21.01.2022 Here we go people of proactivity, my first knowledge bomb. We all have our favourites. Wether it be foods, pastimes, excuses. Oftenthese favourite things aren't the best for us, and we tend to cut them out when we make a commitment to our newfound fitness goals. Wether it be lose weight, gain muscle, run a marathon or just stick it up someones sphancter and say, "suck it, i proved you wrong" we generally sacrifice the things we love for the results we want. Unfortunately, ev...en more generally, when times get tough, for whatever reason, we always come running back to our little favourites, and as a result, are overcome with feelings of guilt and failure, then leading to a throwing in of the towel. LOSER. BUT, what if i told you that you didn't have to open yourself up to those feelings? What if i said you COULD have your cake and eat it too? The easiest way to fail in fitness is to set unrealistic goals, especially when first starting out. BE REAL! Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is your dream body. You have to ease yourself into your new lifestyle, because it is just that. A lifestyle. If you ban yourself from a whole bunch of thingsyou're going to turn into a miserable sod, and unless you have an incredibly strong will, and really good friends that can tolerate you being a sad sack, you're going to bomb out. So be smart. Don't CUT OUT..CUT BACK. It's so much easierand is the sustainable choice in the long run. Moral of the story, if you like your cake. Eat your F*&%ing cake. Just eat less.and then work that cake off. Hit me up if you need a handi'll be the one with my hand in a nutella jar. *insert cool signing off phrase*



20.01.2022 Rise and grind! I generally hate cardio. I understand its benefits...but my god it's awful. I don't know how many times I've tried to tell myself that tomorrow I'm going to get back into it and try and make myself an athlete...only to wake up the next morning and realize that nope....still hate cardio. This morning was no exception. It was six degrees. It was dark. I had a late start so I didn't have to be out of bed. I could have justified not going to myself all day long...... But I got up. I got dressed. I sat beside the heater for about 15 minutes fighting the urge to go back to bed. I grabbed my headphones and I walked out that door. And then I realized it's still F&%KING COLD!!! 30 minutes later. Done. Did I enjoy it? No. No I did not. But there's heaps of things we do in everyday lives that we don't enjoy. Yet we do them. And our health is something that if we maintain and work on, and sometimes do the little things we don't necessarily enjoy...we actually stand to benefit from. So why not take some time out and do something for you? I'm now back home. Warm. Clear minded and whilst most of you snuggly fuckers are still in bed....I've productively kicked off my week with a nicely slotted goal. Monday's here guys. This is a new week. New challenge. A new oppurtunity!

19.01.2022 Peeps, With the weekend around the corner, and mid year approaching, i feel the need to speak of the importance of planning. Most of us set goals at the start of the year.yes? And how many of you have been kicking them. My guess is, a majority started strong, had a setback, lost momentum and have since given up or have been going throughout the motions. We all have lulls in our training and life. We get a little momentum or energy spurt, set unrealistic goals and then when ...we don't have immediate success, we throw in the towel. Its human nature.we are all about results! The trick is, not only do we have to set attainable, REALISTIC goals.we also have to set a plan in place to achieve them. And then comes the important bit. FOLLOW IT. Be it a gym program. A meal plan. An event plan.it doesn't matter. Have a goal. Break it down. Make a plan that allows you to consistently be hitting targets and giving you that sense of accomplishment that we all seek, and follow it. TRUST THE PROCESS!! If you need help, i love this type of stuff!! I love the enjoyment and the sense of achievement i see in peoples faces when they tick a box, reach a target or kick a goal. I love putting a plan in place and watching it come together before my very eyes. I pride myself on your results.so I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure you're getting them. 17.01.2022 Good evening kids, today's lesson is based on "knowing what you want" Speaking with someone in the gym today raised my attention to a simple fact. Most people aren't training for what they want! Or to be more accurate, most people aren't training specifically to their goals. Take this common scenario for instance. Many people come to me wanting to lose weight. But what I want you to think about is this. Do you want to lose weight...or do you want to get leaner?...because the... training methods behind each can be quite differing. The same can be said for you gainers. Do you want to gain muscle....or do you want to get bigger. And then furthermore....do you want to bigger....or stronger? Whilst sometimes our goals can go hand in hand with others....its ALWAYS more beneficial to know your exact goal. Then it's a case of putting a SPECIFIC plan together to make sure those goals are kicked and you can look onwards and upwards! So get thinking.... Get planning...and Get doing! Need help? 10.01.2022 Regardless of what your goal may be...there's no better time to get things rolling than a Monday morning. It's cold. You've got a massive week of work ahead and you just want 1 more hours sleep. You've just come off a rather large weekend and may still be feeling the....effects. Whatever. But if you push all those excuses aside....and get in and get it over and done with....that's one less for the rest of the week. There's no guilt for a lazy start. There's the moral boost of... knowing you're on the way to achieving your set goals. Plus, there's the scientific stuff of releasing those beautiful endorphins that'll have you feeling heaps more warm and cuddly than your feather doona would at home. Get up. Go for a walk. Get to the gym. Do your thing....whatever your poison. Just get it done! Monday sets the tone for your entire week guys. Make it a PRO-ACTIVE one! #seewhatididthere ?

10.01.2022 Had a throw in one of the most old school dungeon gyms I've ever been to today in Byron...and I fucking loved it! The place didn't have one item of equipment in it less than 1 thousand years old....and was an absolute sweat box....but for some reason it just kicked arse. People. Just because you're out of routine...doesn't mean the hard work and results stop. Nor does it mean that you don't get to enjoy yourself. USE THE NEW! 06.01.2022 Training Partners.... For some, the solitude of a workout is therapeutic. A chance to escape everything and have some 'ME' time. But for others, it can be an excuse to simply go through the motions. Some people struggle to generate the self motivation required to get continual results. And then there's just some of us that have shit days! For those times....a training partner can be a godsend. To hold you accountable to what you said you'd do yesterday. To make you work that little bit harder. To push you, that little bit further... 05.01.2022 Ok folks. Time to fess up.... I MISSED IT! On our return from holiday...I set myself the target to lose the weight I'd found within the same timeframe (3 weeks). So....for the numbers people's out there that want details....the task was this. Lose 5kg in 3 weeks. ... Put simply. I didn't achieve my goal. A 4.5kg loss left me close...but no cigar. But do I class this as a failure?HELL NO! As cheesy as it is...the journey was the reward here. Yes, It challenged me, both mentally and physically, but most importantly...I learned a lot about myself. What works for my body and how it reacts to certain things. What it does and doesn't like (still hates cardio!) and what I can and can't get away with. But what I enjoyed most....its helps me relate to people. Everyday people. Because let's face it. Not everyone lives for fitness. A very smart man spoke to me recently about the importance of balance in your life...and it really rang true. I am the type of person and trainer that appreciates the rewards that come with fitness. And I encourage my clients and friends to do the same. You don't punish yourself for hours in the gym, and hold back on the ice cream in the freezer without knowing that there is a little cherry at the end waiting for you. What that cherry might be is completely up to you. It might be a holiday, or a weekend with the boys/girls. It might be a couple of slurpies at the footy or a nice dinner and night out on the town. It might just be so you can sit yourself down on the couch, shut the doors and blinds and do nothing but watch trash TV and eat chips and lollies. But the important thing is that you can do those favourite things without guilt. EARN IT. I worked my arse of to get to where I wanted to be before the trip. Now I'm going to have to work my arse off to get back there....and beyond. But I had a HELL OF A TIME in between...and I would not change a thing. I want to congratulate you all on a fantastic year, and remind you that you have earned these holidays...so enjoy your festive break with family and friends and know that it is deserved! Acupuncture is the insertion of the tips of needles into the skin at specific points in order to stimulate nerve impulses and focus the bodies restorative energy to the particular area of pain/discomfort. Following our recent overseas adventure...my body has been feeling like it's breaking down, and in desperate need of some attention. So, today, I decided to give acupuncture a go. 01.01.2022 Time for a challenge!! As most of you know....we recently returned from our sunny American getaway to the cold, but beautiful beaches. Luckily for me...I've returned with an extra layer of coverage to keep me warm The food was incredible, and whilst I ate RELATIVELY well, and for the most part my training was on point....i inevitably gained a few holiday handles. Does it bother me? A little. ... Do I regret it? Not in the least Has it ruined my progress? F$%k no! The way I'm choosing to look at it....It took me 3 weeks to gain...it's going to take me 3 weeks to lose. A CHALLENGE! I'm recharged and ready to go. Remember, you're allowed to enjoy yourself in fitness too. I wasn't going to go on a holiday and not make the most of it. But now I'm back. And now it's time to knuckle down, get in routine and make things happen. I know the ins and outs of it. I know the benefits of a break. I know what needs to be done. The only thing left to do...is to do it. Perception proactive people! Don't think of it as a setback. Think of it as a challenge. 2forward/1back. Want help with your own goals? 01.01.2022 Balance. Just because you're routine is disrupted...doesn't mean your progress is. This weekend I got to venture back home for my dearest mothers 50th birthday. I grew up on a property..so in the line of gyms...I've not for much choice. But does that mean it all goes to shit? HELL NO. This morning I put myself through my paces. Hill sprints and some nice simple circuits. Now. I get to surround myself with friends and family, and enjoy some quality GUILT FREE bonding. ... Life.Is.Good
