22.01.2022 New beginning: Minister for Health Greg Hunt announced a significant shift in national policy and funding commitment for eating disorders in Australia. The Butterfly Foundation has led key advocacy to governments and the health sector on behalf of 1 million Australians with eating disorders with the support of Primary Communication. The launch event included funding announcement for the expansion of Australias national eating disorders support line, funding to train health professionals, and the launch of the National Agenda for Eating Disorders, the first national policy response.

16.01.2022 Ahead of the annual fire station Open Day on Saturday 18 May, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters took the fun and magic of fire station Open Day exclusively to The Childrens Hospital at Westmead Specifically, the Burns Unit which is affectionately known as Fire Station No. 2 is a place very close to the hearts of all firefighters. FRNSW firefighters and staff have donated more than $3.3 million over the past 30+ years to help fund the hospitals treatment and rehab...ilitation of children with burns injuries. By supporting the Burns Unit, FRNSW is making sure that it continues to serve the community in fire safety and prevention, even after the fires have been put out. 14.01.2022 Butterfly Foundation MAKES HISTORY. The culmination of 7 years of advocacy on behalf of 1 million Australians with an #eatingdisorder. The Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Minister for Health Greg Hunt announced the first decisive commitment to treatment through Medicare (40 psych + 20 dietitians treatments each year). For the first time those suffering and battling this potentially life ending illness can receive treatment through Medicare with the appropriate level of tre...atment each year. There were tears of happiness and sadness for those lost on this journey. "We should be proud we live in a country that has a public health system like Medicare. The little green card means LIFE for many who are very sick." Primary was proud to support Butterfly in building and delivering a successful advocacy program over the past 7 years. A program built on collaboration, evidence-based narratives, and the heart and soul of the campaign, the voices of lived experience.

05.01.2022 SO PROUD Prominent Goreng Goreng woman and First Nations Advocate, Dixie Link-Gordon and international human rights artist, Belinda Mason, are leading the largest delegation of First Nations women from across Australia and the Pacifica (Thursday Island, Fiji, Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea and Aotearoa) to New York this week, as part of a movement to break cycles of family and gendered violence for Indigenous women and their communities. The Breaking Silent Codes movement ...uses first nations lived experience and local solutions to domestic and family violence, sharing cross cultural programs and resources to address the epidemic of violence that first nations women experience.
