22.01.2022 Everyone who knows me, knows I talk about caution when it comes to vaccinating our dogs. Annual vaccination is proven as unnecessary and who would want to pump chemical toxins to any body when it’s not required? That’s why for my dogs, I like to check first, by way of a Titre test. With my previous boy Mandela, he had his first two puppy vaccines, I titred shortly after to confirm sero-conversion and from there on, I titred periodically. Sadly, I lost my boy when he was 1...0yo to bone cancer, but earlier that same year his Titre still showed immunity. He had never had a booster in his whole life. Many people are now doing titres instead of just routinely vaccinating but there are vets who talk about low antibody counts and suggesting if this is the case in a Titre test result, vaccination booster is required. I’m not a vet but I do my research. And I keep myself aware of what’s going on in the environments I have my dogs in. I’ve always held the belief that you can’t be a little bit immune. To me that’s like saying you’re a little bit pregnant. You either are, or you are not. That’s the way I see it anyway. I’m not giving anyone advice here - that’s not my place. I’m only sharing my thoughts and what I’ve learned by much reading. For those who have been wondering themselves whether a low Titre antibody count dictates a booster is required or not, Vet Dr Robb has put his knowledge and opinion into words. As always, do your own research and do not be afraid to ask your vet questions and only be satisfied when you are absolutely comfortable when you’ve received a balanced and equitable information by response. https://www.facebook.com/1690995850929505/posts/3903528339676234/?d=n

20.01.2022 To our Members. You’ve not been forgotten! That’s the main reason for this post. Still fighting/working to have our work recognised for what it is and should be. It was, under S1, 2, 3 and 3.5, but under S4 it’s as though we simply fell off someone’s desk and we don’t ‘fit’ anywhere. With the help of a local MP we are working on it, but the wheels of government grind excruciatingly slowly when you want and need their serious attention. ... New enquirers have been asking when. Being very truthful, we don’t know. Much depends on the Premier’s ‘conditions’ when and as he gives any small relaxation of the current lockdown restrictions. These conditions will dictate what we can make workable for and with our Members - existing and new - and people who need some other of the services we offer and provide. I’ve been inundated with calls for help and I’ve done what I can to help over the phone. This is by no means ideal and is often severely limited because of the fact that we can’t see your dog, but for many, it has helped them - at least in part and for the meanwhile until we are allowed to see you again. We at Pro-K9 hope you are staying safe and coping as best as you can while we endure these restrictions. The great news is that the virus case numbers are falling so there really should be no reason to not hope that Daniel Andrews will see fit to accelerate his roadmap destination dates a little sooner than initially predicted. That’s a fingers crossed from us, at least. Hoping all our existing Members have been continuing with the training they have managed to learn from us before we were shut down. Would love to hear from you all in the comments below of the progress you’re making, or send me an email if you’d prefer. And now to finish off, here’s a photo of one of our longest doggy Members - Lucky celebrating his 5th Birthday. He’s become quite the expert posing for his annual Birthday photo shoot ..... of course followed up by his doggy Birthday cake which is obviously something he is looking forward to. Thanks for the photo, Em

11.01.2022 We’ve hit the political face book pages! Not there yet, but gaining some traction. Link to LNP page included (click to follow). Thanks also to Brad Battin MP (LNP) who made the media article possible in the first place and who has been writing to DHHS on our behalf. He and his office has been a wealth of support and has given much time to our plight over the past 6 weeks.... https://www.facebook.com/191118927584830/posts/3910442205652465/?d=n

10.01.2022 Please share this. We need to draw the attention of the DHHS. And please add your name to the petition - link is at the foot of the article. https://pakenham.starcommunity.com.au//dog-days-trainers/

10.01.2022 A bit stretched for opportunity to take happy snaps as we have previously done, but managed one of Finn who enjoyed a dip in the pool today. Fortunately it wasn’t as hot this morning as we expected it to be - it actually rained in the beginning and some members in the earlier group were feeling a bit chilly due to under-dressing in anticipation of a ‘stinker’ - but I don’t think there was any stopping Finn. Thanks Finn ..... it was good to see you make use of the clam shell pool for at least a little cool down

01.01.2022 Narelle Cooke is a person who I’ve worked with during my years as dog Behaviourist Trainer and who I’ve kept up with during her years of expanding into the very important field of dog nutrition. The dog’s diet is always a subject of interest to me, not only because of generally physical health, but because I recognise the affects diet has to our dogs’ behaviour. Narelle is a person dedicated to her studies and expansion of knowledge and I have no hesitation in recommending ...her as a go to person for consultation on dog diets. Narelle now lives in NSW - sad loss to Victoria, but via social media can still be a great source of assistance to many around Australia. She is a big advocate of whole raw balanced feeding as am I. Here she is on TV show Pooches at Play, talking about a subject that you all may find interesting. https://www.facebook.com/105212422841186/posts/4054613394567716/?vh=e

01.01.2022 NOTICE TO MEMBERS AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS Further to our "Notice" Post of 22 June 2020 (below), we confirm that we have now created an additional Foundation Level training time slot of 11.30am. This additional time slot training will commence as of Sunday 19 July 2020. As aforementioned, this is not intended as a permanent fixture, but only while it is necessary and so that we can meet not only our "capped dog number : instructor" ratio guarantee, but also the CoVid19 direc...tives which restrict people numbers. We confirm that it's not a "free choice" option to come to whichever Foundation time slot you chose from one Sunday to the next. You need to be assigned to a specific time slot. I'm sorry to sound so regimented about it, but it's the only way we can keep an eye on and make sure that numbers don't exceed the maximums permitted. In fact, we are currently planning on opening yet another additional Foundation Level training time slot for 12.30pm, to accomodate those who need assistance and guidance with their dog's training. Further news on that to come at the appropriate time.
