07.02.2022 We are back! With state and international borders opening up again we are able to ensure we are able to offer the full gambit of trips and destinations you have come to expect from us. We have so many exciting things to share with you including new destinations, time honoured favourites and new operators! To start with there is a new charter in town and we are doing a bare bones charter THIS Saturday 29 January 2022! This is a once off charter to iron out the kinks and ensure... weighting etc for future charters. We are running it at BELOW COST! All we are asking for is for you to cover the fuel for the boat ($70 per person) and tanks and weights ($30 per person) if you need them. It will be a very early start but you will be back by midday so your Saturday afternoon is still intact! What are you waiting for?! Spaces are limited! This bare bones charter is literally costing us money so theis pricing will never be repeated so make sure you don't miss out! Message John on 0457 007 040 or via direct message to lock your spot down!
30.01.2022 DIVER DOWN - We received some absolutely awful news yesterday. Paul Conza tragically passed away yesterday morning from cardiac arrest. Paul's departure leaves a phenomenal hole in the dive community. For well over a decade Ozaquatec was the most reliable and experienced service centre in Brisbane. Having departed from servicing in August he had been toying with returning to what he did best. I for one will be thinking of him; as I do with all of my dive buddies that are no longer with us, every time I slip beneath the surface. Our thoughts are with Paul's family and particularly his beautiful children. Vale mate, we love you and will miss you incredibly.
24.01.2022 Wreck diving is one of the most intriguing and emotive diving experiences there is. You literally get to watch history come alive and swim the hallowed decks of so many different vessels that served in the navy or carried cargo and passengers across the world. Whether they were sunk intentionally or went down in a storm, all ship wrecks offer us a glimpse in to a time past! Want to satisfy your lust for rust? Come and join us over the next two weekends as we dive the EX-HMAS ...Brisbane and the EX-HMAS Tobruk. The rain looks like it may be settling in for the coming week but we are going to be wet anyway! Be it a day trip, weekend away, fun diving or your PADI wreck diving specialty course we have you covered! To join us THIS WEEKEND for a day trip on either Saturday or Sundayto dive the EX-HMAS Brisbane off of Mooloolaba click here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au/dive-the-ex-hma/ To join us for our weekend trip 14 to 16 February to dive Australia's newest wreck the EX-HMAS Tobruk click here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au/dive-the-ex-hma/ If you have any questions please contact John on 0457007040. Here are a few photos of what you can expect if you join us for an epic day of diving the EX- HMAS Brisbane at Mooloolaba. Put yourself in the picture and come and join us!
23.01.2022 Happy Halloween from Professional Dive Services! It has been a long time since we have been in contact but we are still here and ready to get back to the business of diving! We have been making a lot of improvements and ensuring that in returning we are leading the way in ensuring we are COVID safe and doing everything we possibly can to mitigate risk considering the vast range of destinations that we offer. With the border to NSW finally opening on Monday we are good to offe...r our full range of destinations again. We are just solidifying the calendar at the moment but will have a copy of our Wetnotes in your inbox on Tuesday! We are just as excited as you are to return to the water particularly given the temps are rising and the water is heating up! For all in South East Queensland stay safe with the impending predicted storm this evening and to everyone we hope that you have a fun and spooky Halloween! Zac opted for the traditional Jack'o'lantern, Ava for a crescent and star combo and John went for Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. Fingers crossed the storm passes quickly so we can get them out for the trick or treaters!
20.01.2022 Some cool facts about our finned friends. We are busy putting together our calendar for the next few months at the moment. February is just too tumultuous weather wise and rather than having multiple trips cancelled and disappointing you, we have decided to focus on March onwards. So stay tuned! So many incredible trips coming up including a return to the Neptune Islands to dive with Great Whites in June and the SS Yongala in October for some of our bigger trips. We are still running loads of courses at the moment training up more dive buddies and upskilling too. If it has been awhile since you have been out of the game, give John a call on 0457007040 and we will schedule a refresher to get you back to speed ready for when we get back in the water!

17.01.2022 Edithburgh by Night - Our Best of South Australia trip met an unpredictable hiccup this year when a massive low pressure system formed by conditions blown from the Antarctic saw us unable to venture out on the MV Rodney Fox. With conditions forcing us to stay on land we rallied to ensure the divers who joined us were still able to do some world class diving with endemic creatures at iconic dive locations. By far one of the most well known sites that South Australia has to o...ffer is the jetty at Edithburgh. One of the most iconic critters in South Australian waters and one that Edithburgh is particularly famous for is the pyjama squid (which is actually a cuttlefish! It is one of the few cephalopods that is not only venomous but poisonous as well!). Well known photographer Matt Testoni (who was to join us aboard RFSE on the same trip) also joined us as we braved the winter night time waters in search of Edithburgh's best known residents. Got to love winter diving when the water is 11 degrees and is warmer than the surface! Edithburgh is truly a cephalopod smorgasboard with octopus, bottletail squid and bobtail squid also seen! With so many critters it was hard to know where to focus next! Edithburgh has reignited our idea for a summer diving jetties tour! With so many incredible jetties to dive in South Australia we are putting together a trip for next February to dive some of the most iconic jetties. A true delight for macro photographers and cephalopod lovers alike! A massive thank you to the efforts of Andrew Hunter from Adelaide SCUBA who drove out to Port Wakefield to meet John late at night so we had tanks and weights for the next day. We couldn't have done it without you mate! Thank you!
15.01.2022 The more you dive the luckier you get! With only a handful of sightings ever of grey nurse sharks on the EX-HMAS Brisbane, we were overjoyed that the two females filmed on Friday were still off the bow when we dived yesterday! Judging by the recent love bites around their heads I am guessing they were hanging around for some respite from the unwanted attention they had been receiving from males on some of the local reefs! Thank you to the incredible team at Sunreef Mooloolaba... for looking after us so well as always! We are hoping that they are still there THIS COMING FRIDAY 27 November 2020 when we head back up to the EX-HMAS Brisbane for a midweek trip to do a double dive. Come and join us for a couple of fun dives and get your lust for rust and shark fix at the same time!! Aside from some of the wrecks off of Florida and down at Forster where we run our deep courses there are so few places on the planet where you can wreck dive and dive with carcharias taurus at the same time! Want to join us? Full details can be found on our website here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au/dive-the-ex-hma/ To book on straight away and ensure you don't miss the boat click here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au//ex-hmas-brisb/ If you have any questions please contact John on 0457007040. Here are some photos of the sharks from yesterday.
13.01.2022 The most anticipated and exciting trip on our calendar is back! Join us THIS 4 to 11 June 2021 to dive with arguably the most iconic sea life Australia has to offer with our Best of South Australia tour! From the 4th to the 11th of June you could be diving with the largest aggregation of cephalopods on the planet with the Australian Giant Cuttlefish; one of the most endangered pinnipeds on the planet the Australian sealion; the largest seahorse in the world the Leafy Seadrag...on and of course the BIGGEST drawcard of them all GREAT WHITE SHARKS!! This year our trip is even better than ever! Not only will we have Andrew Fox on board but we will get the opportunty to meet the man himself, Rodney Fox!! On our first day of the Best of South Australia tour we will be some of the first people to view the new Rodney Fox Great White Shark Museum and have a meet and greet with Rodney so you can ask him some of those burning questions! The exhibit is the most comprehensive great white shark exhibit in the world and will really get you excited for what is to come!! Full details of what awaits you can be found on our website here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au/australian-gian/ To book on straight away and ensure your spot is locked in click here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au//great-white-s/ The itinerary doesn't get more exciting! Come and join us for the trip of a lifetime! If you have any questions please call John on 0457007040. This is one trip you don't want to miss!! Here is what awaits you if you join us:

Kick Carona in the teeth and join us for the one place you can't the virus... UNDER THE SEA! The conditions have been so tempermental this year that our opportunities to get in the water have been so limited. NOT THIS WEEKEND!! With day trips to the jewel of Moreton Bay; and the most ecologically and biodiverse re...ef on the Eastern seaboard - Flinders Reef, and one of the Top 10 dive sites in Australia Julian Rocks at Byron Bay, this weekend we have you covered! The mantas have returned to Byron and divers have been seeing 3 to 4 a dive! ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT!! 11.01.2022 We managed one last weekend of diving with two day trips on the 21st and 22 of March 2020 before the COVID-19 restrictions really took ahold and made all of the dive shops close their doors. We were absolutely blessed with the conditions on Saturday the 21st of March 2020! Flinders Reef is always a crowd favourite and it has been FAR too long since we had last dived there! Nothing more you could ask for than some epic conditions to remind you of what awaits us when we can fin...ally return to the ocean. Given that the Flinders Trips only operate outside of of whale season it won't be until late October to early November before we will be able to venture out to Flinders again but it will be worth the wait! Probably THE best place in South East Queensland and arguably one of the best in the country to dive with green sea turtles. The water was a balmy 27 to 28 degrees and the surface almost like a millpond so the divers were definitely spoiled! Thank you to the awesome team at Sunreef for getting us there and back quickly and safely and for the awesome feed! Here are some BC (Before Carona) dive pics from our EPIC day of diving at Flinders Reef! We will be back!
10.01.2022 Mating season at Wolf Rock!! Is there anything better?! The water is heating up and so is the action! The females are covered in the tell tale scars that indicate the next generation is under way! With leopard sharks, blotched fantail rays, white spotted eagle rays, HUGE schools of fish and of course the incredible grey nurse sharks, you never know what you are going to see! On one of our last trips John found three porcelain crabs in three anemones next to each other! Wolf ...Rock just keeps on giving! Want to experience the majesty of Wolf for yourself? COME AND JOIN US THIS WEEKEND!! Your epic weekend to recharge the batteries includes 2 nights accommodation, 4 dives, lunch each day, divemaster services, surface snacks, return transport to Rainbow Beach and a weekend that will keep you buzzing into 2021! Here is what awaits us THIS WEEKEND! Join us and put yourself in the picture!
10.01.2022 Know your elasmobranchs! These three beautiful rays can be found along our coastline particularly in the summer months. Best places to see them are Round Bommie off of Rainbow Beach with Wolf Rock Dive and Manta Bommie on North Stradbroke. Always cool to see them but as you can see unless you have three photos to compare are easily confused even by some of the most astute photographers and fish mad divers. Make sure you save this post to help you identify them in future!
09.01.2022 This is what awaits the 7 lucky divers joining us next Thursday as we travel up to Alva Beach to spend three days diving the SS Yongala! This incredible footage was taken in the last couple of weeks by Daniel Lidgard. This is exactly why the SS Yongala is the only site to consistently rate in the Top 10 Dive Sites in the world! Want to see this for yourself? We will be releasing our October long weekend spots shortly. They will fill quickly so start checking with work whether... you can join us 1 to 5 October 2020! The water is warm and inviting! Even at Mooloolaba and Wolf Rock at Rainbow you are looking at summer temps of 26 to 28 degrees celsius! Want to get wet THIS weekend?! We still have a couple of spots to join us for an epic day of diving at Wolf Rock TOMORROW! Wolf Rock like the SS Yongala is true world class diving and has earned the reputation of Australia's BEST shark and ray dive! 01.01.2022 Edithburgh by Day - Our Best of South Australia trip met an unpredictable hiccup this year when a massive low pressure system formed by conditions blown from the Antarctic saw us unable to venture out on the MV Rodney Fox. With conditions forcing us to stay on land we rallied to ensure the divers who joined us were still able to do some world class diving with endemic creatures at iconic dive locations. By far one of the most well known sites that South Australia has to off...er is the jetty at Edithburgh. Having been unable to find Leafy Seadragons at Tumby Bay for the first time in 10 years our spirits were buoyed by reports from well known photographer Matt Testoni (who was to join us aboard RFSE on the same trip) of leafies near the jetty. Whilst we didn't find the three as resported Matt did manage to find one that was very accommodating! The jetty itself is spectacular and festooned with sponges and marine life. Having dived it during the day we were particularly excited at the prospect of diving her again that night when some of the most well known residents come out including the absolutely adorable pyjama squid (which is actually a cuttlefish)! Photos to come! A massive thank you to the efforts of Andrew Hunter from Adelaide SCUBA who drove out to Port Wakefield to meet John late at night so we had tanks and weights for the next day. We couldn't have done it without you mate! Thank you! Here is Edithburgh Jetty by day.
19.12.2021 In all of my years of diving this was one of the BEST sights I have ever seen underwater. Divemaster Paul Casey's triumphant return to his favourite dive site, Julian Rocks at Byron Bay. Less than 2 years earlier after "feeling a bit crook" Paul ended up on the operating table and literally died twice during the operation. It took almost two years of determination and subjecting himself to every test required but he is back in action! So with a group of his favourite dive buddies he made his return to Julian Rocks. Whilst there was a bit of sediment in the water the visibility was great, the surface conditions brilliant and the company even better! Here are some photos from that first momentous dive. Please join me in welcoming Paul back where he belongs!
17.12.2021 Few wrecks have been so hotly discussed in the last few years than the HMAS Tobruk! Whilst she may not have come to rest upright on the seabed as intended, she certainly has become an incredible living reef and truly epitomises the life that can be attracted and sustained by a former miliary vessel. We are headed to Hervey Bay next Friday night the 25th of June 2021 for an awesome weekend of diving and you can join us! The PERFECT location to do your nitrox or wreck specialti...es (or both!) and includes 4 dives, tanks, weights, Divemaster services, 2 nights at the beautiful Mantra Hervey Bay, return transport from Brisbane to Hervey Bay and nitrox fills for anyone who is certified or doing the nitrox course (nitrox must be organised by Wednesday evening). Full details can be found on our website on the link below: http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au/dive-the-ex-hma/ To book on immediately and ensure you don't miss the boat click here : http://www.professionaldiveservices.com.au//ex-hmas-tobruk/ As always if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to call John on 0457 007 040 or 07 3204 5857. Come and join us to explore Australia's newest wreck!
15.12.2021 We were privileged to dive with the Giant Australian Cuttlefish aggregation at Whyalla yesterday and are pleased to report the numbers are the greatest they have been in the past decade! PLENTY of mating displays and males tussling for the privilege of passing on their genes! We also saw a seahorse and a New Zealand Fur seal! Angelina Pilarinos managed to get photos so it did happen! Here are a photos to wet your appetite!
