22.01.2022 What is it about a #confined #space that makes it so scary? Are we justified in our fear of confined spaces? Being scared won’t save lives. Knowledge will. Understanding the potential hazards associated with a confined space, and the risk they pose, is the first step. Knowledge is the answer, and knowledge is gained by quality training and education. 21.01.2022 Our trainers don't just go and train, they also look at the ways your business can improve it's safety and they make recommendations. Last year while training, our newest Trainer Tim, made a recommendation to our client to introducing two way radios as a method of communications, and he went back for training recently and they have implemented this which is awesome to see! #worksafety #prmtraining

20.01.2022 Its our challenge as educators in emergency management, to provide training that is realistic, engaging and will endure in the minds of those who attend. That challenge was made easier last week for us, owing to our good friends at UPA Molong, and my new mate Daphne. In keeping with Standards and NSW Health Directives, we provide evacuation training in complex health and disability care workplaces, using the evac methods available in that facility. Evacuating beyond substanti...al fire compartmentation was made as realistic as possible, with local resident Daphne playing the role of the resident being evacuated. Daphne commented how partaking in evacuations made the process easier for her, should she need to leave in an emergency. Lessons learnt: 1. Include residents in training where possible, so they may understand how we are working as a team to ensure their safety 2. Managers of facilities should use this practical training to form the basis of new employee inductions 3. Test the adequacy of your proposed evac methods, dont just talk about them. At the conclusion of this training, staff are adamant they will be using wheelchairs to evac their facility. Our sincere thanks to the staff at UPA Molong for inviting us along again in 2019
