15.01.2022 Taking time for #ancientearthmindfulness with Cammeraygal Country. Taking time to sit with Country and breathe with the energy of Gunimaa Mother Earth is a wellness practice all peoples around the world have engaged with since the beginning of time. Our Maran have always known this is healing for us and we need to remember when we feel the overwhelm of life Gunimaa will hold space for us. When was the last time you sat with Gunimaa? #aboriginalwellness #aboriginalhealing #aboriginalhealth #aboriginaleducation

14.01.2022 Today I taught the young women how to make Johnny cakes. We were in the middle of North Sydney and it was the first time for us making JC. I loved that this experience created a gentle energy and it cleared away the concerns of the morning. Young people need more opportunities to learn with First Peoples and Country in authentic ways in both urban and rural areas. We worked with the challenges of the fire being too hot at first, limited time, COVID requirements, no chicken wi...re on the frame (Thanks Adrian for finding some for us) and the worry of them not cooking through. It all worked out in the end and every one enjoyed the bush jams (made by Aunty Beryl from @thencie) and wildflower honey with lashings of butter. Thanks Carl for getting the frame made for the fire pit, Adrian for sorting out the materials and finding the chicken wire at the last minute along with the run for a shovel, @nataliedhendricks for endless support and assisting the girls, @kim_bulloch for assisting and support and Emma for support and cleaning. It fills my heart with joy to share our stories and ways of being with such an amazing staff and students See more
