25.01.2022 Hello friends, in this video, I'll show you an exercise that can help you improve your everyday function by targeting the large muscles of your Glutes and Lats ...concurrently. These muscles are connected via the Posterior Oblique Sling, and is a primary driver for locomotion (walking, running) as well as lifting (lift an object from the ground, holding it and carrying up a flight of stairs). I do this exercise as a warm up drill before my heavy lifting, Farmer's walk etc. All you need is some resistance band and floor space. See more
25.01.2022 Taco Tuesday everyone! Covid restrictions or not, keep on grinding and putting in the effort. Im just like eveyelse, some days I can take on the world other days, my batteries are flat..Tuesdays seem the least motivating for me, I was close to calling it quits for training today, but I still pushed through and stick with the plan, with a little help from my hand written on the wall training plan! #keeptraining #trainingmotivation #dailygrind
21.01.2022 At the conclusion of todays training 5x500m rower sprint, I decided to go balls to the wall effort for time. I managed 1 min 35.7 sec..not too bad for a Gen X. So heres a kick Papa Rays ass and shut him up challenge. Beat my time and the $10 is yours, to be fair, its 1:45 for our women. Open to all Primal members. I know lot of you want to kick me in the butt and shut me up! Lets do this!

21.01.2022 Here's a simple technique you can do to keep yourself more accountable with training. It's a visual technique which works well for someone who needs in-your-face- constant reminding to do something, which is me! More accountability means more consistency, and better progress and results. Write it out, put it up somewhere you can see everyday, then stick to it!
20.01.2022 Did an awesome hike at Nattai National Park, near Mittagong on Sunday, 18 km approx 7 hrs. Spectacular views, everywhere there was regeneration after the fires. Nature will always recover. Every Sunday with @projectfittrekker. #hiking #outdoors #hikingadventures #bushwalking

20.01.2022 Dead all over the bar. Lift something heavy off the ground, bring it up to your shoulder then push it over. A classic strength builder in our Strong AF class. Love the Rocky Eye of the Tiger tunes and the team support! #keepingitreal #strongertogether #strongwomen #strengthtraining

17.01.2022 Wed at the Primal office...i never had a corporate office job in my life. Since the age of 14, my first job was to clean carpets for my uncles business in Singapore, at 18 I enlisted in the army then came to Sydney in my early 20s, stocking shelves and working in security at clubs.. remember St Patricks Tavern in early 2000? Yeah that A.hole Asian doorman on Fri/Sat was me Anyways, because of Covid restrictions, Primals business model is now remote based services which means many hours of office like work. I can now sympathise with our many corporate members; tight hips, low back and traps...damn I even ate lunch at my desk - plastic foldable from Bunnings.. I hope you have been well and see you for Live sessions soon!

16.01.2022 Grip strength is so important in everyday function. This device measures your strength force in Kg. Generally, your dominant arm will provide a greater force than non dominant arm. Train your grip strength to make daily task like opening a tight jar, carrying heavy shopping bags etc easier. #gripstrength #gripstrengthtest

16.01.2022 As an ethnic minority Australian, I think I'm given a wonderful opportunity here to contribute towards the global efforts to eradicate racism. I'm very proud of the strong, welcoming and diverse community we have built at Primal since 2011. And pledge that Primal will continue to leverage its position as a leader in the fitness industry to continue our fight and progress towards a world without racism.

13.01.2022 The Rectus Femoris is one of the 4 muscles in your group of Quadriceps (front of thigh). The Rec-Fem starts from your hip joint, onto the knee and and attaches to the Tibia (shin). This muscle can get tight from prolonged sitting and cause stiffness in the knee. Using a dowel rod or a broom stick combined with a specific Quadriceps stretch, you can release this tightness. and cause stiffness in the knee. 09.01.2022 Yesterdays leftover dinner is todays lunch: Slow cooked Osso Bucco, fresh tomatos and eggplant stew, mashed potatoes and green beans. Another one of my lazy, low skilled and easy to make meals. The mash and beans were cooked seperate. Lunch was topped with some some useless decorative basil leaves just for show..... The stew was cooked for close to 10hrs...only because I kind of forgot about it . Flavour and texture turned out awesome, though the egg plant sort of disappeared into the gravy.. #keepingitreal #lazymeals #slowcookedmeals

01.01.2022 Heres Janis, shes been with Primal since Nov 2014. Through consistency and effort, she has progressed to be one of the strongest at Primal. I asked Janis how the current Covid situation has affected her training and what she is doing to respond and adapt: 1) What are your current training goal(s) I still want to ensure I train 4-5 days a week and be smart with my food options.... Pre-COVID 19 my biggest training goals were around building my physical strength and lifting heavy I loved my strength training and am now limited with this because I dont have the many weight options that were available to me at the gym. I decided that because I cant do (or am limited to) what I enjoy most, Im going to push myself out of my comfort zone and focus on cardio/body weight training the type of training Ive never enjoyed or felt I was good at. In line with this, Ive also started running and my goal (for now) is to run 5km in under 30 mins for me is huge because if you know me, you know that I do not run voluntarily! 2) What are you doing at the moment to work towards this goal(s) Im continuing to train 4-5 days a week by completing the personalised training plans that Lauren has very brilliantly put together for me and participating in a few live Zoom sessions with the Primal family. Ive started running just a few mornings a week. Im slowly increasing the time that Im running to get me to my goal and Im not too far off it, so Ill be looking to up my goal, just a little! 3) What are the challenges you face at this moment trying to achieve your goal(s) My biggest challenge that is going to impact my running goal is the slight injury I have (rolled ankle courtesy of my dog who decided to run in front of me when I was trying to run around her). The other small challenge I have is motivating myself to do the strength training that is available to me its obviously different to what we did at the gym, so I know I just need to get past that, move on and get on with it! 4) How else can Primal help you with regards to achieving your goal? Right now, there is nothing more that Primal can do for me, because Primal has already done so much to ensure that my training isnt impacted! When I realised that I would be limited with my training because of the rolled ankle, I reached out to Lauren to let her know, and she immediately put together a training plan for me that wouldnt aggravate my injury but still ensured that my training could continue.
01.01.2022 This mornings Boxing Fit class. Basic heavy bag combos, foot work using the agility ladder and shadow boxing. Great for fitness and coordination. @orlandossweets, you did great today!
