21.01.2022 Holiday closure information.

20.01.2022 Thanks goes to those who continued the efforts to have Teddy Sheean's acts be recognised.

19.01.2022 On a recent trip to Singapore, I attended the Kranji War Cemetery. It was a seriously warm day and there were two tour groups in attendance, all of whom were showing the due respect expected at such a location. This is the first place I recall going to a Dawn Service as a child... It is beautifully maintained. One of the things my adult brain can now process, is the relatively small number of Australians and Brits interred here, the vast majority being Indian military... ... I include some images here to mark today, Remembrance Day. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. For the Fallen BY LAURENCE BINYON Lest We Forget

15.01.2022 Today of all days, in the Australian calendar, we pause to remember those who have served our country, past and present. We pause to remember those who have paid the supreme sacrifice, we remember those who have served and are still afflicted with their wounds, physical and psychological, and those who have left us too soon. Take a moment today, acknowledge your own service and then acknowledge others who may just need to hear a friendly voice acknowledging the "blank chequ...e" that they once signed upon enlistment. Also, we should pause and remember those at home who supported their loved ones while at war, on deployment, or peace keeping missions. They too serve, often in a forgotten manner. Thank you for your service. https://www.facebook.com/wearegrateful/

14.01.2022 It'll be chooks for you son if you don't work harder. Or the lash.

12.01.2022 We have been working on a project for a while now (well over 12 months). A lady who is an ex-WRAN contacted us looking for something to adorn a gravestone/plaque. WRANS are the Women's Royal Australian Naval Service. The WRANS were formally established in 1942 and were disbanded after the war, recreated and disbanded and recreated, continuing until 1985 when female personnel were integrated into the RAN. As you can imagine, the WRANS are fiercely proud of their history and th...eir service. It pained many of them that they were not able to adorn the final resting place of their comrades with a suitable marker. While this has largely been a labour of love and a really steep learning curve, we were able to create a brass WRANS emblem at 75mm tall. After a little fine tuning of the plug for the mould we created the first of the brass items. In order to proceed with the multiple castings we made four plugs to cast up in brass... (Four at one time makes it easier to do a production run) We are proud to be asked to do this, and I have met a couple of WRANS who were a delight to meet and chat with. It makes what our business does meaningful.. To end this yarn, we are still some time away from final production pieces as we want to bronze the finish to give a little more depth and dimension to the piece. We need to develop a how to document for people to mount them and we need to develop a way to validate the distribution of these items. We estimate approx $110 per unit (inc GST) for the basic item without mounting pins.. We are yet to understand what that looks like. Thanks for you interest so far and we will keep you updated, most likely through the WRANS associations and this page.

05.01.2022 Work continues here at the Presentos lair. We have recently engaged some very talented painters (Not that I am saying Sean is not talented, coz he is much better than me) and work is turning over. You may see some of your orders here along with some special projects we are working on. ... We are still working on a backlog but we will probably be able to take more orders in the new year.

03.01.2022 More of the work in progress.

03.01.2022 Last year Sean and I visited Spectacle Island and a couple of items from HMAS VOYAGER stood out. The first was the ships manfacture/launch/commissioning board (what is it’s proper name?) and the painters dinghy in the process of being restored to how it was after the collision. It was a sobering experience. Lest we forget those who died that night and also those who assisted in the rescue and recovery efforts whose lives would be forever changed.

02.01.2022 T’was the night before Christmas, And all through the crew, some were ploughing through gashies, some having a brew, the Boilers were steady, 2 sprayers and a half, the Steamer and Vappy both sharing a laugh, the Bridge was all darkened, With red lights aglow,... Bridge lookouts all salt sprayed, With no hint of snow, The greenies were sleeping, what else would they do? Whilst the Guts Watch Boiler crew cooked a crayfish or two, In the ops room they plotted, A new possible threat, Ease Up said the Captain, "There’s no trouble yet", In the galley, the Chef’s, Whom no restaurant could beat Were all hard at work, With this year’s Christmas treat, While the screens all lit up, With 8 targets and tow The Turkey and Pork, Were all roasting below, "All clear" says the PWO, "This isn’t a trick", "It’s Christmas Eve, Fella’s, And here comes Saint Nick", No Helo crew needed, All tucked in their racks Whilst Santa alighted, His Sleigh, with a sack, Not toys, nor playstations, No Chockies or tanks, Santa’s sack was full up to the brim, full of thanks, From a nation so grateful and ex-Pussers with a tear, Saying Thanks to the Sailors, Serving our Nation with no fear, So thanks all you Shipmates, You’re doing us proud. And we’ll shout it from the mast head, And we’ll shout it out loud, Never leave a shipmate behind See more

02.01.2022 Good winter’s day all, Just a quick update. This is the painting bench right now and Sean and our painting team are working very hard on the backlog of orders.... We think we have caught up on all ships badge orders where you have paid up front. If you are one of these customers who has paid but not yet received your product, please get in touch with us at [email protected] as our technology let us down for a bit but we think we have resurrected the files. (Touch wood). The other image of multiple badges is the work of one of our painters and we are very pleased that they have met our exacting standards. Take a look at the CESSNOCK ships badge. The detail is exquisite. We keep working through the orders and are catching up, albeit that it feels like the never ending story for now. Yours aye, The PRESENTOS team.

02.01.2022 Good day folks, We have spent some time looking at our pricing arrangements for our hand made products. The time, skill and materials costs have been mounting over the three years we have been making the plaques with ships badges on them. On reflection, we have noted that the price we were selling at had been stable for over 8 years.... We have chosen to continue to source our wooden boards from Australian suppliers rather than importing from Asia. It has always been part of our business ethos to keep money in Australia to help other small businesses remain solvent. There are precious few suppliers of these products in Australia, and they are hard to find. We have also used more modern materials to cast the badges with (far more resilient that fibreglass resin and significantly more cost) along with a more resilient mounting adhesive. To that end, we have reviewed our pricing structure to ensure that we remain in business and to reflect the quality of the work we are turning out to the world. We look forward to your continued support of our bespoke made product. (And we have a significant backlog of orders right now. Estimated delivery is three months minimum. Feel free to order and we will send invoices as they are ready to deliver.)

01.01.2022 Tomorrow, one hundred years ago, at 11am on the 11th of November, hostilities ceased and the guns fell silent on the Western Front. This day and time has become universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in that war. We take the time to pause and reflect, and commemorate all of those who have fallen in battles, died of wounds and those whose lives were foreshortened as a result of their service, regardless of the conflict. This year marks the centenar...y of the Armistice. This day now known as Remembrance Day and sits within the commemorative days where we take a moment to reflect. Often it is difficult for those who lost loved ones where there is not a place to visit, to mourn, perhaps to leave flowers or a memento. We offer the following lamentation by Eileen Mahoney to allow those of us who know/understand this commitment to service, in particular Navy sailors, the Merchant mariners and to all those whose resting places are unmarked at sea. Lest we forget. In Waters Deep. In ocean wastes no poppies blow, No crosses stand in ordered row, There young hearts sleep beneath the wave , The spirited, the good, the brave, But stars a constant vigil keep, For them who lie beneath the deep. Tis true you cannot kneel in prayer, On certain spot and think, He’s there, But you can to the ocean go , See whitecaps marching row on row. Know one for him will always ride In and out with every tide And when your span of life is passed, He’ll meet you at the Captain’s Mast. And they who mourn on distant shore, For sailors who’ll come home no more, Can dry their tears and pray for these, Who rest beneath the heaving seas. For stars that shine and winds that blow, And whitecaps marching row on row, And they can never lonely be, For when they lived they chose the sea. Copyright October 11, 2001 by Eileen Mahoney
