape the confines of self-isolation, and travel will be the perfect tonic. Of all the agony and angst that has come out of this, there has been a positive that has taken me a bit by surprise and that is, that people are willing to make the effort to reach out to each other, to see how we are, stay in contact and show some compassion and support for each other. I’ve been touched by some of the people who have contacted me. Many of us have done tours together, and made good acquaintances and close friends, and maybe this is the time to send a message, text or better still a phone call, just to see how someone is going just to make sure someone is OK. Take care. John Schibli Managing Director Premium Sport Tours
