19.01.2022 The NSW Government has officially passed a legislative order which allows for the extension of weekday construction hours onto weekends and public holidays to facilitate construction works to continue to progress and enable tradespeople to meet the social distancing requirements which apply to us all in these strange times. Whilst we have some staff working from home, arrangements have been put in place to minimise any disruption to our service levels and it is business as usual for consultancy, approvals and inspections for our valued clients. 19.01.2022 We welcome the announcement made by the Federal Government over the weekend in relation to the extension and changes to the HomeBuilder program. Essentially the key changes are: - For projects where contracts were signed since 4 June 2020 they now have 6 months to commence construction which is up from 3 months currently. - The scheme has been extended until 31 March 2021 with the grant amount reducing after 31 December 2020 from $25,000 to $15,000. - The development value ca...ps have lifted in NSW to $950,000 for a new build, ie that’s how much the contract value can be up to and still have access to the grant. These changes will not only prolong the benefits to the construction industry and overall economy for a longer time period but also provide more realistic timeframes for commencements of projects. 15.01.2022 Keeping up to date with upcoming changes to the NCC ensures we can provide the most accurate advice to our clients. Directors Travis and Neil attended the Australian Building Codes Board seminar in Canberra today to learn about what the 2022 National Construction Code will have in store for the industry come 1 September 2022. 11.01.2022 Neil from the Dubbo Office was in Gulargambone this morning checking on the progress of the new Gulargambone Preschool building. It's great to see a project like this come together in a small regional community and even more so for it to be designed and engineered (Barnson Pty Ltd), constructed (Walsh Constructions Pty Limited) and of course certified (Pro Cert Group Pty Ltd) by companies who are all based in the local region.

10.01.2022 Tuesday Tip: For anyone who uses the National Construction Code (NCC) the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) have a YouTube channel that produces really informative videos which dive into explaining and clarifying many provisions of the NCC. 05.01.2022 We are excited to announce that, after working at obtaining the necessary experience and going through the review process, one of our Director's, Neil Diamond, has been successful in having a variation to the conditions of his accreditation approved today by the NSW Building Professionals Board. This variation enables Neil to certify commercial, industrial and other larger scale developments involving Performance Solutions for non-fire safety related matters which grows our capacity to handle these projects in the future. It was a team effort to enable this process to occur and it also furthers the options for future staff development within Pro Cert Group.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to one of our valued clients, Gavin Dale Design, who received a Building Designers Association of Australia design award for Origami House built in Dubbo by Orth Building.
