25.01.2022 WARNING - please keep children off TikTok and other social media platforms for a few days. PH is incredibly distressed to hear our young people have again been privy, through no fault of their own, to inappropriate social media content.

23.01.2022 We are now at our very gorgeous new home at 244 Malop Street, Geelong. Such a beautiful old building with very high ceilings. Feels warm and welcoming already.

23.01.2022 UPDATE FOR GEELONG'S NORTHERN SUBURBS AND LARA: Coronavirus fragments have been detected in wastewater at the Oyster Cove treatment plant in Corio. If you are a... resident or have visited Geelong's northern suburbs or Lara from November 21 to 23, please get tested if you have any symptoms, no matter how mild. Stay home until you have your result. Find a testing site near you: https://dhhs.vic.gov.au/getting-tested See more

22.01.2022 My heart is sad with another young life ended. Our world is a bit different at the moment. Let’s all look out for each other. Nothing is worth losing your life over. #pleasetalk and #bekind

21.01.2022 If any psychologists, MHSW's, MHOT's or CMHN's would like to join PH Alliance please get in touch. We are particularly keen to add providers who work in our Northern suburbs and Lara. We are also keen to add more providers across the region with expertise working with children and families and/or able to work with people at risk of suicide. Give Felicia a call on 0422 466 222 and have a chat.

20.01.2022 In preparation for a return to face-to-face appointments for patients, we have been testing some options for face masks. Of course, telehealth is still available if none of these are appealing.

19.01.2022 Thank you Minister Hunt for your kind words on International Nurses Day. I would like you today to reflect on your words and ask yourself do we as a Government truly respect and understand the work that nurses do. If the answer is yes you cannot ignore any longer the need for nurses to receive better access to MBS. For Nurse Practitioners to be reimbursed in an equitable and just manner that is respectful of the work that we do. And that Mental Health Nurse Practitioners are respectfully added to Better Access within MBS alongside mental health nurses. For too long we have been ignored. Now is the time in the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, during a pandemic and on International Nurses Day to truly reward us for what we do. @Sian_NP see you on Twitter @GregHuntMP

18.01.2022 Again I say. Nurses have been voted the most trustworthy professionals in the world for over 25years. Do not! I repeat! DO NOT! Inject disinfectant into your body thinking you will get rid of any disease! Very worrying.

17.01.2022 A big thank you to all the nurses out there #yearofthenurseandmidwife

17.01.2022 Nurse Practitioner’s Can

16.01.2022 Our Therapy Dog was on the job yesterday at Clonard College. His official reason for visiting? Make people happy. Just doing what he does best

16.01.2022 The more people who download this in Oz the quicker we are going to be up and about with others. I’m looking forward to spending more time out and about and getting back to clinic. The info gathered is what you would have to remember and give to health officials when they ask you anyway if you contract COVID19. This makes it easier for you and quicker for them to notify people who have been in contact with you for more than 15mins. This is about looking out for each other.

16.01.2022 What would your mother say? A great read on decision making. Enjoy and don’t forget to wash those hands everyone. Keep safe

14.01.2022 Barnaby our beautiful therapy dog helped keep Tash Jennings company for flu vaccine clinic yesterday. Great job Barnaby. Everyone felt very comforted and relaxed Geelong Emergency Clinic

12.01.2022 To all the nurses out there. In the Year of the Nurse and Midwife let’s take a moment. I would like to thank you for what you do and who you are. We are a special breed

12.01.2022 The skill set of Mental Health Nurses is still not recognised by the Government who want to keep nurses in hospitals. Please lobby Greg Hunt and local politicians so that you can use your mental health treatment plan to see us.

12.01.2022 If you wonder why we ask you to wear a mask, wash your hands and socially distance it’s because we care about health workers as well as you. Let’s all do the right thing and look after each other. So far, I am so very proud to be a Victorian Australian. Thank you everyone.

11.01.2022 We can all do our bit. Geelong has active cases. Let’s try to keep a lid on this guys to avoid lock down. Oh and save lives. Wash those hands

10.01.2022 Please listen to this nurse. These are my people. My friends. My colleagues. They will care for you and risk their own lives but they would rather not. Thank you for staying home, wearing a mask, washing your hands and socially distancing. Let’s all look after each other.

10.01.2022 From feeling really scared, anxious, tearful and unable to sleep 7 short weeks ago I feel we are better prepared. Thank you for Staying At Home and protecting our health services. Together we will be able to reduce mortality and trauma through COVID19.

08.01.2022 This is a tough time for all. Years ago I did ED shifts at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and can see a more recent colleague in this video so thought I’d share. Help us all guys. Stay at home, wear a mask if you must go out, social distance and as all good nurses say wash those hands please. Keep safe fellow nurses.

06.01.2022 Hero’s and Heroine’s. The Gov here in Australia has seen fit to exclude nurses with primary care practices access to PPE. Only for GP clinics! Not good enough. In the Year of the Nurse and Midwife it’s time nurses gained equivalent footing to their medical colleagues. MBS numbers. Seats at the tables of power. We may be angels but we don’t want to be real ones just yet.

06.01.2022 A good Sunday morning to all those nurses out there. Others may not get the jokes but I’m guessing every nurse will. Take care guys and thank you to you all for doing what you do x

04.01.2022 Ooooh. We love our new home at 244 Malop Street and we think you will too. It's big, it's bright and it has some gorgeous architecture (Of course, our most important focus is you, but it's nice to have a little bit of luxury). With a larger space, we can now work with consults of more than two people, so that's going to be helpful for families. Our reception area has plenty of room for social distancing and Felicia is enjoying the new surroundings. There's plenty of parking... outside and we're here with Tash Jennings and Nurse Practitioner Locum Solutions www.nplocumsolutions.com as we establish a world-class Nurse Practitioner hub here in Geelong that will be able to help people achieve better health outcomes. Very happy. Big smiles.

03.01.2022 But how long do we have to change our lives for and STAY AT HOME. I don’t share this easily. This is not easy to read and unless you have worked as a nurse you may not understand all the technical talk. You will however glean the human distress. Early in she talks about learning as you go. Those who get sick later in the pandemic will be better off than those at the beginning. Around the world they are learning. They are getting ready. We in Australia need to hear this. This ...is why we have to do what we are doing. I was terrified 2 months ago. I knew what was coming and I didn’t want it to come. I wanted to slow things as much as possible. To get ready. Yes life is different but it’s life. To me? That’s better than death. Death of my fiancé, death of my children. The grief that will affect the world will be different to normal grief. The trauma is going to be extraordinary. My heart weeps for my colleagues across the world and the communities living this. The politicians need to reach inside and find the human. They need to protect the healthcare workers who ultimately take the brunt of what is a global pandemic. And heading up those healthcare workers are nurses. In the year of the nurse and midwife we see what is nursing. It’s being a human with a human connection. Thank you to all nurses in the world. I am so proud to have chosen this profession. See more

03.01.2022 I was nervous about getting the COVID vacc but terrified about getting COVID. Risk v benefits. Thank you to Kardinia Health Resp clinic for your professionalism. You made it easy and made a #nurse feel more safe.

02.01.2022 Whilst Greg Hunt continues to ignore mental health nurses value why not take a look at our skill set. If you feel you are being discriminated against not able to see a MHN subsidised by Medicare or using a mental health treatment plan why not send a letter to your local federal MP telling them.

02.01.2022 An hour long so if you don’t have time skip to the HIV lady Dr about 25mins in. If you’re embarrassed about wearing a mask this may help you shake that off. Wearing a mask may save your life. You may get less sick. In fact you may be asymptotic. Let’s mask up in Geelong guys. Let’s look after each other, get some immunity if we have to but not kill each other. I’m the one with the pink glasses and a mask out there

02.01.2022 Mental health nurses do not have access to MBS and Telehealth. As the largest health professional workforce nurses struggle for equal access when it comes to supporting our community. Please sign. We want to work with you at this very difficult time and want you to be able to have easy access to a MHN’s. Thank you Sian

01.01.2022 Barnaby wanted to send a message and a smile. We can do this guys. Let’s stay at home and look after each other. Call a mate. Have a natter. Enquire if they need anything. We’re all in this together and remember. This is NOT our forever world. This is just for now. Let’s get ready to cheer when Covid’s gone. If you’re not sure how you’re travelling and need to chat give us a call at Pritchard Health 0422 466 222. Worries do not equal mental illness so don’t worry about getting ‘diagnosed’. You can just call up to make an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner. Sharing our worries can be a little re set
