23.01.2022 Due to the high demand of patients with urgent and painful conditions we have decided to still do some face to face consults for the time being. Screening and cleaning safety measures are in place to keep you as safe as possible. There is only 1 physiotherapist operating from the clinic at any one time. To keep you safe and to comply with the social distancing laws we are able to deliver the same great outcomes using our online video based consultations model, if hands on t...reatment is not required. These consultations have proven to provide the same if not better outcomes for patients and include comprehensive home exercise prescription and monitoring Do you need to speak to someone? In these difficult times it is important to have someone to talk to and get some sound advice. For this reason I am making myself available to answer your questions and I will do my best to arrange to speak with you or at worst send you a personal email reply. Email me at [email protected] with your questions, phone number and best time to call. See more

17.01.2022 Proactive Physiotherapy would like to thank all those who so generously donated to help Rejoice unite with her family. Her go fund me page reached $8500 a couple of days ago and we were all becoming more hopeful that she was slowly reaching her goal. 2 days ago, Rejoice received directly an incredibly generous Christmas gift of $20,000 from an anonymous donor. We would like to let you all know that her family have travelled to South Africa where they were covid tested and pe...nding those results, will fly to Adelaide via Singapore, where they will then quarantine for 2 weeks before arriving in Cairns. Peter Morrison and his wife at Cairns Central travel agency have worked tirelessly to make this happen as quickly as possible for Rejoice. Thank you to all those that have helped to make this possible. We have been tearfully overjoyed at this incredible generosity in which is reflected the true meaning of giving at Christmas. Wishing all our clients and followers a very Merry Christmas.

12.01.2022 The Launch Of FitRight Impact! . This is pretty exciting... an idea that Ive had for FitRight for many years is coming alive for the next course of... FitRight Online, starting the week of 18th May . Introducing our newest baby, FitRight Impact! . As a bit of a background, I created FitRight to fill a big gap and provide a much needed service for women - physio led exercise classes that were low impact but still challenging. An alternative to the popular classes like Body Combat, F45 and Boot Camp, showing women how to still get a good overall body workout without the star jumps and burpees and mountain climbers. . But theres nothing wrong with star jumps and burpees and mountain climbers. . In fact, I would highly recommend building up to high impact options like this, or running, or team sports, for the health of your bones and heart. And international guidelines on exercise say the same. . The problem comes about when a woman wants to do these high impact options, but they cause issues like joint pain, urinary leakage or prolapse symptoms. . And this is not uncommon - my Masters research project interviewed nearly 400 women who exercise at gyms and showed that approx 50% of them leaked urine with coughing, sneezing or exercise. . So... FitRight Impact is the missing link . A group exercise class, led by a physiotherapist with extra training in womens health and pelvic floor health (the lovely Jess Vanson from @movement.ephysio ), that introduces higher load and impact than the traditional FitRight classes. . Exercise workouts that help you to achieve your goals to do with sport, running or the gym, with your pelvic floor and joint health taken into consideration. . Appropriate for women of any age, however pre screening assessments will be necessary to make sure that these classes are a good fit for you. . Bookings open now! . 6:30am Mondays . OR . 8am Saturdays . https://fitright.physio//fitness-classes-fo/ladies-online/ . (Link also in bio) . Spread the word! Exercise classes can be high impact and still pelvic floor friendly!

10.01.2022 Something to consider using as an adjunct to your physiotherapy program

10.01.2022 Please consider helping one of my employees Rejoice, who came to work for me in March 2020. Her family were booked to follow 6 weeks later once Rejoice had found schools and established a home. Her husband and family of 5 children aged 3 to 15, have been unable to get to Australia, because of the excessive airline prices and cost or quarantine totalling in excess of $25,000. It would be wonderful if they coiuld be united by Christmas, or anytime as i feel it may be a long time before airfares and no quarantine will allow them to come. Please share this with your friends

02.01.2022 What we doing to protect our current patients against Covid-19? The health and safety of our clients and staff is of utmost importance to us. This is how we are dealing with this situation. If a patient is at all unwell, even mildly unwell with a sore throat, or have been in close contact with someone that is unwell, or diagnosed with Covid-19 we are asking them to reschedule their appointment.. We are are asking any patient to reschedule appointments for 2 weeks if they ...have travelled overseas, or have travelled by plane to a major capital city in Australia, that has high activity of cases of Covid-19 We are continuing with current clinical staff hand hygiene processes and cleaning of plinths chairs and desks after every use. Any items used by clients within treatment rooms will be cleaned after every use. We are staggering appointment times to minimise the number of people in our waiting room, allowing everyone to socially distance appropriately. We currently have hand sanitiser available for your use on arrival and prior to departure. We are cleaning common areas multiple times a day with alcohol based cleaner. If patients prefer to wait for your appointment in their car, or in our backyard away from others we can do that, so they can move directly to treatment room. If patients would prefer not to have to have contact with reception area they can chose to pay over the phone using their card before their appointment... We are asking clients to help us by not bringing any extra people into the practice. No Proactive staff will be attending work if they are even slightly unwell or suspect they have been exposed to the virus. See more

02.01.2022 Drinking plenty of water every day is essential for good health. While daily water intake requirements vary from person to person, as a rule of thumb, men should aim for around 10 cups (about 2.6 litres) and women should drink around 8 cups (about 2.1 litres).

01.01.2022 Human Skeleton under Different Situations Humans have around 270 bones at birth, but they fuse together as we grow old. By the time we reach adulthood, the numb...er of our bones goes down to 206 bones. The bones in our skeletons reach their maximum density around age 21. Our bones do not only help us move, they provide us with structural support, protect our organs and help us produce red blood cells. They also act as a storage area for minerals, particularly calcium.
