18.01.2022 Well, Stage 4 lock down is pretty tough isn't it! Preston Family Medical remains open, normal hours, six days a week. We are seeing everyone via telehealth initially then assessing need and safety for coming into the practice for face-to-face consultation if needed. We need to offer face to face consultations for childhood immunisation, urgent procedures (skin cancers, abscess, wounds) and some examinations. Most other care can be provided very well via telephone or video telehealth. Under the current stimulus package, all telehealth consultations are bulk billed so there is no gap payment for telehealth consultations. Dr Simon Wilson

12.01.2022 Keeping you safe 90% of our consultations are happening with telehealth - the phone or video. This saves you driving about, protects you and protects us from possible Covid19 or influenza exposure. This also means there are less people in the waiting room so when you do need to come in - vaccination, wound care, procedures, blood tests - there are less people overall in the clinic. Other innovations are our robotic 1.5m sign at the front desk - too close and it will beep at you and flash red! Step back to 1.5m and it will stay a happy green!
