24.01.2022 More embroidery! This lovely letter 'M' embroidery has no matboard to keep it off the glass, so i always use spacers to improve the life span of the artwork.

23.01.2022 Cross stitch and embroidery artwork require extra attention when preparing for framing. I never glue or stick material pieces down, or staple onto mdf or other acidic materials. Only conservation backing and stainless steel pins are used for stretching. Stretching allows for a straight edge with no wavy lines and no sagging.

19.01.2022 Same customer, this piece needed spacing off the glass as it had 3D trinkets. Spacing artwork off the glass is always recommend for cross stich and embroidery to reduce the effects of fading. The cotton dye can fade faster.

16.01.2022 This weeks framing creations. Cross stitch and all embroidery is stretched onto foam board with a stainless steel pin. No gluing, cutting or stickyboard processes are used with my framing. Always consider how your artwork is prepared for framing, never assume that the best techniques are used. Alway enquire about conservation techniques for your to precious materials.

16.01.2022 Some more skillfully hand crafted cross stitch. I never glue, cut or use corrosive materials. I always stretch onto foam core using a stainless steel pin. By using a spacer in the frame rebate the cross stitch is set back off the glass, allowing the material to be preserved longer in the frame.

05.01.2022 A timely reminder about conservatin framing. This lovely client wanted to reframe her collectable memorabilia cricket cards so the information on the back could be seen. Upon taking the artwork out we discovered the previous framer had glued the cards down, damaging the back of each card. My client was super upset. Now we have taken all the cards off and reattached with acitate photo corners....no glue! And improved the lifespan of these precious cards with UV control and clarity glass.
