25.01.2022 Inspirational Tuesday - Biodegradable Straws that dont soak In the face of environmental crisis, there is a collective effort to reduce and eventually stop using disposable plastic straws. However, even though we make significant progress toward this goal the straws that are currently being used are made of paper thus most of the time they get soaked quickly and leave a paper flavour. So, a company called PG Brand Reforming has designed the STRAWS which is a biodegradable a...lternative to plastic straws that because of their unique formula they dont soak and they have no flavour. According to the company, the product was inspired by Slavic traditions of making decor dried stems. The wicker shapes on the packaging are called spiders because in centuries-old Slavic culture it is believed that spiders protect the houses of villagers from fires, hurricanes and other natural disasters which made it a fitting symbol for the straws protecting nature. A good reminder to get back to our roots and look at nature for design solutions. #Straws #BiodegradableF #Sustainability #ProductDesign #PackagingDesign #InspirationalTuesday

However, even though we make significant progress toward this goal the straws that are currently being used are made of paper thus most of the time they get soaked quickly and leave a paper flavour. So, a company called PG Brand Reforming has designed the STRAWS which is a biodegradable a...lternative to plastic straws that because of their unique formula they don't soak and they have no flavour.
