The Stock Water Recovery (SWR) project will provide grants of up to $10,000 for eligible livestock owners to improve stock water infrastructure such as troughs, tanks and dams. Expressions of interest are open now and submissions close on 15 January. 19.01.2022 QLD BORDER CLOSURE IS NOW A TRAGEDY AND UN-AUSTRALIAN FOLLOWING DEATH OF BABY - BALLINA Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has slammed the Queensland Border c...losure following a local tragedy. This was always going to be the case, Mr Hogan said. We have had a pregnant mother from Ballina who needed emergency care for her unborn twins. She waited 16 hours to fly to a Sydney hospital, rather than a short trip to Brisbane. Sadly, one of the babies has now tragically passed away. This is not Australian, this is not how we operate. Our region has no community transmission of the virus. We are not a hot spot. There is nothing but heartache and damage being done to families health and livelihoods. This might be playing well for the QLD Premier politically in the short term, but this border closure is unconscionable. The QLD Premier says QLD hospitals are only for Queenslanders, well more than 6000 Queensland citizens were treated at Tweed Hospital (in NSW) in 2019. This represents 20% of all in-patients.

17.01.2022 YEEESSSS, ITS OPENING TONIGHT!!!!! THE WOODBURN, BROADWATER AND WARDELL BYPASS This 34-kilometre section of the new motorway between Woodburn and Pimlico wil...l open to traffic tonight. Three interchanges at Woodburn, Broadwater and Coolgardie will allow motorists to access and exit the motorway. Woodburn interchange has northbound and southbound on and off ramps providing access to Woodburn and surrounding areas. Exit at this interchange to travel north to Broadwater, Evans Head and surrounding areas. Broadwater interchange has a northbound on ramp and a southbound off ramp connecting to Broadwater-Evans Head Road. To travel south on the new motorway from Broadwater, Evans Head and surrounding areas, motorists will use the southbound on ramp at the Woodburn interchange. Coolgardie interchange has northbound and southbound on and off ramps providing access to Wardell, Coolgardie and surrounding areas. Wonderful to see this major piece of infrastructure coming to completion. Close to 90% of the 155-kilometre Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway upgrade is complete. This is in response to long-held ...concerns about the bargaining imbalances that currently exist between our producers and supermarket chains, processors and their agents. It will also reveal the misuse, and in some cases, abuse of power by these entities. In the many private conversations I have had with producers including diary, pork, herbs and poultry I have been made aware that it is not unusual for major retailers and their agents to employ bullying tactics to have farmers accept unfair contracts. This inquiry will allow all food producing sectors to confidentially submit evidence, raise concerns and share their own experiences in the domestic marketplace. I strongly encourage all farmers and agribusinesses to contribute to this inquiry.
