13.01.2022 This is a great opportunity..

12.01.2022 We believe waste is a resource. This project has emerged as a local solution to a potential textile waste issue when 600 chefs jackets were no longer fit-for- purpose after a rebranding exercise by a large local employer. The jackets were donated to our group, with the logos removed, and we have developed this innovative and creative project that has multi-layered benefits. Instead of the business having to pay for disposal of spent uniforms, we intend using these textiles ...as a resource and an educational opportunity to demonstrate sustainable up-cycling practice to industry, teachers and students. This project will become a template for repurposing opportunities as other spent resources become available and new products can be developed. The template will be an ongoing resource for schools, building problem-solving skills for industry while connecting school curriculum to real-world problems. See more
