24.01.2022 Transition Day // This morning, we welcomed our newest Prep School students to Prince Alfred College. The boys took part in a number of activities in their 2021 classes, and enjoyed making friends and meeting their teachers in their new learning environment. A special shoutout to our 'buddies' who made our new students feel extra welcome. We look forward to seeing them all again in Term 1!

15.01.2022 SACE Results // The results are in and we couldn't be prouder of the Class of 2020. It has been a massive year for our Year 12 students, and the results are testament to their character and resilience. We congratulate the following students who achieved an ATAR of 99 or above: Jason Gong (99.45), Preshaan Thavarajah (99.30), Zac Palser (99.10) and Angus Russell (99.00). An outstanding achievement!... IBDP results will be released on 3 January. Year 12 Academic Prizes, including Dux of College, will be awarded at the College Emeritus Assembly early next year.

14.01.2022 A magnificent start to the morning.

12.01.2022 Commemorative Ties // To commemorate their Middle School graduation, our Year 9 students received their Senior School tie in a ceremony held in the Chapel this morning. Special thanks to the Friends of PAC for this special gift, and to the Grandies who so beautifully wrapped them for our boys.

12.01.2022 Celebrating lifelong connections // We recently welcomed back to our Early Learning Centre Mrs Mollie Marcus (née Wilkins) in whose honour the Wilkins Room (one of our 2-year old learning spaces) is named. Mollie will shortly celebrate her 90th birthday and this special visit marked the occasion. The boys and girls sang Happy Birthday and presented Mollie with flowers, and in turn she gave the room a beautiful selection of board books for the children’s enjoyment. Mollie was ...joined at morning tea by the Headmaster and former students Richard Dennis, David Blanch and Nick Branson (all Year 1 boys in 1963), and Alf Brown who was in her first Year 1 class in 1956. Alf and David brought along their Grade 1 reports for Mollie to sign! Female staff were a rarity at the College when Miss Mollie Wilkins commenced as a Grade 1 teacher in the Preparatory School in 1956, following the resignation of Miss Enid Angwin (Bennett), who is now aged 91. Mollie remained on staff until 1969, when her son James Marcus (PAC 1977-87) was born. We thank Mollie for her visit and wish her the very happiest of birthdays next month.

10.01.2022 Happy 80th birthday to a very special and much loved staff member, Pauline Coupe! Since 1987, laundry superstar Pauline has dedicated herself to caring for our boarders, and always has a smile and a kind word for those she meets. We thank Pauline for her service to the PAC community and wish her the happiest of birthdays. Mary Read Designs

08.01.2022 New Learning Spaces // It’s all go in our Prep School this holiday, with the construction of some exciting new learning areas! Work includes a spacious new breakout area for our Year 6 classes, which replaces the old computer room (with the Prep now a 1:1 iPad school). A new Visual Arts classroom is being created beside the library, various classrooms are being updated and refreshed, and a new classroom is being created as we prepare to welcome an additional Year 4 class next year! We can’t wait to see the end result!

08.01.2022 So much fun in Vacation Care!

05.01.2022 Movember // A big shoutout to all of our staff who have been championing men’s health this month and raising money for this amazing cause. To date they have raised $3135 toward their $3500 target To donate or to follow their progress click http://mvmbr.co/3ln9XoK.

04.01.2022 Following the latest advice, we’re pleased to advise that Prince Alfred College will re-open on Monday. A communication will be sent to families shortly. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff who have worked through this period to provide care to our boarders and children of essential workers, and to maintain essential operations. Well done SA!!

03.01.2022 An Exciting Discovery // Work in the Art Centre has revealed a portion of the ceiling of the original gymnasium. This includes graffiti dating back to the early 1880s, written by boys who had climbed the ropes for that purpose! Hopefully there was no graffiti there when the future King George V climbed the rope in 1881!
