24.01.2022 Koerner wines back in stock! Sangiovese, Malbec or Vermentino

24.01.2022 We’ve been so busy with all the newbies arriving this week that our MIXED 6 got a bit delayed. Here it is: Newstead Brewing Co: Luftschloss Pilsner Old meets new in this modern interpretation of an unfiltered pilsner. Fresh malt from Voyager, malted in an Old World fashion, Old World bittering hops meet New World flavour hops, while New World mashing technique is balanced by Old-World fermentation scheduling. The best of both Worlds!... Slow Lane Brewing: Botany Weisse Apricot Mixed Fermentation Sour Ale Slow Lane’s version of a traditional Berliner Weisse sour German wheat beer. Like traditional recipes, it undergoes a secondary Brett fermentation for added complexity. Aged 6 months, including 3 months on apricot. Dominant wheat characteristics, apricot notes are prominent on the nose, subtle on the palette. Slow Lane Brewing: Foundation Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale Farmhouse ales are an old European tradition. Farmers would brew beer from their own grains- often wheat and oats, for consumption on the farm. As these beers were fermented in wood vessels, they would be exposed to wild yeasts giving them a rustic character. This beer was open fermented then aged in red wine barrels. Dry, well carbonated with fruity and spicy yeast driven flavours. A nice level of sour which lingers with a sweet twist! The Coastal Brewing Co: Pelican Porter Baltic Porter Fermented low (temperature) and slow this smooth, cold-fermented and cold-lagered Baltic Porter has rich malt and dark fruit flavours. Beerfarm: Brown Ale Southern English style brown ale brewed to suit the Aussie palate. A malty brown ale with coffee, chocolate and biscuit characters on the pallet. English hops such as East Kent Goldings and Fuggles used as subtle additions to compliment the malty characters of the beer. Garage Project / Modern Times Beer: Easy As - Hazy IPA Part of the ‘Home & Away’ series - rebrews of past overseas collaborations back at the Garage. Originally brewed with Modern Times in downtown LA. Brewed using a hop free boil, cryo hops in the whirlpool and massive double dry hop of Mosaic, Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops. Smooth as silk, love those tropical fruit notes. Our pick of the 6!

23.01.2022 This week’s MIXED 6 Nomad Brewing Rollin’ Haze: Hazy Pale Ale Get your skates on and get rollin' with this hazy pale ale, loaded with oats for the haze and left unfiltered for extra flavour and a soft creamy mouthfeel. Southern Hemisphere hops are featured in this pale with the use of Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin and a new experimental hop to give a combination of citrus, gooseberry and tropical fruit aromas.... Slow Lane: Thirsty Miner Grisette Pale Belgian Ale In the style of the historical beers from Belgium's southern Hainaut province that were originally brewed to quench the thirst of local miners. Light body with balanced floral and spicy hop character and yeast driven fruity esters. Dainton Brewery: Fruity Freeze Tropical Neipa Back by popular demand! Pineapple, orange and passionfruity goodness, with a refreshing hoppiness and low bitterness in a juicy-as-f#$k NEIPA. Spring is here and it’s time to get FRUITY! Bodriggy Brewing: Speccy Juice - Session IPA At 3.5% this beer is a pocket rocket, boasting huge mandarin and piney aromas from Citra and Ekuanot hops. Added oats and wheat enhance mouthfeel and lend a subtle haze to this modern session IPA. It’s everything you love about IPAs but in a small package. Hope Estate: Sunny Boy Sour Like a great Aussie-summer iced treat, this is refreshing, tart and delightful. Plus, you don't need to rip open a tetra-pak to enjoy it. Featuring Australian grown specialty wheat malt and orange juice extracts, it is soured during the brewing process to create a lovely and vibrant sour treat. Garage Project: Trip Hop ESB Garage Project love NZ Hops. How much? Here's how much. Triple hopped with, Pacificica, Motueka and Riwaka hops in increasingly lavish quantities throughout the boil, Trip Hop's bitter but balanced on a malt base of pale, Carahelles, Vienna and Caraaroma. Rich amber red and redolent of the Nelson hop fields. Think easy drinking for resin heads and pucker. . . #mixedsix #mixedsixpack #craftbeer #welovecraftbeer

20.01.2022 This week’s MIXED 6: Sea Legs Brewery Dry Hopped Gose: A traditional Gose with a dry hop bomb of Citra, Vic Secret and Azacca thrown at this tart brew. Subtle hints of pineapple and citrusy lemon round this salty beer out nicely. Sea Legs Brewery - Limited Release Tropical XPA: A full flavoured and tropical extra pale ale, pours a smooth golden colour with a nice white head. A fair whack of late hop and dry hop additions lend citrusy aromas and a tropical fruit flavour with... a slight kick. Helios Brewing Hermes Session Pale Lager: This Session Pale Lager sits somewhere between a Vienna Lager and a Steam Beer. A single malt and single hop beer (S.M.A.S.H), showcasing Vienna malt and Magnum Hops. A noble esque zesty, citrus spice like nose pairs up with soft biscuit and toffee malt. Moderately bittered and a very approachable 3.8% presents another high end sessionable Helios flavour experience. Semi-Pro Brewing Red Rye IPA: A dance of malt and hops. Gladfield specialty malts provide a beautiful rich baseline to the tropical hop dance of Samba. Complex aroma characterized by juicy tropical fruits, stone fruits, candy, and orange tangerine. All-Inn Brewing Legbreaker American IPA: Legbreaker takes to the field as a determined all-rounder, striking a well-practiced balance between sweet, malt biscuit flavour and the bitter hoppy wallops of generous doses of American Columbus, Centennial and Citra. Stand by for lashings of grapefruit, floral, and resinous characters. Fields Brewing Pale Ale: Golden in every sense of the word, this is an Australian style pale ale made with a light Ale and Wheat malt base, Galaxy hops for that hint of passionfruit and citrus and a clean, crisp finishing yeast. #mixedsix #craftbeer #craftbeerlife

19.01.2022 Our latest Mixed 6: Bodriggy Utropia Pale Ale: A tropical little ripper, fits the bill for a long winding arvo where there’s nothing left to do but bask in the warm company and pit of contentment in the bright universe around you. White Bay Hi-Fidelity Nouveau Lager: An amalgamation of two styles held dear at White Bay, lager and IPA. This brew started its life, essentially, as a bold, American IPA. Mashed with a solid pedigree of Maris Otter, dextrin and flaked oats a...nd reared with a generous dose of American hops in the whirlpool. Then Hi-Fidelity was taken onto a road less travelled. Fermented cold and much drier than other White Bay beers with a neutral German lager strain, Hi-Fidelity is loud with vibes reminiscent of some west coast style IPAs. Fresh zested citrus, herbaceous pine and champagne mango beautifully intertwined in a svelte, dangerously crushable 7% package. Cloudwater DDH Pale: Double Dry Hopped Pale is brewed to soup up your downtime by delivering the hop flavour intensity of DIPAs at a moderate ABV. A bold, juicy, hazy, and intensely aromatic beer. Out of Cloudwater’s hoppy beer range, this sets the marker for balance between drinkability and flavour impact. Mountain Culture Moon Dust Stout: A sessionable stout made for misty mountain days and long nights by the fire. Rich cocoa and coffee notes rise above its smooth, creamy caramel body leaving space for only a hint of residual bitterness. A taproom favourite, made part of Mountain Culture’s core range. Mountain Culture - Daily Dose Passionfruit Sour: Brewed with passionfruit, galaxy hops and himalayan rock salt, this sessionable sour has light acidity. So take your daily dose and enjoy the trip. Revel / Black Hops / Currumbin Valley Hopbro Superchoice IPA: A beer inspired by a trip to visit the hop farms across the ditch. Brewed with a very healthy helping of kiwi hops: motueka, taiheke, riwaka & hort 4337 bringing forward a kaleidoscope of flavours with stone fruit, citrus & spice prominent in a juicy 6.5% IPA. Best enjoyed from obscure drinking vessels. See more

17.01.2022 This weeks MIXED SIX: Revel Brewing Browntown American Brown Ale: This pours a deep amber brown with a toasty warmth and smooth rich flavour. In true Revel fashion they’ve loaded this one up with US flavour hops; Cascade, Amarillo, & Williamette to provide a fruity & piney aroma with plenty of bitterness to balance out the malty body. One to be savoured!... Moorebeer Mango Milkshake IPA: A super creamy Mango Milkshake IPA. Just delightful. Slow Lane Brewing Quake Pale Ale: Quake is a pale ale fermented with a strain of the centuries old Norwegian Kveik (pronounced Quake) yeast. This batch uses Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand. These hops are known for having a distinct and complex flavour profile with tropical fruit and black pepper notes. Their flavour and aroma is often compared to the Sauvignon Blanc white wine grape that they are named after. Bricklane Brewing Hazy IPA: Welcome to Hop Country! The aromas of this beer are dominated by ripe guava, mango, rockmelon, citrus oil and piney hop characters with some intriguing wheat and bready notes all enveloped in an oat-cream body. Ripe tropical hop flavours and some piney, resinous and dank base notes burst through the luscious, soft, full mouth coating body. Medium bitterness. Sailor’s Grave Biru Sake Kasu & Persimmon Pale Sour: A pale sour fermented on sake lees, with added persimmon fruit. Pouring a deeply cloudy pale gold with apple, almond and sake on the nose, while on the palate there's a light prickle and a touch of sour, acidic, tangy citrus, not to mention a sticky sweetness that stays around. Collective Arts Blood Orange & Hibiscus Sour: One of the latest from Collective Arts’ Sour Series aims to brighten your mood and welcome in the warmer weather. Succulent, sweet blood oranges are paired with deliciously tart hibiscus petals, yielding a stunningly brilliant bright red liquid with a fresh, juicy flavour and aroma. Perfect for relaxing and basking in sunny days! #mixedsix #craftbeer #welovecraftbeer

16.01.2022 The latest MIXED 6: Molly Rose Little Hazy Low-Carb Pale: Don't be fooled by the low abv and low carb, this Little Hazy beer packs a punch from some of the best new hops going around. The aroma will transport you to a tropical beach with a pina colada and a mango daiquiri in each hand. The first sip will intrigue, the second sip will quench, the third will be for fun and then you will need another can. This beer is going to be our arvo gulp of choice this summer. Newstead ...Out & About Pale Ale: Endeavouring to encapsulate the zeitgeist of Newstead, this pale is a little rough around the edges, with a strong hop aroma and firm bitterness. Citrus, pine, grapefruit and lemon all balance a malt sweetness that make this beer dangerously drinkable. Dainton Equalizer Hazy Pale Ale: A refreshing pale ale with juicy citrus notes & a hint of tropical haze. Life's complicated, beer shouldn't be. White collar, blue collar or no collar, beer is the great equalizer. Big Shed / Ballistic Oaked Guava DIPA: Mosaic, Cascade, Nectaron-HORT 4337 along with dry additions of Nelson Sauvin and Centennial make this a mind blower. With a healthy wack of Guava Purée and then fermented and conditioned on brand new French oak barrels. Initial subtle oak with toffee, caramel, honey and breadiness complimented by fresh Guava in the ferment. Warm booziness with a silky slick malt sweetness. Two Birds Deck the Hall St Cherry Sour: Sour. Sessionable. Refreshing. Cherry on top? Yes please. A tribute to Two Birds’ brewery at 136 Hall Street Spotswood (and their new deck!), Deck the Hall St Cherry Sour is everything you could be looking for in a Christmas beer, a low 4% ABV, hints of tart cherry and enough spark to reset you for long, balmy summer evenings. Brick Brewery Strawberry & Cucumber Sour: A sessionable 4.5% makes it perfect to enjoy on a hot, summer's day; the strawberry adds a fresh sweetness whilst the cucumber adds a refreshing and cooling balance to the tartness of the sour beer. #mixedsix #christmasedition #craftbeer #craftbeetforchristmas

15.01.2022 This week’s MIXED 6: 1. Pirate Life Imperial Red Ale: This Imperial Red Ale is 9%, packed with flavour, and soars in a Spitfire branded tin. Malted barley, oats and rye give it a solid foundation and rich fiery hue. It’s needed to withstand the barrage of hops, with six international varietals on show. The nose is full of mangosteen, gingerbread and stewed stone-fruit. On the palate, assertive bitterness, spiced fruit, and a whack of toffee malt. Serve with pork roast and old... comrades. 2. Bodriggy cosmic microwave NEIPA: Pouring a creamy pale gold with the style's signature soft mouthfeel, Cosmic Microwave isn’t as much of a juice bomb as some NEIPAs , though there's plenty of fruit-forward aromas and flavours lurking within. The most prominent among them is apricot, while you'll pick out some ripe pineapple and, like the IPAs of old, a hint of pine too. 3. Tallboy & Moose Sunray XPA: With many variations of the XPA out there, it’s the name Sunray that gives the most away as to what kind of beer the brewers has gone for; this one is a particularly light, pale and bright beer. The hop mix is focused on the new and the tropical with Vic Secret, Motueka and El Dorado delivering a blend of mango, citrus, pine and white peach and a faint yet grippy, resinous bitterness in their wake. 4. Boatrocker Stout: Brewed with the finest English malt and hops, this is a classic, full bodied, English style stout. Dry roast on the nose with a velvety mouthfeel, it’s a deliciously balanced and hearty ale. Best consumed at about 8C. 5. Shout Cloudy with a Chance of Juice NEIPA: A classic take on the popular New England IPA style. Cloudy With A Chance Of Juice delivers a tropical fruit bowl delicately poised upon a foggy cloudiness for that low bitterness, creamy mouthfeel NEIPA experience. The use of Sigmund Voss kveik yeast adds a unique touch to this satisfying ale. 6. Modus Operandi Doppelbock Winter Lager: A beer to cosy up to and sip and savour ideally by a toasty fire. Biscuity, malty sweetness is balanced with a clean, dry finish and subtle bitterness. At 7.6% it lives up to the Doppel. The style was originally brewed by German Monks for sustenance during winter.

14.01.2022 Brick Lane Brewing - All in This Together West Coast IPA: You’ll find nothing hazy about this 7.4% West Coast IPA. We are kicking it old school with this one. Expect rich malty aromas with lifted notes of stone fruit and spice. On the palate, fine tannins, freshly baked biscuit, and a host of herbal undertones. Do try it! Sailor’s Grave Down She Gose: An heirloom style of beer, the Gose (pronounced GO-zuh ) has history stretching back 1000 years to the town of Goslar in Germany, Dry, golden and subtly tart, it has a delicate salty tang and is extremely sessionable and thirst quenching. Anyone who has added a wedge of lemon to their pale Mexican lager will appreciate the character of this beer.
