21.01.2022 Important Update - JobKeeper Employee Extension Treasury has released an updated allowing employees employed at 1 July 2020 (previously 1 March 2020) to be included in JobKeeper. The changes take effect from fortnight 10 (3 Aug to 16 Aug), and could mean $6,000 of payments for each new employee! This is great news for businesses that have had employee changes in recent months. ... 20.01.2022 JOBKEEPER ENROLMENT EXTENSION The ATO have extended the payment date for the first two fortnights, giving you until 8th May** to top up employee wages to $1,500/fn. The enrolments for April have also been extended until 31st May. ... We are happy to see the ATO are recognising the complexity in working out the eligibility criteria for some businesses, not to mention the cashflow pressure of needing to make top up payments before knowing if they are actually eligible. By giving an extra week, the employers can make the top up payment with confidence, knowing they pass the turnover tests, and will get reimbursed by the ATO. **Note: The payment extension only applies to the first two JobKeeper fortnights (30 March 12 April, 13 April 26 April) all future wage payments need to be paid on time to continue receiving JobKeeper subsidy https://www.ato.gov.au/General/JobKeeper-Payment/Employers/

06.01.2022 JobKeeper Employee Payment Reminder With so much at stake, we want to ensure that everyone is aware of the upcoming deadlines. This is a friendly reminder to pay your eligible employees a minimum of $3,000 since the 30th March by tomorrow, 8th May, otherwise you will miss out on the reimbursement by the federal government for the first two JobKeeper fortnights. ... Further, payroll must be processed and paid for the first three fortnights, so a minimum payment of $4,500 since 30th March, to each eligible employee by this Sunday, 10th May, to ensure you are eligible to receive the JobKeeper payments for the first three JobKeeper fortnights. Payroll cycles Regardless of the frequency of regular pay cycles or out of cycle pay periods, or the pay period start and end dates, the $1,500 per fortnight applies to the paydays (payment date) within the defined fortnights and from which fixed fortnight the payment applies. The ATO has issued the following table which outlines each JobKeeper period and the date by which the employees must be paid. If you are unsure whether you have met this obligation, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can review the payments in time.
