23.01.2022 Brunello di Montalcino 2015 - Part One. If you were hoping to be in Tuscany at this time of year - and can't be - we have made sure you don't completely miss o...ut on this wonderful region. Here we have Part One of the Brunello di Montalcino 2015 that sees the consolidation of individual offers that have been sent out to previous buyers. This is a vintage we have followed in cask for a few years now and at every tasting it has been evident that this is a historic year for this fabled region. The vintage marries incredible density of fruit with such fine tannins that it almost makes you feel as though the wines are without structure; however, the balance of elements is so well-melded that it is deceptive. This first stanza is an assemblage of some of the best producers from this brilliant vintage that have arrived into Australia and we are offering some of the greats of the region, including, Casanova dei Neri, Fuligni, Conti Costanti, San Filippo and Talenti for a value option. You will note that this vintage has received more than its fair share of rapturous praise. From my point of view it has always been important with Montalcino to understand that this region is large and varies in topography, so outcomes are always varied in-line with this diversity of territory. A common feature I have seen in several great vintages over my time is a truism in the greatest of all vintages they look balanced and great from the moment they are bottled through to their latter stages of evolution. Enjoy! Michael http://www.princewinestore.com.au//brunello-di-montalcino-

17.01.2022 Today’s #pwsisolationwines post is bought to you by Roscoe from our fearless HQ @princewinestore When I knew I was going home to work I had to ask myself a very difficult question what am I going to drink for the next week or so?" Fontaleoni Vernaccia 2018, we have all said it a lot over the last 12 months or so but this is a wine that’s pretty hard to beat. It ticks a lot of boxes with its versatile, slightly textural, refreshing and clear cut profile. This is what Italian white wine is all about. Great on its own and perfect with your midweek pasta. Perhaps most importantly is the fact it delivers so much and is still so cheap. ROSCOE

15.01.2022 Staff rotating shifts and working from home has inspired our new series #pwsisolationwines Revisited this one last night and WOW! Kept changing with every sip and bite; Bursts of cherries, raspberries, strawberries and even some clove and spice in there. Stick it in the fridge for 30 minutes or have it room temp. Versatile and evolving in the glass, like us humans these days. KAILA

04.01.2022 #Repost @princewinestore with @get_repost We are delighted to announce the arrival of our first shipment of Copper Rivet Distillery's Dockyard Gin. We were first introduced to the distillery by Melbourne (and San Sebastian) bar owner, Gerald Diffey. He was fairly passionate about this range of gins he'd seen on a trip back to the UK and urged us to import some. We knew Gerald knew his stuff so we were interested but wary given the number of Gins in the market, but once we... delved deeper into the operation and then tasted the range we were sold. The distillery is a relatively new operation headed by Bob Russell and sons, Matthew and Stephen. It is unique in several senses but first off it is housed in a Victorian-era pumphouse in the now derelict Chatham Dockyard south of London. The dockyard was at one time of huge importance to the Empire building ships for the Royal Navy from Napoleonic times through to the Falklands. The pumphouse # 5 was used to pump out water for the dry docks. Russell saw an opportunity to revitalise a magnificent piece of English architecture, give some locals a job and indulge his passion for making bespoke spirits. To do this he decided to take the road less travelled in distilling and instead of buying in bulk spirit to make his Gin he decided to make his own and to source everything from within 20 miles of the distillery. So, the father and sons team organised contracts to buy crops of early harvest wheat, barley, and rye from farmers on the Isle of Sheppy, just off the coast in the Thames Estuary. Each year they have the pick of the grain they want and in-so-doing have ultimate control over the quality of their base spirit. From there they use a range of traditional botanicals to produce their flagship traditional Navy Strength Gin - Dockyard. The range extends to include a Damson Gin with Damsons sourced from the nearby Kent orchards and an unoaked Whisky called Son of a Gun which is a cracking drink over ice or the perfect base spirit for a number of cocktails. #copperrivetdistillery view the offer via link in bio.
