23.01.2022 Happy International doggy day to the beautiful girl (for yesterday). ISO life isn’t too bad with this gorgeous girl by my side. Even if most of time she is fast asleep, snoring her head off. Love you Tiff. 22.01.2022 Since daily taking a high strength multi vitamin and mineral supplement it’s amazing how much stronger and longer my nails have grown. Not to mention the improvements in my energy, mood and sleep. I highly recommend that everyone should take a high quality multi vitamin and mineral supplement daily. Unfortunately the world we live in is extremely stressful so our need for minerals and vitamins is higher than normal and the soils where our foods are grown is very depleted in nutrition. For a couple of dollars a day its worth the investment. #naturopath #naturopathy #frankstonnaturopath #guthealth #womenshealth #hormonehealth #foodintolerance #foodintolerancetest #nutitionalmedicine #vitamins #frankstonbusiness #morningtonpeninsulabusiness #frankston
22.01.2022 Doctors who have further qualifications in complementary medicines use have a title "Integrative doctors". The Medical Board of Australia, the bully boys of the... medical profession, have targeted these doctors for a long time, in an effort to prevent them offering more holistic options to their patients. In a gigantic slap-down, over 13,000 submissions received during a six-month "consultation time" have caused the Board to abandon plans to target these practitioners. No press release to the media, no admission of backing the wrong horse - just a backdown from preventing some basic democratic patient rights. What a disgraceful attempt at intimidation. Common sense prevails....... See more

18.01.2022 New research in from the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Whole-fat dairy, unprocessed meat, eggs and dark chocolate are SFA-rich foods with a complex matrix that are not associated with increased risk of CVD. The totality of available evidence does not support further limiting the intake of such foods. https://www.onlinejacc.org///2020/06/16/j.jacc.2020.05.077
17.01.2022 Patient feedback: this lovely patient had unexplained recurring reflux symptoms. After we did a food Intolerance test it was discovered egg, dairy and gluten were all positive food intolerances. After removing the foods the reflux symptoms went away and the patient also dropped three kilos in weight, its a win win! Would you like to know more about our 60 min food IgG food intolerance test? 16.01.2022 Food intolerances are inflammatory foods! Food intolerances are foods that cause inflammation to the cells of the body. After some time of regularly eating intolerant foods, this contributes to irritation, inflammation and damage to the gut lining resulting in leaky gut syndrome. Leaky gut syndrome or the medical term intestinal permeability can contribute to many health symptoms and health conditions. Leaky gut syndrome is a very common cause of auto-immune condi...tions, mood disorders, skin conditions such as acne and eczema, IBS, bloating, heartburn/reflux, joint and muscle pain, upper respiratory conditions such as postnasal drip, chronic sinusitis, asthma, and many others. Do you suffer from one or more of the above symptoms/conditions? You might have a food intolerance? Did you know testing for food intolerances is very easy and can be done in just 60 minutes! At Prescribing Nature, we use the same ELISA IgG food intolerance testing technology as the pathology labs to test specific food antibody intolerance reactions. The only difference from using the labs is you won’t have to wait weeks for the results to come back after the sample is taken. In just 60 minutes your results will be available, which means you can start making dietary changes straight away, to feel better sooner. Want to know more? 15.01.2022 Do you suffer from hormonal or cyclic headaches/migraines? You could have low progesterone! Other common symptoms of low progesterone are low libido, infertility, moodiness, anxiety, depression, weight gain, fluid retention, insomnia, and breast tenderness. Progesterone is a female hormone that’s required to be in the right ratio balance with estrogen. Low progesterone can be caused by chronic stress, poor diet, an underactive thyroid, PCOS, vitamin deficiencies, age, elevate...d prolactin, and estrogen excess. To support optimal hormonal levels, it’s important to address stress and diet and have a comprehensive hormone test to see which hormones are out of balance so they can be corrected with the right treatment. Unfortunately, conventional hormone tests done by your GP provide very limited information and often hormone imbalances go completely missed, even though hormone symptoms are present. I see this happen too many times with my female patients. I only recommend a Comprehensive Saliva Hormone Testing as this type of test shows hormone levels within the whole body and how they are impacting the body from a cellular level. Would you like to know more about hormone testing or low progesterone? 15.01.2022 Did you know Vitamin B12 deficiency is commonly overlooked? It’s scary to me how many times low levels of B12 or B12 deficiency is overlooked or simply ignored? I see this all the time with my patients. They will bring in their pathology results and no one has ever mentioned their B12 levels are getting very low or that they are actually in a deficiency state. Without the right level of B12 in the blood the red blood cells cannot carry oxygen around the body. Every cell, ...tissue and organ in the body requires adequate oxygen at all times, and without oxygen the cells will die. Scary huh? B12 deficiency often goes missed because the health practitioner is unaware of the how to read and interpret B12 test results correctly. People who are at high risk of B12 deficiency: anyone with ongoing gut health issues or gut diseases (crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), food intolerances, coeliac disease, vegans, vegetarians, anyone taking acid suppressing medications, and the elderly. Would you like to know more about this subject or like me to look over your blood results? 15.01.2022 The world is currently in the grips of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which has mutated to allow human-to-human spread. Infection can cause fever, dry cough, fatigue, severe pneumonia, respiratory distress syndrome and in some instances death. COVID-19 affects the immune system by producing a systemic inflammatory response, or cytokine release syndrome. Patients with COVID-19 have shown a high level of pro-inflammatory cytokines a...nd chemokines. There are currently no effective anti-SARS-CoV-2 viral drugs or vaccines. COVID-19 disproportionately affects the elderly, both directly, and through a number of significant age-related comorbidities. Undoubtedly, nutrition is a key determinant of maintaining good health. Key dietary components such as vitamins C, D, E, zinc, selenium and the omega 3 fatty acids have well-established immunomodulatory effects, with benefits in infectious disease. Some of these nutrients have also been shown to have a potential role in the management of COVID-19. In this paper, evidence surrounding the role of these dietary components in immunity as well as their specific effect in COVID-19 patients are discussed. In addition, how supplementation of these nutrients may be used as therapeutic modalities potentially to decrease the morbidity and mortality rates of patients with COVID-19 is discussed. See more
14.01.2022 Does your mood change as your cycle changes? Do you feel not yourself or even like a completely different person around ovulation and/or before your period comes? Emotional changes of anxiety, depression, dark thoughts (even suicidal thoughts), teariness, impulsive behaviour, overthinking, worrying about past events, anger, irritability, emotional eating, strong sugar cravings, insomnia can all be a result of low serotonin. These emotional changes come and go throughou...t the cycle because as your female hormone levels change each month so do your brain chemicals. If you have low progesterone this will impact your serotonin levels and therefore its likely you're not going to feel balanced during these times of hormonal fluctuations. To understand your hormonal levels better and reduce emotional highs and lows throughout your cycle I recommend a Comprehensive Female Saliva Hormone Test. A CFSHT is done in the privacy of your home and shows hormone levels within the whole body, not just the blood. Hormone blood testing done through your GP only shows hormone levels within the blood and not levels within the whole body. This means a hormonal imbalance can often go completely missed although you're clearly experiencing hormonal symptoms. Would you like to know more about hormones or hormonal testing? 09.01.2022 Are today's acid-forming food choices forming tomorrow's chronic diseases? Many of us drive acidity each day and don't realise it. Our kidneys battle to maintain pH balance but can be easily overwhelmed. Over 90% of Australians don't manage to eat the required portions of fruits and vegetables each day, yet this simple step can offset our higher protein intake and restore this balance. Protect your health, and reduce your acidity-driven chronic disease risk with some simple steps - what's hard about that? That's an every day step - no excuses!

05.01.2022 A 2020 study points to the humble apple's ability to mediate significant gut microbial metabolic activity. All it takes is TWO apples a day. In light of the increasing link between gut microbiota and human wellness, this new association is worth exploring, and further vouches for this fruit's superfood and super healer status. "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is more than an old saying! Once again, food choices rise to the surface, but that won't make the front page

05.01.2022 My healthy caffeine free coffee alternative. Since giving up coffee late last year I’ve noticed such a positive change to my overall health. Coffee for me was beginning to control my life. In the morning I would wake up feeling exhausted, moody and mentally drained until I had my coffee. At night I was finding I wasn’t sleeping well either. Since giving up I no longer have the high and lows coffee gives you and I’m sleeping better. I now have caffeine free roasted chicory roo...t. This stuff tastes similar to coffee without the high and lows coffee can give you. Chicory root is also super healthy. Its a great source of polyphenols, antioxidants and inulin a prebiotic fibre that promotes the growth of good bacteria in the gut and keeps the bowels moving. Try this with bonsoy soy milk and xylitol if you like your hot drinks sweet. #naturopath #naturopathy #frankstonnaturopath #guthealth #womenshealth #hormonehealth #foodintolerance #foodintolerancetest #morningtonpeninsulabusiness #frankston #frankstonbusiness See more
04.01.2022 Find out which foods are making you sick in just 60 minutes!!!!! What is a food intolerance? A food intolerance is a reaction to the protein part of a particular food. Unlike a food allergy where the reaction is within minutes or seconds of eating the food, food intolerance reactions are delayed and can take days before the symptoms appear. Are food intolerances common? Absolutely! Millions of people suffer from food intolerances, its estimated 45% of the population may... suffer from one or more food intolerance. How does a food intolerance affect the body? If you're intolerant to particular food it’s good to know because food intolerances weaken the gut lining and cause leaky gut syndrome (medical term: intestinal permeability). Leaking gut syndrome causes poor digestive function (poor breakdown of foods that result in vitamin and mineral deficiencies), systemic inflammation, and weakens immune function. What common symptoms are caused by food intolerances? Weight gain, anxiety (acute & chronic), arthritis, asthma, bed wetting, bloating, bronchitis, chronic fatigue syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea, fibromyalgia, gastritis, headaches, sinusitis, inflammatory bowel disease, insomnia, IBS, itchy skin problems, malabsorption, and migraine. How are food intolerances detected? Food intolerances are hard to distinguish because the food reaction can happen hours or even days after the food is consumed. The best way to tell whether you're intolerant to a particular food/s is through an IgG food intolerance test. World Class, ELISA IgG Food Intolerance Testing is available at Prescribing Nature, and the results are available to you in 60 minutes after the sample is taken. No need to send the sample to a lab and wait weeks for the results to be available. This means you can start avoiding the foods sooner and be on your way to recovery quicker. Want to know more? 03.01.2022 This beautiful patient presented to me with severe hormonal migraines with vomiting, unexplained weight gain, fluid retention, PMS, anxiety, and dizziness. She saw many GPs and had many tests, hormone testing was even done but everything came back completely normal! I ordered a comprehensive saliva hormone test and the results revealed the patient actually had a hormone imbalance that needed to be addressed. Unfortunately, regular hormone blood tests often give very limit...ed information, this is why I recommend my patients to have a comprehensive saliva hormone test to properly assess hormone levels and so the right treatment can be given to relieve hormonal symptoms. 02.01.2022 Joint Pain or Undiagnosed Food Intolerance??? Did you know joint or muscle pain, joint swelling, fibromyalgia and arthritis are very common symptoms of a food intolerance reaction? Food intolerances are extremely common. It is estimate that 45% of the population could suffer from one or more food intolerance! ... Do you have unexplained joint/muscle swelling or pain? You might have an undiagnosed food intolerance. Food intolerance reactions are very different to food allergy reactions. Food allergy reactions occur within minutes of eating a particular food. A food intolerance reaction might not appear for hours or even days after the food is eaten. This slow reaction time can make it impossible to pinpoint which foods are causing the symptoms. A quick and convenient way to test if you have food intolerances is by doing an ELISA IgG specific food antibody intolerance test. At Prescribing Nature, we use the same ELISA IgG food intolerance testing technology as the pathology labs to test specific food antibody intolerance reactions. The only difference is you won’t have to wait weeks for the results back after the sample is taken. In just 60 minutes your results will be available, which means you can start making dietary changes straight away, to feel better sooner. Want to know more? 01.01.2022 Do you suffer from regular migraines? Are you unsure of the cause? Did you know research shows food intolerances to various foods are linked with migraines? ... In one study, researchers found that individuals who regularly experienced migraines were more likely to test positive for food intolerances to common foods. The study also showed people with migraines had a greater number of food intolerances compared to people in the control group who didn’t experience migraines regularly. Amazingly, more than 75% of people in the migraine group no longer experienced regular migraines after doing a food intolerance elimination diet. Food intolerance reactions can be hard to pinpoint because unlike a food allergy reaction where the onset of the reaction is immediate a food intolerance reaction might not present itself for three days after consuming the food. In other words, you might eat a particular food your intolerant too and not have a migraine for three days afterward. In most cases, we don’t remember the foods we ate the day before never mind remembering the foods we ate three days ago. This delayed food reaction can make it absolutely impossible to work out which foods are causing the migraine. At Prescribing Nature, the process of finding out which foods you might be intolerant to has become a lot easier. With an food-specific intolerance test you will know what foods you're intolerant to in just ONE HOUR after the testing sample is taken. An Elisa food-specific intolerance test is the same technology used in the labs. The only difference is you won’t have to wait weeks until the results are available, meaning you can start making dietary changes straight away, to feel better sooner. Once results are in, individualised dietary advice and recipes are provided to make life a lot easier as you transition into avoiding certain foods. Want to know more?
