21.01.2022 Lord Howe Island Board COVID-19 UPDATE Friday 31 July 2020 Confirmation has just been received that the Minister for Health has signed a new Public He...alth Order (No.3) for Lord Howe Island. The Order will effectively continue restrictions on travel to the island until 31 August. Details will be further confirmed when the Order is able to be viewed. However, it is apparent that: Persons wishing to access Lord Howe Island will continue to need approval and will be subject to quarantine in the same fashion as has applied up until now. Those arriving before 31 August will need to complete their full 14 days quarantine effectively meaning that some people’s quarantine will continue until 14 September. Both Qantas and Eastern Air Services have been waiting to hear news and will be managing how to deal with those who have booked flights who might not be now able to arrive on-island. : @iancrolfe See more

11.01.2022 Here’s a little teaser of what a month on scuba looks like out here on Lord Howe Island . I’m one month in exploring this wonderful world of scuba diving. It has been a steep learning curve for Livi and I’m loving every minute of it! From the personal challenges of rewiring my mind away from freediving and having faith in the gear that holds me, to the squealing moments when Mother Nature surprises you once again. I’ve found that the underwater world is a completely differe...nt place with a tank on your back. Sooo so many new elements come into play with navigation, communication, your safety, buoyancy, reading computers, currents, temperature, time constraints, depth constraints, the way you breathe and move, monitoring the safety of others...and that’s just scrapping the surface. 08.01.2022 With the recent low tide we've been able to enjoy the beauty of the Potholes. The Potholes are a spur and groove formation which are common features of coral reefs, where drainage channels are carved in to the edge of the reef exposed to ocean swell. On Lord Howe Island, however, these ‘potholes’ are like no others. Carpeted in a lush diversity of seaweed, no where else in the world can you see such an amazing array of macro-algae alongside tropical corals. It is one of the many things that makes the World Heritage listed Lord Howe Island Marine Park so unique and valuable.
