25.01.2022 Wow! Another week done and dusted at PRLAC!!! A massive thank you to the athletes, families and parents who made today possible! Parents, thank you to those that helped! We saw the enthusiasm around the venue with parents wanting to help and we love that! The more the better!!!! As the weeks go on and more events are scheduled during the competition, we do really rely on you to help run smoothly! It was great to see the helpers out there and even those out at discus watching ...the SIMPLE and EASY roles that we require to be filled! Congratulations to the athletes. Yet again, you were TERRIFIC! Each week you continue to improve and develop your athletics skills and that is shown by how much fun your having!!! Athletes, remember to BE YOUR BEST and focus on the improvement and enjoyment that Little Aths brings! Unfortunately we did start a little bit late. To prevent this in future weeks, if we are able to have parents come down a tad earlier anytime between 7am and 8am, we will be able to get everything set up quicker which will then allow us to begin on time! We did have three committee members at the track to set up this morning, if we are able to get parents out of bed a little bit earlier to come on down and help set up it would be greatly appreciated!!! Having a couple of people to set up does make it difficult to get everything ready in time especially if we have a big program planned. There will be a few important posts during the week so keep an eye out for important info and have a lovely rest of our weekend!

23.01.2022 Exciting news from LAVic!

23.01.2022 AMAZING NEWS from the Premier today! ZERO CASES and the easing of restrictions!!!! With this, community underage sport can return!! You know what that means? Little Aths will be back VERY VERY SOON!! You beauty!!! We will now await communication from LAVic and work with the Darebin Council before we announce more information regarding the commencement of the season but this is great news! It will be a little different but it’s gonna be awesome to be back! Also, to effective...ly run our Little Aths season as smoothly as possible, we still require some more committee members! If you want to contribute to the continued success of a PRLAC, we would really appreciate your help! No matter your skills, every bit of help is welcomed at PRLAC!! A brand new track so what better time to join?! Contact us for more info via DM, previous posts or calling our President Shayne on 0413 138 552 See more

16.01.2022 It’s gonna be a warm one on Saturday so SLIP SLOP SLAP! Make sure you wear sunscreen, a hat and remember to stay hydrated throughout the morning. As Aths is in the morning though it won’t get up to the scorching thirties like it will in the arvo but make sure your smart as we don’t want anyone getting burnt or dehydrated! ...

12.01.2022 WE NEED YOU!!! Remember, it isn’t too late to express your interest in helping out down at the club! We are still on the hunt for volunteers to join committee or just help out each Saturday down at the club once we get onto Little Aths very soon! Without helpers, volunteers and enough members on committee, the club won’t be able to operate. We have a small group of dedicated committee members doing their hardest to make things happen but we still require more committee memb...ers and even volunteers on a Saturday morning for things like run events, help in the Canteen, assist with admin work etc. Remember the old saying? Many hands make light work! The more volunteers we can get, the less work there will be for everyone involved! Please, have a think to yourself if you would like to make a difference at PRLAC or you know someone who might be interested! With brand new facilities at the lake, what better time to be involved than NOW!!! If you are interested, know of anyone that might be interested please let us know via DMs for further details or you can give our President Shayne a call on 0413 138 552. Each and every bit of help is very much appreciated. #PRLAC

12.01.2022 Please check your emails as you should’ve received an email from LAVic- please update your details when you get the opportunity! Once we’ve received communication from LAVic when the season can start and what format that will be, we will be in communication with everyone via email, Team App and our social media accounts! We can’t wait to see the amazing PRLAC families once again!

12.01.2022 RESULTS HQ!!! Results HQ is used to keep track of our athletes performances and the best part for you is that you can see it too! Once athletes are registered you will receive access to Results HQ. We haven't put results in yet as the majority of our athletes are trial athletes so once we have resumed into normal competition with registered athletes, we will input results so you can see at home! After each weeks competitions once we've inputted the results into the online sys...tem, you can log on to view individual athletes results. This shows PBs (we have something special planned about PBs so watch this space), season bests, and a progress on how athletes perform week in week out. There are some awesome features on Results HQ so once registered it is worth having a look. It is awesome! Visit www.resultshq.com.au and log in with your registration user name and password (what you used to register online with) If you do not know your password, go to https://resultshq.com.au/Login/forgotpassword and enter your registered email address (that you use with LaVic). Your password will then be emailed to you.

10.01.2022 Again many thanks to Coles and Little Athletics Australia!!! We are incredibly appreciated!

10.01.2022 Great news today from the Premier that restrictions for underage outdoor community sports could be lifted to allow a return to Little Aths in early November!! We are still awaiting confirmation from LAVic however this is positive news today and we anticipate communication from them during the week! When we have finer details we will ensure that everyone is notified of this.

08.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID CHANGES!!! Thanks so much to everyone who abided by the protocols last weekend. You were fantastic! Kids were great continuing to sanitise their hands so keep up the good work! Changes are coming this week though:... *There is no longer a cap on how many spectators come with athletes (i.e. other parents, guardians and siblings can now attend) however the maximum cap overall is 500 patrons. *Facemasks must be worn if you are unable to social distance so make sure you still bring yours just in case! *When helping at events, if you are unable to social distance, a mask is to be worn- hopefully this doesn’t make people reluctant to help because we need parent helpers! A common sense approach is encouraged for masks at events. *When you volunteer, you are to continue to sign your name on the sheet at each event you help at. If you have any queries please speak to us! We can’t wait to see you on Saturday morning nice and early ready for a morning of Little Aths!

07.01.2022 The Preston Reservoir Little Athletics Centre are thrilled to be a recipient of a Coles Little Athletics Community Fund grant. The money received will fund the purchase of new equipment for our Little Athletes! The new equipment will be beneficial to all current and new athletes at Preston Reservoir not just for the upcoming 2020/21 Little Aths season but far into the future! Thank you to Coles for selecting our centre, it is very much appreciated! https://littleathletics.com.au/funding-relief-to-help-aust/

05.01.2022 Our AGM will be held online at 2pm on Sunday 22 November. If you are interested in joining please email us at [email protected] so we can send you the link. Please remember, we still have positions available on committee for anyone considering helping the club out this season. All help is greatly appreciated because if we have not enough committee members and volunteers, unfortunately the club is unable to operate! Be the one that stands up and puts their hand up to join committee- there will always be a role for anyone that wants to provide their assistance!

04.01.2022 Awesome news from LAA!!! Thanks Coles!!!!!

03.01.2022 Great to see Australian athletes doing so well overseas! The future of Aussie Aths is incredibly bright!

02.01.2022 On Saturday, we presented our Preston Reservoir Gift winners (for those athletes that attended on Saturday and won placings during the Gift. Introduced in 2017, the Preston Reservoir Gift is a race that is held between the fastest eight timed athletes for 100m throughout the season and this race is held during our Centre Championships. The Senior (Under 13 to Under 16) and Junior (Under 10-Under 12) 100 metre Preston Reservoir Little Athletics Gift will be run on Championship... Weekend. Qualification will be based the 100-metre time recorded during centre completion. The top 8 male and 8 female athletes for both senior and junior races will given the opportunity to run in the 100 metre Gift. If an athlete chooses not to run, then the athlete with the next fastest time will be offered the opportunity to compete in the Gift. To be eligible to compete at Centre Championships, including the PRLAC 100 metre Gift, athletes are required to have participated in a minimum of 50 per cent of Centre competition during the current season and a parent/guardian of each athlete is expected to officiate or help out on competition days during the current season. Athletes who qualify for PRLAC 100 metre Gift must also compete at the Centre Championship. If the PRLAC 100 metre Gift is not run due to inclement weather or unforeseen events placing will be awarded based on athletes’ season best time for the 100 metres. As the Handbook states, the result was decided based on the athletes best times for the 100m over the season due to the inability to run because of COVID-19. Both winners of the Senior Gift (Sara Rottura- Girls, and Connor Matzkows- Senior) were in attendance and were presented with their sash and medals while Senior Girls Runner Up, Maddison Matzkows and Junior Girls Third Place, Maddison Thompson. Thank you to those athletes that attended and we look forward to building the hype around the Gift this season as the date draws closer! Keep an eye on the noticeboards and updates here on socials because once registrations have been taken and we properly begin our season, we will be revealing the 'rolling leaderboard' for the 100m Gift athletes qualification! Keep an eye out!!

01.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder to the community to ensure that the track at Edwardes Lake is being used appropriately including no bikes, scooters etc as this can cause damage to the track. Also, a reminder to keep your dogs on a lead around the track! We look forward to seeing our Little Athletes back at the track very soon!

01.01.2022 Grand Final Day today!!! Who’s gonna win the big one? Cats or Tiges?
