18.01.2022 Havent posted in a while so I thought a good outcome story would do the trick. Had a client up on assault occasioning bodily harm charges before the court. The client admitted culpability but there were significant extenuating circumstances. We were able to avoid a conviction being recorded against him....Always good to see a 110kg buff guy cry tears of happiness.

16.01.2022 We recently had a client who had been charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. His wife being the alleged victim. At the same time she sought orders from the family court denying equal parenting rights for our client. We successfully proved the allegations false and settled the family law proceedings allowing for equal parental responsibility.

15.01.2022 Six speeding offences, latest offence driving while under the influence of "illicit" substances. Automatic disqualification period is 6 months. Our submissions moved magistrate to use her discretion and reduce to 3 months. For all you pot smokers out there beware

13.01.2022 Great result this morning at Newtown Local Court for a second low range DUI offence in the past 5 years. Automatic disqualification period is 12 months with a minimum 6 months. Our client was disqualified for 3 months but we were able to have that disqualification suspended upon entering the interlock program. Effectively, our client can drive as the disqualification period is suspended. Another satisfied client.

13.01.2022 1 mid range drink driving charge with one prior high range conviction in the last 5 years. Automatic disqualification period is 3 years with a minimum of 12 months. My client has previously been on the interlock program. Notwithstanding all the above, we were able to achieve a loss of licence for effectively only 6 months. Good result

12.01.2022 Had 2 clients a local court pleading guilty to assault offences during a brawl with bar security staff when they were asked to leave the premises. Considering the size of the brawl and amount of people involved, a good result in that the only punishment was a fine. We were able to avoid good behaviour bonds based on the representations made.

11.01.2022 Very difficult sentencing this morning for a charge filming person in private act without consent. Magistrate really thought long and hard about our submissions and accepted our clients guilty plea but with no conviction to be recorded.

08.01.2022 Another good result at Newtown Local Court for a client who was caught driving while disqualified for the 7th time. Custodial sentence was a real possibility. After considering our plea her honour only enforced a further minimum disqualification of 2 years with a 12 month bond.
