25.01.2022 I decided to send a thank email to the Australian Consulate in Dhaka, Bangladesh to show my gratitude for all the services I have received to date. Copied the Deputy High Commissioner for her information. It gave me a type of satisfaction by expressing my true and timely feelings about the quarantine process as I am in it!

22.01.2022 My soul took the opportunity and got out through the window. I travelled along with the beautiful floating clouds on the sky.

21.01.2022 The adventure journey began at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and ended in Canberra. In between, air travel like never before, surprise at Melbourne airport and finally, a 14 days mandatory quarantine! I want to share all these experiences with you all as part of my own personal journey during this critical period.

19.01.2022 Dinner time. Knock on the door. Opened the door, the brown bag has been delivered with dinner. The security guard is still sitting on the corridor (may be a different one) watching all guests restricted movements. Dinner menu was good, baked fish with pumpkin puree and green beans with bread and coke.

13.01.2022 It is the beginning of the month of Ramadan tomorrow. I even cannot remember whether I had ever observed first day of Ramadan without my family either in Bangladesh or in Australia! Ramadan in isolation.

09.01.2022 I tried to record all my observations since the moment I was dropped off at the airport by our long serving driver Mosharaf on 16 April 2020. I wish to continue this log until I reach to my family in Canberra hopefully on 2 May 2020.

08.01.2022 The whole airport looked like a Zombie land. Everybody inside were wearing masks, hand gloves and some people wearing the protective clothing. No one was laughing or smiling. Kids were not even jumping around. Everyone seems to be under a panic situation. Everyone seems like, just waiting to board on the flight. And as if, they will be happier, healthier, safer once they are inside the flight. All shops were closed. Only one small snack corner was open. 07.01.2022 Thanks to Netflix movie theatre! As if, it was ‘introduced’ to comfort quarantined people. I really did not know, what would I do without a Netflix account. Last night, it was a bit late to sleep as I was enjoying a Spanish thriller on a serial killing in a small country town. The whole season had six episodes. I could only finish four as it was already 4:00am in the morning.

03.01.2022 As part of my daily routine, called Nigar and she was overly excited to receive Iftar from Parul’s house. Shared a photo of the beautifully presented iftar (photo below). Immediately, I wrote a nice txt to Shaheen and Parul, expressing how happy I was for them to share Iftar with their neighbours even in a time when social distancing is in place!
