22.01.2022 Prism Defence are currently conducting flight trials to define Ship Helicopter Operating Limits (SHOL) for the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) in the vicinity of the Faroe Islands. The trial involves flight testing of the MH-60R Seahawk fleet to operate to the Royal Danish Navy (RDN) Knud Rasmussen Class offshore patrol vessels (OPV). Prism Defence has been awarded the contract to develop a ship airwake database for Australia’s new Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Hobart class of ships. This database will allow Australia’s Defence, Science and Technology Group (DST) to perform advanced helicopter modelling and risk-mitigation activities prior to First of Class Flight Trials in 2018. Prism will use state of the art computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniq...ues to map out the turbulent aerodynamic environment around the ship in many different relative wind conditions. 10.01.2022 It was announced today that Prism Defence's HeliSAFE software has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2017 Maritime Australia Industry Innovation Awards. Prism Defence is the sole South Australian company to be selected of the fifteen Australian innovators from the defence and civil sector. Now in their fifth year, the awards recognise and reward local companies and individuals at the forefront of naval and maritime innovation. They will be presented in five categories on Wednesday 4 October during the Pacific 2017 International Maritime Exposition at International Convention Centre Sydney - ICC Sydney.
