20.02.2022 This February our administrator Fiona is taking on the Starlight Super Swim Challenge. She has pledged to swim 10km in February to help sick kids and their families. Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to hospital in Australia. Now more than ever, hospitalised kids need fun and positive distraction to help them cope with the isolation and fear they are facing.... She has set herself a goal to raise at least $500 for sick kids and their families by 28 February. Please help her reach this goal by donating to her fundraising page here: https://superswim.org.au/fiona-edwards Updates will follow, she actually can't start for another week, so it will be more like 10km in 14 days! Thank you so much for your support!

16.01.2022 Knee Meniscal Injuries Knee meniscus injuries are very common. In younger people they usually happen when playing sport. However, once people get into their middle to later years (let's say 40+ ) it is more common to get a degenerative meniscal strain. What does this mean? To simplify it, it means that you've irritated a wrinkle in your knee joint. The great news is that degenerative meniscal tears respond very well to quality Physiotherapy and Osteopathy care. Unfo...rtunately some people are told to go get a scan and see the surgeon straight away and they end up having unnecessary surgery. Check out the video where Ben explains in more detail about what to do with knee meniscal injuries. If you know of anyone with knee pain that's not settling please tag them in the link so that they can get good information on how to deal with their injury

11.01.2022 Will a Cortisone Injection help my knee pain Heaps of people have cortisone injections into their knee when they have knee pain. Most commonly a cortisone injection is placed into the knee in someone who has arthritis in the knee. Do they work though?... The answer is.....sometimes! Cortisone injections can be helpful, however a detailed assessment of the knee needs to be done first as this will give a better idea of whether an injection will help. In my opinion, cortisone injections are given too often and without adequate consideration of all the other options first. An important thing to note, is that if the injection does help relieve your pain, it is essential to get rehab after the injection. Cortisone injections are more a short term option to help settle an irritated joint down. What are your experiences with cortisone injections? Do you swear by them or swear at them! If you need any help deciding if a cortisone injection is going to help you, feel free to contact us to chat

10.01.2022 Fast bowlers rock! Everyone in cricket knows that fast bowlers are the tough guys and gals - as well as they intelligent ones! Running in at full pace and then letting the ball go can take it out of your body if you aren't conditioned well. The plank is a great exercise to help build some core strength which can help reduce your injury risk and improve your performance!... Give this one a go. We'd love to hear how you fare! P.S. Look forward to seeing how the batsmen and batswomen go with this!

07.01.2022 Get Cricket Strong! Improving your muscle strength and physical capacity is a great thing to do to help reduce your injury risk and can help with your performance too. Check out this video with Adam and Ben demonstrating a push up. Great exercise for all (especially bowlers) and easy to do as no equipment required. Additionally, they are an upper body closed chain exercise which have been shown to be better at decreasing injury risk for overhead athletes

06.01.2022 Side planks for cricket Core strength is important for cricket, especially bowling. Side planks are a great way to increase your abdominal strength but they will also target the intercostals (muscles between ribs) which bowlers can injure. Not as easy as they look. ... Give them a go and let us know your thoughts

04.01.2022 Have you torn your ACL before Anyone who has had ACL reconstruction surgery knows it is a big deal! It is a very big physical and emotional journey from injury to operation to rehab to return to sport and life. 03.01.2022 Do you know this feeling..?

01.01.2022 I'm no photographer and there are plenty of better Doyle photographers in Cobram, particularly Rhonda Doyle Photographer, but I saw this driving back from Finley Regional Care the other week and thought it was worth sharing. Very lucky to live in our beautiful region!
