25.01.2022 Thumbelina is well underway! Join us on an adventure with Thumbelina as she is taken by a toad to marry the toad’s son. Luckily, a fish and butterfly help her escape. We also get to meet her beetle and mouse friends!! Through her journey, Thumbelina’s perseverance pays off. She finally meets her flower fairy prince, they marry, and she receives her very own pair of wings! #onceuponaballetsunshinecoast #ppa2019

22.01.2022 Drum roll please..... Introducing our wonderful new teacher Miss Emily! (You may have seen her sneaking around backstage at our concert!) Have a read below at what Miss Emily has to say.... Her experience and qualifications speak volumes! She is the perfect addition to our team , with her joint love of dance and working with children! We are excited to see her fun, vibrant personality shine in 2019! ... Welcome on board Miss Emily! My name is Emily Kennedy and I moved to Buderim in January 2018, from England, UK. I am 23 years old and in September 2017 I gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Childhood Studies. I also hold a Foundation Degree, in Early years and I am a qualified Dance teacher holding a Diploma in Dance teaching along with a Double Distinction Diploma in Performing Arts. Starting dance at the age of 3, I went on to compete in numerous competitions all over England, reaching the all England finals, and completing British theatre Dance Association Vocational exams in Ballet, Tap and Jazz as my main disciplines. I am also professionally trained in Lyrical, Contemporary and Commercial Jazz. Since being in Australia I have been lucky enough to continue working in a day care, expanding my knowledge and passion for children’s child development. However my dream has always been to use my true passion of dance and health & fitness to support and enhance children’s development. I believe children learn so much through dance not only academically but about themselves and find a way to feel comfortable, accept themselves and appreciate others. Every child is different and that’s the beauty of it. I am extremely excited to put my two passions together and join the Prestige Performing Arts family and look forward to working with and building close relationships with new families in 2019. 21.01.2022 GUEST TEACHER We are SO excited for our juniors who get the privilege of having Miss Jacinta teach both this week and next!! Here is a little about Miss Jacinta’s achievements in the industry...... Jacinta Joy has been performing since a young age. She is a multi-disciplinary performer who is passionate about live performance which has led her to perform in over 37 productions - 14 of which have been musicals. Early on, she attended the Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence for 8 years. Then, after establishing herself in Brisbane, she has ventured into the modelling and film industry while teaching dance at various schools. In 2017, she studied at the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre to further her skills. Jacinta now works in the Entertainment Department at Aussie World as one of their resident performers. She has pioneered the dance facet of the Entertainment Department with writing and choreographing shows for the park. Career highlights include featuring in the Warner Bros. Movieworld Star Tour Commercial, playing the lead role in an Australian Tour of Little Red in The Hood with Jally Entertainment, and most recently A Very Naughty Christmas with Understudy Productions at the Brisbane Powerhouse last year.
