20.01.2022 Our Year 10s performed an investigative practical around the reactivity of Alkaline Earth metals in water. This is a reaction of magnesium metal in water with a phenolphthalein indicator. As the reaction requires heat to accelerate, Hydrogen Gas is emitted and the test turns pink meaning Magnesium Oxide is produced.

Highlights today were: knee boarding, burgers for lunch, catamaraning, stand up paddle boarding, hanging out with friends and thinking of seeing our families soon. We had an awesome camp. Praise God for good weather, great memories, and lovely people to hang out with. #bettertogether

10.01.2022 Some delicious aromas have been wafting through the College. Our Year 11s assessment task was to create a new winter menu as if they were to run a canteen, keeping in mind the Government regulations on health and safety. It looks yummy!

10.01.2022 As part of our curriculum, our students get to choose a Service Learning group and are involved in certain activities every Tuesday afternoon. Service to others without expecting anything in return is enriching and fulfilling and also teaches our students a few life skills along the way. Here are just a few Service Learning categories: Gardening (this is also done at various neighbours homes), Creating puppet shows for St Helens Kindergarten, and car washing. The students have a lot of fun doing it and its a nice break away from the books each week.

08.01.2022 Having a great time so far. Canoeing and Hiking with the sun on our backs, but have also experienced patches of wet weather. Lots of wildlife around, wallabies, koalas, kangaroos, snakes, many many birds and lots of cheeky possums. All of the students are in great spirits and have made some lifelong connections on this trip. One last night camping and then home tomorrow! ~Mr Davies

08.01.2022 Online learning is now live! The students that are staying home are able to access their lessons via Zoom. The virtual classrooms enable students to watch and ask questions and work along with their other classmates in real-time. It is going extremely well.

08.01.2022 Highlights from day 2 of Year 8 camp included: knee boarding, kayaking, sailing, stand up paddle boarding, dinner and EVERYTHING! We are having SO MUCH FUN! :)
