24.01.2022 We sure hope this concrete tank has been reinforced before this little get away was built! Most concrete tanks are built with a centre pole. But they're not engineered to take the extra weight of a structure such as this. Have you dressed up your water tank?

24.01.2022 In this video, Chris from PWS Gold Coast North shows us why it is so important to ensure your water tanks do not allow animals to get inside. Use a secure strainer and ensure your overflow pipes have mesh to prevent access. Sediment builds up over time as rain washes dirt and debris into your tanks. So a thorough tank clean is recommended at least every 2 years (depending on your environmental area).... We can clean your tanks while their full With minimal water loss And Sanitise the water without the use of Chlorine

23.01.2022 It's not until you drain your rainwater tanks that you can usually tell you have problems. Dirt/sludge/organic matter ... this is where bacteria and viruses fester. You might not think there's a problem, but slightly upset stomachs or skin irritations are usually tell tale signs.... 22.01.2022 Planning on getting your solar panels cleaned ahead of summer? If you're thinking about getting your Solar Panels cleaned, make sure the contractor disconnects your storm water pipes first! We've had operators around the country dealing with drinking water tanks that have had detergents and chemicals washed in during the cleaning process.... Here's some tips to help: Disconnect pipes to divert runoff Ensure roof and gutters are washed down after If Hot Water solar panels, Propylene Glycol can leak and enter its way into your tank water. Remember to reconnect your pipes! These photos show the a Glycol film on top of the water. In less than a week after the Solar Panels were cleaned, the water turned putrid and toxic. The family were complaining of headaches and a metallic taste. As the weather warms up, these are early warning signs that there's something not quite right with your drinking water.

22.01.2022 Does your local school have water tanks? Brad was called out by his local school janitor to help them with a problem. We can't work how so much rubbish has made it's way into the tanks, but this is the end result! Even if the water is only being used for irrigation around the school, the tanks still need cleaning at least every 2 years.... Let us know if your local schools need help in maintaining their water tanks.

20.01.2022 Some water tanks are pretty big ... but then ....

19.01.2022 Think your rainwater is fresh and crystal clear? These photos show what builds up on the bottom of your tank. Not only dirt and debris, but a poor snake had perished getting trapped in the tank when it was looking for some water in recent heat.... The Australian Government Department of Health recommends rainwater tanks should be cleaned every 2 to 3 years. This all depends on your location, water usage, water source, and how well you maintain your water tanks! Give us a call if you would like your water tank cleaned and sanitised ready for Summer!

18.01.2022 Here's a DIY home-made Water Tank that Cameron from PWS Fraser Coast cleaned recently. Stains on the outside wall show signs of some leaching, but after a good clean and sanitise, this tank is as good as it was when it was first built (many many years ago). DID YOU KNOW ...... We can clean water tanks with liners? Our specially designed equipment allows us to clean tanks with liners, removing sediment buildup and dirt. Liners are a great option for older tanks, extending the life of the structure.

18.01.2022 Possums, snakes, birds, insects and even the family cat, are some of the vermin we've found in water tanks. Once they get in, they get trapped, and most often die in your drinking water. If not found early, this can make you ill and requires more work to get your water tank back into healthy shape. The 2 main entry ways are from your water inlet pipe (down drainpipes or from broken strainers) and your overflow pipe.... These photos are before and after of a water tank Marcel from PWS Central Highlands (Ballarat VIC) helped sort out for a client who had found possums in their tanks.

14.01.2022 Water Tank Liners are a great option when you have cracks, leaks or issues with the structure of your tank. But they can be tricky to clean. We're specialists in cleaning water tanks with liners, having developed our processes to ensure you have Pristine drinking water. In these photos, Marcel from PWS Central Highlands (Ballarat, VIC), had to fish out dead possums. The water was rancid, so had to be dumped. But a thorough clean and sanitisation has this tank ready for use again.

12.01.2022 To ensure your drinking water is the best it can be, we need to do more than just remove the sludge that builds up over time. It's what you can't see that can be harmful to your health! Over decades, we have developed our processes and systems to ensure your drinking water is Pristine! This includes removing the sludge that builds up on the bottom of the tank, organic material (and sometimes dead animals), and applying our professional grade Water Sanitiser.... AqueousPro is our very own water sanitiser that has been specifically designed to eradicate bacteria and viruses from your stored water. It is included by the National Health & Medical Research Council for use in Drinking Water and is listed in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) as a chemical available for use in the treatment of drinking water. It is NOT a Chlorine based chemical, but is environmentally friendly and ecologically harmless and is completely safe to drink. We are the experts in stored drinking water. If you would like to learn a little more about AqueousPro, feel free to visit our website: https://www.pristinewatersystems.com.au/aqueouspro50/

08.01.2022 The water in this tank is full of e.Coli Some strains of e.Coli are harmless, but other strains can cause diarrhea and make you very ill. But just applying a water sanitiser to kill bacteria and viruses is not enough to ensure your drinking water is safe for consumption.... To ensure you have safe healthy drinking water, we remove sludge and organic material before we sanitise. Otherwise, bacteria will hide in and around the organic matter, only to continue making you ill. Our water sanitiser, AqueousPro, is a foodgrade sanitiser. The ingredients are included by the National Health & Medical Research Council for use in Drinking Water and is listed in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. So if you or anyone in your household regularly complain about an upset stomach, then it's a high probability it is coming from your water tanks.

06.01.2022 Another WHAT THE? moment These two golf balls were sucked up into Peter's pump when cleaning a tank recently. It makes us wonder ... where they practicing their chip shots into their water tank? Why wouldn't you fish them out?... We're taking a guess that these two probably landed on the roof of the house (water source) and were washed down through the drainpipe. It pays to have your water tank cleaned at least every 2 years. You just don't know what makes its way into your drinking water!

06.01.2022 Do you have a First Flush System for your rainwater tanks? Wet weather is forecast across most of the country (can we really rely on the weather report?), and if you have a First Flush system feeding into your water tanks, you need to make sure it is clear of debris and stagnant water. This is the photo of the bottom of a first flush system that was recently cleaned out. The new owners of this property had no idea what the system was, or how to maintain. And they had been on ...the property for 4 years! You may need to divert the first flush system to clear out the stagnant water and debris that is sitting in it. Bacteria will be present, and you may find frogs/toads and other insects/animals. Proper maintenance will help alleviate these getting flushed into your tank, contaminating your water.

01.01.2022 Poly (Plastic) tanks are a cost effective and popular water storage solution. But they have their own issues that you need to be aware of. Like all water storage tanks, sediment will build up over time. The flooring of Poly tanks are typically ribbed, so this can make the process a little more difficult. By and far the largest issue facing households with Poly tanks is the fact that metal roofs combined with plastic storage fails to balance out the pH of rainwater, which is n...aturally acidic. Concrete water tanks will naturally balance this pH problem out. But Poly tanks don't. And that is leading to corrosion in copper piping throughout houses. This can become a very expensive issue. The simple solution is regular tank cleaning and a filtration system to help balance the water pH. The cost of these systems can be far less expensive than having the pipework in your house spring a leak.
