24.01.2022 LIGHT SHOW > Tonight nature put on an amazing show of beauty and power and I was lucky enough to capture this moment with my trusty old Samsung whilst feeding the ponies. This photo was taken looking back towards our tack shed. You can see the shed lights in the distance #qldstorms #stormseason #horseagistment #brisbane

24.01.2022 Some of the horses had their annual health check today at Priors Paddocks while others watched on from the sidelines secretly relieved it wasnt their turn.... The annual health check includes the Hendra and Tetanus/Strangles boosters which are paid for by Priors Paddocks as part of the agistment fees... Want to know more? 23.01.2022 SLURRRRPING > up those minerals! The herd are loving the new Belindas weather proof SE QLD loose lick.

22.01.2022 SUNSETS > are always magical at Priors Paddocks.

21.01.2022 MULCHING > is a job best done with friends! The recent dry, hot winter has been tough on our paddocks so they are in need of some extra TLC. Mulching with grassy round bales is a great way to protect over grazed areas, capture nutrients from manure and support the retention of moisture when the rains finally come. The horses also enjoy eating, rolling and sleeping in it while doing a great job of spreading the hay around the paddock

20.01.2022 HAY > is for horses! Hay is a true superfood for horses because it can closely mimic their natural feeding and digestive patterns. In order to gain most benefit for the horses and pasture, studies have shown its important to provide it as frequently as possible in conjunction with a variety of grasses and herbs. Priors Paddocks now includes free choice Rhodes hay as part of the agistment fee and the horses LOVE it. For more information visit our website www.priorspaddocks.com.au

18.01.2022 GREEN > The grass is growing beautifully this year which has posed challenges with some of the fatties but has pushed us to bring forward plans of a track paddock to increase movement of the herd. Stay tuned for a video of our new Priors Paddocks race track

18.01.2022 High fives all round We have a new sign on our front fence.... and better yet, we are half way through winter and still have plenty of lush green rhodes grass in our paddocks Winning! www.priorspaddocks.com.au

13.01.2022 AFTERNOONS > are my favourite time of the day. I love walking through the paddocks and giving the horses a cuddle. Its such a peaceful time of the day.

11.01.2022 My stable hand helping with the morning feeds

11.01.2022 WEEKENDS > equal work. We are constantly learning and growing and fencing and feeding. I call it a labour of love

09.01.2022 FREE RANGE HORSES > The horses on our property get the exclusive " Access All Areas" pass at Priors Paddocks One of these areas includes our 400m long driveway. The asphalt driveway is great for their hooves especially after rainy periods.

09.01.2022 So ends another day at Priors Paddocks....

08.01.2022 HOT DAYS > water play. Filling the water bucket is the perfect opportunity for some water fun.

08.01.2022 Little Legend joined the PP gang last week. We initially placed Legend in a paddock on his own and slowly introduced him to the group. One by one.... Following this we came to the conclusion that out of all of the horses in the paddock he was probably unlikely to ever have BFF status with Flicka the Chestnut mare given the attempted double barrel kick in the tack up yards aimed at Legend. So Legend joined the group yesterday. And havent they proved us wrong. It goes to show how sometimes as humans think we know what is best for our horses or what they actually need. But really we should respect their natural instincts and give them the freedom to work out it out for themselves

07.01.2022 Kaleidoscope sunsets

06.01.2022 The rain has been amazing this season. We havent needed to use the sprinkler once

06.01.2022 So much love for our little Priors Paddocks community Thank you for sharing and stocking the bucket of carrots Ainsley and Anne Cook. What spoilt horses we have

06.01.2022 RHODES -.... Glorious.... Rhodes Our rested paddocks are full of delicious Rhodes grass. The calcium levels and the low concentration of oxalates make Rhodes an ideal choice for a pasture that keeps our horses as healthy and happy as possible. 05.01.2022 Happy Birthday to all of our beloved horses

05.01.2022 Great article. The 3 most important things in a horses life are friends, freedom and forage. How is confining and isolating a horse to a small stable or yard (when there is not a medical reason to do so) any different to caged battery chickens, greyhound kennels or pig stalls? http://equimed.com//respect-the-power-of-the-horses-instin

05.01.2022 The end of the has found its way to Priors Paddocks.. hopefully it left a pot of gold chaff for the s (and a pot of gold for us too)

04.01.2022 POT OF GOLD > at the end of the rainbow must be waiting for us in the tack shed! The deluge of rain over the past 2 days has been a very welcome relief for the pasture after a hot, dry winter. The rhodes grass has started growing again right before our eyes! The horses have been enjoying time in the driveway paddock eating fresh grass, drying their feet on the asphalt and reducing compaction on soggy pasture. Happy rainy days everyonewww.priorspaddocks.com.au
