25.01.2022 The message at the moment is simple: #stayhome. But what if you are buying or selling property during the Coronavirus pandemic? Many restrictions have been imposed on Victorians, and it may get worse before it gets better. What are the current rules affecting conveyancing and are electronic settlements impacted? https://www.primepropertylawyers.com.au/buying-selling-pro/

25.01.2022 Here we go again... but we are still open for (virtual) business if you need a conveyancing lawyer. Stay safe everyone!

25.01.2022 Buy now, pay later! The glossy brochures are so enticing. A beautiful new home with all the bells and whistles. You get to pick the paint and finishes. These are some of the pros of buying off-the-plan. This means that the home may not yet be built, and is only identified by its location on a plan of subdivision. Recent legislative changes have tried to minimise some of the risk to buyers, but off-the-plan contracts are still notoriously complicated. So, what are some of the cons? Read on... https://www.primepropertylawyers.com.au/off-the-plan/

24.01.2022 Last day of home school These are the faces of 2 very tired Melbourne parents who have worked full time for the last 6 months, while home schooling 3 children during a pandemic. We are ecstatic that school is finally going back next week and will never complain about the 6 week summer holidays again. All Victorian parents deserve a medal! Thanks to my clients who were very understanding about the shrieks of murder in the background of their phone calls. Don’t worry, it was just the Nintendo - mostly

24.01.2022 Great news for the property market!

23.01.2022 Thanks so much for your kind words Matt!

21.01.2022 Woohoo, it looks like Stage 4 restrictions won't prevent people from moving house! During the briefing today, Dan Andrews said: I don’t want to see people not able to settle on their home. I don’t want to see people who are supposed to move from one place to another because the lease has run out unable to do so.... We’re going to get some specific advice on that. We’ve already given it a fair bit of thought. I think the answer will be ‘yes’ if you’ve got a contract, an arrangement in place. Stay tuned for more info!

20.01.2022 Inbox 0! For the next 2 days at least . For a while I wasn’t sure if I’d make it through the crazy pre-Christmas settlement rush. Wishing you all happy holidays

14.01.2022 Often I get clients who signed a contract of sale without legal advice because it looked straightforward or they ask for a discount because their purchase is easy. A great conveyancer should leave you with the impression that it’s a simple job, but not because no problems arose. It’s because they pre-empt the problems, or deal with them before you even knew they existed. In this blog I debunk a few popular myths about easy conveyances. Good luck to those house hunters about to jump into the 2019 property market, and give me a shout if you need a hand! https://www.primepropertylawyers.com.au/conveyancer-easy-p/

11.01.2022 One thing I learnt during my years at a top tier law firm was how to balance commercial and legal needs. When buying property, this means that if you try to amend every clause, the house of your dreams can slip through your fingers. At the same time, you don’t want to commit to a contract that you can’t fulfil. The trick is to choose your battles. Contracts are often biased in favour of the vendor, so let your solicitor guide you on how to negotiate a property purchase successfully. *Warning: this blog contains Game of Thrones spoilers* https://www.primepropertylawyers.com.au/negotiate-a-proper/

09.01.2022 These are crazy times, but there's no need to panic! Thanks to the recent introduction of e-conveyancing, at least your settlement is unlikely to be impacted. I shudder to think of the delays that would have happened in the good old days, where a crowd of people gathered in a room to physically exchange documents and cheques. Now we can run your settlement in isolation, behind the safety of a computer screen. In fact, all of my services are done online or over the phone. It's business as usual at Prime Property Lawyers!

05.01.2022 Last month was a pretty big milestone in my biz 5 years! I didn’t feel like celebrating at the time, but as we ease out of quarantine, I want to acknowledge the things that I’m grateful for: 1. My past self, for building up a sustainable business out of scratch, that I can do from home! 2. Wifi! For allowing life to continue moving forward. From online settlements to online learning to online shopping to Neflix ... 3. Community. To my family, friends, school teachers, and clients, who were all so understanding and supportive. And to the wider community of people in health care, supermarkets, deliveries and others who made Australia the best place to live in these crazy times. Thank you *Iso portrait taken by my 12 year old!

04.01.2022 Take a good look at my picture. Because that’s as close to me as you’re likely to get! I run a virtual office. That means that we won’t meet "IRL". Most people will cheer when they hear this but I won’t be offended! Clients don’t have to waste time traipsing halfway across the city, and I don’t have to get out of my pyjamas It’s a win-win! So how does a virtual office work when it comes to online conveyancing? Read my blog for more info: https://www.primepropertylawyers.com.au/online-conveyancing/
