18.01.2022 Dental health week tip on Diet and Nutrition To ensure that your diet doesn't negatively affect your teeth, there's a few key things to keep in mind: 1. Drink lots of water ... 2. Limit snacking between meals 3. Watch what you eat It is not just the obvious sweet foods and drinks such as lollies and soft drinks that can cause decay. Frequent snacking on foods with hidden sugars like biscuits, crackers, cereals, chips and even dried fruit (these foods break down into sugars in the mouth) can cause acid attacks on your tooth enamel. 4. Chewing sugar-free gum (and that’s the crucial qualifier, it must be sugar-free!) for 20 minutes after eating can prompt your mouth to produce more saliva, which helps neutralise decay-causing acid attacks.

17.01.2022 We hope this video shows the importance of proper hand washing to make sure the soap is applied to all areas of the hands (as the black dye shows in this video). Anything less and you will not be able to wash off any viral contamination. Please take your time and wash properly especially before you eat and when you have arrived back home. https://youtu.be/TLMGoGIaSJM

17.01.2022 As we reach the end of Dental Health week this video sums up how to maintain a clean healthy set of teeth. If you have not seen your dentist in the past 6 months we encourage you to do so to avoid painful costly problems that can arise. Remember early detection and prevention is not only cost effective but also most times a painless outcome

14.01.2022 A Peaceful end to a busy week! We hope you all have a great weekend! -Prestons Dental Team!

13.01.2022 ***Coronavirus update**** Dear all patients, The Prestons Dental team would appreciate your cooperation in limiting the spread of the corona virus. We are not allowing any appointments to patients who have travelled overseas in the last 2 weeks or have been in close contact with family or friends who have done so. We also ask all patients who are experiencing any of these symptoms such as: runny nose, sore throat, coughing, fever, shortness of breath and/or muscle aches and p...ain, we ask that you contact us immediately to reschedule your appointment for a minimum of 2 weeks. Whilst there is a shortage of masks and various sanitization, rest assured we are currently well stocked in the short term to make sure we continue to deliver the highest level of infection control measures and an impeccable clean surgery which we are well renowned for. We will have hand sanitization available to all patients in the waiting room and all patients will be asked to use a disinfectant mouthwash prior to each treatment. Regular sprays of each room between patients will be done to reduce aerosol risk. The care and safety of our patients is our number one priority. We appreciate your understanding with this matter. Prestons Dental

10.01.2022 Its dental health week! Some tips on teeth brushing If you're like most people, there’s not a whole of brushing going on. In fact, only 50% of Australians brush twice a day. The reality is that a quick, occasional dash along your teeth with a hope and a prayer is not going to cut it. As your dentist will tell you, you need to brush for at least two minutes twice a day, taking care to use a soft-bristled toothbrush (they're less damaging to your teeth and gums than their harder counterparts) to clean your teeth systematically along all surfaces, always brushing in small, circular motions

09.01.2022 Coronavirus and Dentistry** Our Industry and staff have been on top of all the latest updates to keep you and our staff safe. Dental Surgeries in our country are one of the most cleanest places to be at. Whilst we cannot offer any toilet paper, rice or flour what we can guarantee you is a continuation of an ultra clean and safe dental surgery... On top of our already *strict* and *rigorous* infection control, decontamination and cleaning we always do, we have implemented the following EXTRA initiatives (which some may say is over the top, but we wouldn’t have it any other way ) to keep you and our staff as safe as possible during this period of time. For the past month we have turned away and continue to, any patient or close family and friend that has been overseas, in isolation or exhibiting any signs of sickness. This includes all of our staff. We have started taking the temperatures of our patients and staff daily. All patients have been screened at least three times before any teatment is done. We have spaced out all waiting room chairs and you will notice all magazines have been removed and all non essential treatment has been rescheduled and apppintments spaced out. Hand Sanitizer is given to all patients when they arrive and alcohol wipes when they finish. We have yet to employ a security guard to prevent people runnng off with these. All patients are given a special antiviral mouthwash to use before treatment is commenced. All Common areas such as door handles, chairs etc, are disinfected with hospital grade alcohol wipes hourly and hospital grade disinfectant is sprayed into the room between each patient. We are well stocked with staff protective wear, high grade disinfectant wipes/sprays/ gels/mouthwash to provide our patients and staff an extremely safe and clean dental surgery. We ask you to be patient and understanding with the repetitive questions and assesments by our staff and whilst we always love to high five and shake hands with our patients, for the next few months we will only accept gentle foot kicks In the mean time, stay safe, wash hands continuously and we will keep you updated if there are any changes to the practice. Last but certainly not least, do not hesitate to contact us or via any of our social media platforms if you cannot leave the house or are unsure if you should leave the house and you would like some dental advice
