24.01.2022 Police are seeking assistance regarding the identity of any individuals involved in the distribution of illicit substances at the "Hot Dub Wine Machine festiva...l at Ranelagh on Saturday. If any members of our community have purchased illicit drugs in the form of red capsules, I ask that they please destroy them or hand them in to police. Put your health and safety first. Detective Inspector Chambers said. These pills are believed to be related to an adverse reaction by a patron at the event. For those seeking to profit from selling harmful drugs to Tasmanians, know that we will target you and your activities in order to keep Tasmanians safe. Any information can either be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 (online at crimestopperstas.com.au) or directly to Detective Constable Ortuso of Southern Drug Investigation Services on 61732672.

19.01.2022 To all our show friends, supporters and punters, in light of recent directives from the government, and first and foremost to protect those in our community who... are vulnerable, we have had to cancel the Bream Creek Show 2020. The Bream Creek Show Society wish to express their sadness about having to make such a decision and to extend our thanks to all who were scheduled to be involved. Particular thanks to our wonderful committee and district members who have donated their time in preparation. We regret any inconvenience caused and we hope to see you all at our next show on March 20th, 2021, which is sure to be bigger, brighter and better than ever. Wishing you all the very best, big (air) hugs and kisses to all. XO

17.01.2022 Things are on the up and up.

16.01.2022 Hi Lawners, Thank you for your patience. It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the fourth edition of Day on the Lawn. After the Governmen...ts announcement regarding gatherings over 500 people, we have decided the festival cannot go ahead on March 21. Cancelling Day on the Lawn is heartbreaking but the only decision possible to support the communitys efforts to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). All ticket holders will receive a refund from Oztix. This is a difficult financial time for us and people in our industry. For every gig we put on, we employ a huge number of casual employees, contractors and local businesses, who will also feel the trickle-down impact from events like this being cancelled. Please note that our entire industry starts with musicians and artists. Without them, there would be no events and the need for all these other jobs. So bare a thought for these musicians, who often live gig to gig and use that money to support their families. When our community is going through tough times, it is always the artists who are the first to help out. It is now time for us to support them. We wholeheartedly support the measurements put in place by the Government. What is most important in this time is the safety of yourself, your family and friends. Lets not take risks, bunker down with your loved ones and stream your favourite music, go online and buy a new vinyl or T-shirt from your favourite band. Take this time to enrich your life by listening to their music, that always has brought us all so much joy. Much love, Day on the Lawn

03.01.2022 Agricultural shows are an important part of celebrating our regional communities and today I joined Huon Agricultural Show Soceity member Mark Jessop and Cr Bec... Enders, Mayor of the Huon Valley Council to announce that the Society will receive over $290,000 in funding to construct a new pavilion at the showgrounds Charlotte Street entrance. Tasmania had received over $1.2 million in funding as part of the Governments Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program to transform regional showgrounds across the State. This funding will assist regional Tasmanian shows, such as the Huon Show with ensuring that the events continue to draw visitors into our regional areas and so that they come back bigger and better then ever before!
