23.01.2022 Heifers first round calving done and dusted for Prime in 2019. All credit to these awesome new mums who kept their calves hydrated and out of the sun through the oppressive heat of the past couple of weeks.

22.01.2022 Our most sincere gratitude to the small group of buyers who left their own parched farms and came to support our sale today. 30 of 31 bulls offered sold to a top of $9000 and an average of $3405. Bulls have found new homes in WA, King Island and NSW but the majority are staying local. Top price of the day was for Lot 8 Maximus P36, going to Gary and Julie Buller, Monterey Angus. Our thanks also go to new stud clients Trio Angus purchasing Lot 18, Legend P16 and Mawarra Genetics purchasing Lot 3 Juggernaut P27. And to our awesome locals, thank you. We can't forget the ever professional team at GTSM, Lincoln, Jody and Butch. And our super sale day team of John Harrison, James Webster, Ken Heywood and Donna Slevin.

22.01.2022 Some bulls just catch your eye. Some hard to define thing about their softness, muscularity or perhaps just how they hold themselves. Legend P16 is one of those bulls. After being on the cover of this year's sale catalogue his good looks have continued to improve and he fits our Growth + Calving Ease mantra. P16 sells at 11am Thursday March 7th, now less than a week away.

16.01.2022 As you may now be aware, Peter, Annick and Lily Butterfield have sold Prime Angus Stud. We will continue to enjoy living in Warrenbayne on a smaller property. Last weekend we officially handed over the reins to Pat Ebert and Colin Flanagan, former owners of Granite Ridge Angus in SA. We wish them every success. They look forward to meeting you at Beef Week and communicating with you via this page. Thank you all for your support. We've been very fortunate to work with a grou...p of likeminded breeders. We hope you keep in touch. Sincere thank you to Michael Glasser for all his efforts to make this happen. Farewell, Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2020 from the Butterfields!

16.01.2022 Prime Maximus P32. Sells as Lot 5. Second heaviest weight of the drop on scan day. Top 1% for all growth EBVs and Heavy Grass Index. Top 3% for ABI and Domestic Index. 2 weeks until sale day. Catalogues have now been posted. Once again, if you would like a copy please let us know.

14.01.2022 Prime Up River P73. Sells as Lot 4 in the upcoming yearling sale. Soft and well-muscled. Top 1% EMA, 200- and 400-day weights. With the bull sale only a month away, please contact us if you are not on our mailing list and would like to receive a catalogue.

10.01.2022 While none of us like empty heifers, a no second chances policy means the fertility in the herd continuously improves. And if they have a reasonable cull value, it's a win win. Our PTE heifers curfew weight 593kg at $2.68kg bringing $1589 last month. Not bad going in a tough season.

06.01.2022 Hi all. The Boys are doing just fine. A customer asked us last week whether we thought the bulls would be up to the task of joining heifers this autumn given the seriously difficult seasonal conditions. ABSOLUTELY!... We were fortunate to have a reasonable spring. We cut our usual amount of silage. Bulls grazed silage regrowth paddocks till early December. They were weaned onto ad lib, quality silage and supplementary pellets. They have made excellent weight gains. Sale weights should be within 5% of last year's 580kg av. The use of high early growth genetics is paying off. Sale Day sheet will be posted to FaceBook March 3. Yes, the boys will be ready when you need them to be.

05.01.2022 Bulls and their mothers are enjoying silage regrowth paddocks. Almost ready to wean!

04.01.2022 The boys are almost ready for sale day. To summarise; 31 bulls offered. Average weight 602kg. Range 556kg - 688kg Star performer Lot 5, Maximus P32(pictured far right) weighing 688kg making him our heaviest ever sale bull, overtaking Katapault K1 at 680kg.... Average daily gain for the sale group 1.45kg/day Average scrotal circumference 39.5cm. Great effort by these boys(and Peter and Lily) to get them above target weight in a year like this.
