25.01.2022 Here's a recent upgrade one of our clients has had for their home. The old calcite filter had stopped working which led to green colouring of their basin. What that means is that the low pH water is eating into the copper lines in their house! Causing damage, that could become a costly repair. So we've supplied a calcite unit that has a backwash feature that will help neutralise the pH of the water.... At the same time, we've supplied our popular Protect-UV twin filtration system with Ultraviolet unit which will filter all sediment down to 1 micron, and kill 99.99% of bacteria & viruses. 23.01.2022 Water Tank Liners are a great option when you have cracks, leaks or issues with the structure of your tank. But they can be tricky to clean. We're specialists in cleaning water tanks with liners, having developed our processes to ensure you have Pristine drinking water. In these photos, Marcel from PWS Central Highlands (Ballarat, VIC), had to fish out dead possums. The water was rancid, so had to be dumped. Use a secure strainer and ensure your overflow pipes have mesh to prevent access. Sediment builds up over time as rain washes dirt and debris into your tanks. 22.01.2022 Marcel from PWS Central Highlands (Ballarat) wanted to highlight the sludge that can build up in the bottom of your drinking water storage tanks. It's not just the solid organic matter such as leaves and twigs. Your roof collects dust and dirt, which gets washed into your tank each time it rains. This sludge builds up over time.... It's recommended that tanks are cleaned at least every 2 years. Some need annual attention due to their location and accumulation of sludge. Sanitising your water needs to be a regular process. Basically, everytime you fill up your water tank (either delivery service or naturally from rain - or other sources). Reason being, bacteria can be flushed in at any time! 21.01.2022 Older Poly tanks can be known for structural problems. Here we have a tank that Tim was called out to clean after the customer had noticed a change in water quality. The roof had collapsed and left a hole where the top apex should be. That caused the roof to start acting as a funnel for all the debris and rubbish to be washed into the tank. It’s not uncommon for roofs to collapse in older plastic tanks, as many were not fitted with a central column to provide strength. Newer poly tank roofs are self-supporting and better designed. Key here is to inspect your tank on a regular basis. If you have any questions about tanks, we’d be more than happy to answer them. 18.01.2022 Poly (Plastic) tanks are a cost effective and popular water storage solution. But they have their own issues that you need to be aware of. Like all water storage tanks, sediment will build up over time. The flooring of Poly tanks are typically ribbed, so this can make the process a little more difficult. By and far the largest issue facing households with Poly tanks is the fact that metal roofs combined with plastic storage fails to balance out the pH of rainwater, which is n...aturally acidic. Concrete water tanks will naturally balance this pH problem out. But Poly tanks don't. And that is leading to corrosion in copper piping throughout houses. This can become a very expensive issue. The simple solution is regular tank cleaning and a filtration system to help balance the water pH. The cost of these systems can be far less expensive than having the pipework in your house spring a leak.

12.01.2022 Here's a DIY home-made Water Tank that Cameron from PWS Fraser Coast cleaned recently. Stains on the outside wall show signs of some leaching, but after a good clean and sanitise, this tank is as good as it was when it was first built (many many years ago). DID YOU KNOW ...... We can clean water tanks with liners? Our specially designed equipment allows us to clean tanks with liners, removing sediment buildup and dirt. Liners are a great option for older tanks, extending the life of the structure.

11.01.2022 We recently visited a customer in Andrews Farm where their rainwater tank wasn't holding any water! Seems the previous property owner had put a pipe inside the tank, straight to the overflow! The bottom of the tank had holes, so instead of repairing or replacing, the previous owner just decided to divert the water.... The new owners wanted to use the water for their gardens, so we were able to help them out with a new 1000 litre galvanised tank and ensure it was fit for use. 10.01.2022 The water in this tank is full of e.Coli Some strains of e.Coli are harmless, but other strains can cause diarrhea and make you very ill. 01.01.2022 Possums, snakes, birds, insects and even the family cat, are some of the vermin we've found in water tanks. Once they get in, they get trapped, and most often die in your drinking water. If not found early, this can make you ill and requires more work to get your water tank back into healthy shape. The 2 main entry ways are from your water inlet pipe (down drainpipes or from broken strainers) and your overflow pipe....
