24.01.2022 Check out this trove of lost Trugo artifacts just discovered by Reservoir Trugo Revival 2020 including trophies and signage from the golden days at Preston Trugo Club

22.01.2022 Marn Grook, Australian Rules Football and Trugo - there aren't that many truly Aussie games we can lay claim to. Trugo is one of them, invented in the 1920's at the Newport rail workshops in Melbourne's western suburbs. Presumably some bored rail workers had a hand in it - the pitch is the same length as a red rattler train carriage, the goals the same width as the aisle between the seats, the mallet borrowed from the tool shop and the 'wheel' or rubber stopper they hit was an internal component of the train carriage buffers. Pictured - a Tait (red rattler) leaving the Newport workshops bound for Resa'!

14.01.2022 We're still patiently waiting for permission from Darebin City Council to play at Preston Trugo Club - So right now you're best best for a good tonk in the north is this open day at Reservoir on Saturday. Featuring live music by the Temperence Society, a BBQ, free Trugo and more!!! We'll be there, so come and say hi if you want to get involved and help save Preston

14.01.2022 Exciting times for Trugo in Darebin - our sister club Reservoir Trugo Revival 2020 is having an open day on 29th Feb. We’ll be there to lend a hand and have a tonk. Come and say hello if you’d like to get involved at Reservoir or Preston

11.01.2022 When we visited the old Preston Trugo clubhouse last year we were totally gutted to find the place had been cleaned out. Yesterday we were relieved to find a haul of old gear at Reservoir including mallets, catchers, mats and signage. When the shed door opened is was like time had stood still - a credit to the players who packed up after their last round of Trugo so many years ago.

10.01.2022 We made history today - a Trugo mallet was swung at Preston Trugo Club for the first time in some 40 odd years. There's a long way to go yet - hopefully VicTrack and Darebin City Council will support a community open day in March/April.

09.01.2022 'Cooler than lawn bowls'!!! Trugo revival feature in The Age today https://www.theage.com.au//trugo-revival-players-bring-biz

05.01.2022 The Preston Trugo Club is located on VicTrack land next to the Preston train station. When level crossing removal works begin shortly the club will most probably be demolished The good news is the Level Crossing Removal Project will open up two MCGs worth of green space. We're hoping Trugo will be considered in the redesign of this new area. And before it goes, we'd like to have one last round of Trugo for old times sake - a time for past players to reminisce, a new generation of players to emerge and for the whole community to enjoy

04.01.2022 The Preston Trugo Club closed up shop in the 1980's and has been abandoned ever since. Sure, the buildings are crumbling but the greens are in not bad nick are are still regularly mown. We want to bring this important part of Preston's history back to life. For the last year we have been working with the City of Darebin and hope to have some good news soon. We'll keep you updated on developments as they happen. Please like and share this page with your friends. You don't have to be a Trugo nut - with a bit of luck this unique green space in the heart of Preston (next to the train station) will become a vibrant place for the whole community to meet, play and socialise

01.01.2022 The Age filmed a short doco' on Trugo at Footscray Trugo Club last week. Check it out!

01.01.2022 Hmmm no mention of the Preston Trugo Club in the Level Crossing Removal Project community feedback report released today.
