24.01.2022 Sometimes things get a bit saucey on our tours, particularly on our Paddock, Plate & Pantry Tour. Check out the rich textures of this Tomato Kasoundi from Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company. A traditional Indian recipe using fresh Tasmanian ingredients - it is full, rich and firey!

22.01.2022 Its time to drive off into the sunset - for now at least. In response to the lack of visitors, likely future bookings and the need for distancing, we are taking an early hibernation and will cease touring until further notice. We will be back! In the meantime, stay safe, stay well and please support our local businesses as best you can. Cheers from Eamonn and the Prestige Team.

22.01.2022 Its a late harvest at Bridestowe Lavender and we are still seeing some deep purple flowers. Join us on a day tour including lunch at Leaning Church Vineyard and berry picking Hillwood Berries Farmgate.

21.01.2022 We dont usually send our guests off into the vines but Dawn and Gillian were determined to work off a little of the days indulgence. Theyre yet to return. So if you spot a couple of lovely ladies in floral tops among the vines. Please return them to us! (STOP PRESS. Doug at Swinging Gate Vineyard and Cellar Door found them!)

20.01.2022 Theres nothing like a mouthful (or two) of bubbly to get you bouncing on a rainy day - and look at the bounce in these bubbles! Goaty Hill Wines Sparkling Rose - described as "Pink, Raspberries, Delightful"... and deliciously bubbly.

19.01.2022 Proud to be included as one of the "ventures at the vanguard of a new Launceston" in Australian Gourmet Traveller. Northern Tasmania and the City Of Launceston is punching well above its weight in the food and wine scene! https://www.gourmettraveller.com.au//launceston-travel-gui

19.01.2022 It was a birthday treat for our group of guests from the UK this week, who loved visiting Launceston and the Tamar River on the southern side of the globe. They even got to taste some of the raw product - grapes straight off the vine thanks to Rod at Velo Wines.

18.01.2022 The 2020 vintage is now under wraps, veiled in netting throughout the Tamar Valley. Harvest will begin in coming weeks, but in the meantime the grapes are protected from meddlesome birds that are trying to muscle in on the first tasting! Tamar Valley Wine Northern Tasmania

17.01.2022 We cant take you there any time soon, but this offer from Loira Vines - the Tamar Valleys petite vineyard with a big heart - is a great opportunity to enjoy their quality wines. If youve visited Loira on one of our tours, order a dozen and take a trip down memory lane!

17.01.2022 While some vineyards have wine dogs - this vineyard has wine chickens! Fortunately they have a taste for snails and are happy to leave the grapes alone.

17.01.2022 In these uncertain times, some things remain certain. The wine will not run dry and the stories will not stop flowing. Almost all Tamar Valley cellar doors are open and we are still touring to Tasmanias best Wine, Wilderness and Wildlife destinations. We are in overdrive, adding to our already high standards of cleanliness, flooding our vehicles with disinfectant. And as always, small groups are guaranteed!

17.01.2022 Red, white and blue - what a great combination! I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend fittingly. We most definitely are!

15.01.2022 People ask "When is the best time of year to visit Tasmania". The answer is: "Anytime"! This information board at Cradle Mountain shows how the park changes with the seasons. Expect wildflowers and wildlife in summer, clear days and vibrant colours in autumn, snow falls and carpets of deep green mosses in winter, and new growth and tumbling waterfalls in spring. Now, the question is: When is the best time for YOU to visit Tasmania? Because we love it all the time!

14.01.2022 Its important to get your priorities right!

14.01.2022 We are passionate about Pinot in the Tamar Valley. From this humble grape, local vineyards are producing fine Pinot Noir and some of the worlds best sparkling wines. Want to learn more? Join us on a wine tour! We promise youll love it as much as we do.

13.01.2022 Wouldnt you love to dive straight in! You can explore the wild coastline and pristine waters of Tasmanias spectacular east coast in a comfortable day trip from Launceston. Our Bay of Fires Day Tour and Wineglass Bay Day Tour each explore different sections of the east coast - its crystal clear, dont choose, do them both!

13.01.2022 Its going to be an interesting vintage in the Tamar Valley with our on-again/off-again summer, but then something tells me there are higher powers at play here.

13.01.2022 Youve gotta love summer days in the vineyard. Vews of plump green vines and tastings of refreshing fine sparklings to order.

13.01.2022 Forget the heavenly white beaches, crystal waters and monolithic boulders, its a body of microorganisms that have made Tasmanias Bay of Fires one of the States top destinations. The brilliant orange lichen that grows on the rocks here is akin to an artists flourish completing a beautiful artwork. Natures done a fine job dont you think?

12.01.2022 We are running a shuttle this weekend to Vinyl in the Vines at Tamar Ridge Wines. Tunes, Pinot and Gin - sounds like a perfect Sunday! Book via the link below.

12.01.2022 Simon at Bell & Gong approaches wine-making with the precision and dedication of a master mariner - and its no wonder as thats his previous profession. He is passionate about his wine and it shows in the award-winning handcrafted wines this family-owned vineyard produces. Their 2017 Pinot Noir won three gold medals nationally and internationally! Youll be treated to an exclusive tasting on our Paddock, Plate & Pantry tour.

12.01.2022 We can't take you there any time soon, but this offer from Loira Vines - the Tamar Valley's petite vineyard with a big heart - is a great opportunity to enjoy their quality wines. If you've visited Loira on one of our tours, order a dozen and take a trip down memory lane!

11.01.2022 There's necessity and then there's desire. Which is which in this package bound for Brisbane with love from Swinging Gate Vineyard and Cellar Door?

11.01.2022 Now here is a mass of straws that we hope will last a thousand years! These straws descending from the cave roof are slowly growing longer and may one day reach the cave floor to create a maze of tiny columns. Check them out on our Caverns & Creatures Day Tour.

09.01.2022 What a treat. Collectors Edition 2019 Swinging Gate Ros personally signed by Doug & Nellie!

09.01.2022 Launceston moonshine - another addition to the long list of finely distilled local experiences!

09.01.2022 Wouldn't you love to dive straight in! You can explore the wild coastline and pristine waters of Tasmania's spectacular east coast in a comfortable day trip from Launceston. 09.01.2022 Wow. Check out this young Tassie Devil taking in the odours of its onlookers on our recent day tour. That keen nose can pick up scents a kilometre away - so perhaps it wasnt us that piqued its curiosity?

09.01.2022 Charming, classy or just plain fun - the cellar doors of the Tamar Valley offer a great choice of styles and experiences - and theres over 30! Its a hard call but we are careful in our choice of the ones we visit - we want you to taste and experience a mix of the best the valley has to offer.

08.01.2022 WE ARE BACK ON THE ROAD - and driving super-carefully! Just when we thought it was safe to come out, Launceston experienced its heaviest snowfall in 100 years! Any snow at all here is a freak occasion but this one is off the charts. Tasmania - you never cease to amaze.

06.01.2022 Are you thinking about exploring Tasmania? Hold that thought! Its only a matter of time until were back on the road guiding guests to the best of Tasmanias wine, wildlife, and wilderness. In the meantime, please drop us a line, give us a buzz or check out our website to see how we can help start your next adventure!

06.01.2022 Theres necessity and then theres desire. Which is which in this package bound for Brisbane with love from Swinging Gate Vineyard and Cellar Door?

06.01.2022 Imagine the sense of wonder when the first people chanced upon this view. No doubt it was the same feeling Gustav Weindorfer had in 1910 leading him to campaign for the area to be "a National Park for the people for all time". Since then, thousands have followed, making this one of Australias most famous national parks. But such is the magic of Cradle Mountain, that every visit draws awe, whether its your first or 30th visit. We feel it every time we visit and we know you will too.

05.01.2022 Meet Cinnamon, Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuarys lizard with attitude. Cinnamon is a Blue-tongue Lizard, but not an albino as many may think. She is lacking the darker skin pigment melanin, but has plenty of the orange pigment carotene. This makes her the equivalent of the reptile worlds red-head. Luckily for her, the cat dragged her inside 31 years ago and she has lived a long comfortable life at Trowunna ever since. You can meet her in person on our Cradle or Caverns & Creatures Day Tour - dont mind her attitude, shes really a sweetie.

04.01.2022 Meanwhile nature continues to do its thing in its wild and unpredictable way!

04.01.2022 Theres some things our guests say better than we do!

03.01.2022 Odd behaviour from the Devils today - do you think theyre trying to tell us something?

03.01.2022 We recommend a daily soaking - especially in the current environment! Fabulous wine art from Pipers Brook Vineyard.

02.01.2022 Look up and you could be anywhere... #dreamtraveler #tasmania

01.01.2022 Take your shoes off and sink your toes into the squeaky sands of the Bay of Fires. This beautiful beach is a treat for all of the senses!

01.01.2022 Now this would be perfect during isolation. Can you imagine all of the neighbourhood parents running towards it with joy as it came around the corner! What do you think its calling tune should be?
